Chapter 130 The Love-Hate Relationships of Couples

The wizard was a very experienced veteran who had delivered several children without any mishaps.

Silver Pine waited outside the door, trusting the old wizard completely. The surgery went smoothly at first, and the child was delivered. But as the wizard was stitching the wound up, a hand suddenly grabbed at him.

Yan Gui lay wearily on the bed and shook her head at him, "No need to bother anymore, I'm useless now, living on would only be torture."

The wizard paused, then held the newly taken-out little creature in front of him. "Don't you want the cub either?"

The cub looked like him, but his bloodline was stronger. It had a pair of wings on its back and its chest was covered with patterns. Like a bat, it crookedly crawled over, stepping on his arm.

Yan Gui's expression softened, and she pushed him towards the wizard, saying, "Someone will love him."

The wizard hurriedly caught it, saying, "You've made up your mind."

"Mmm." Yan Gui closed her eyes, spread her hands, and ended this period of both pain and pleasure.

The chain on his ankle was suddenly opened, and the old wizard put the little guy into his hand and quickly sewed up the wound on his belly.

"A cunning rabbit has three burrows, and a wolf has more than one entrance. If you come out from the back later, I'll say you're dead."

Yan Gui's eyes widened suddenly, and it took her a while to find her voice, "Thank you."

This was the first time he had used honorifics with someone else; previously, only others had used honorifics with him.

"Don't mention it." The old wizard shook his head. "You young people love to risk your lives for love."

The wizard wrapped the wound tightly with strips of cloth and applied pain-relieving medicine, and Yan Gui felt much better.

"You should leave now."

Yan Gui bent down, preparing to crawl into the hole at the bottom of the water tank. Before leaving, she looked at the cub in her arms and suddenly handed it to the wizard, saying, "Leave it as a keepsake for him."

This child belongs to Yinsong. Not only is it inconvenient for him to keep him around, but he will also suffer. More importantly, Yinsong now has a reason to arrest him.

The tiny cub's eyes were still closed; it only knew to grope and cling to his fingers. Yan Gui cruelly pried them open, then turned sharply and scurried into the hole to leave.

The cave entrance did indeed lead in another direction. Yan Gui clutched her stomach and walked while holding onto the large trees that were coming from the opposite direction.

He tried to stay by waterway as much as possible to avoid being discovered, as the smell of blood could be detected by Yinsong.

Yan Gui was injured, and the water was icy cold, with blood gushing out from time to time, but he didn't care and continued on his way while holding onto a dead tree.

He was extremely familiar with the sky, but lacked knowledge on the ground. There were crocodiles in the waters of the great forest, and even if he was lucky enough not to encounter crocodiles, he would encounter piranhas.

Yan Gui was lucky; he didn't encounter any crocodiles or see any piranhas. However, every now and then, several huge black shadows swam past him, their tails whipping around so hard they could send him flying.

They seemed very interested in the returning geese, swimming around him and sometimes even reaching out to touch his injured areas.

Yan Gui gasped sharply, her back aching so badly she couldn't straighten up.

Suddenly, a head popped out. Being close by, Yan Gui could see its appearance clearly: the upper body was human, and the lower body was fish.

Mermaid.

I've heard that mermaids are ferocious and evil, they love to eat the flesh of beastmen, they steal children, do bad things, and are especially mischievous.

Yan Gui's eyes flashed with a fierce light. "What do you want?"

Mermaids are marine creatures and speak a language he doesn't understand; the two of them are like talking to a brick wall and have difficulty communicating.

The mermaids swam around for a while, then suddenly pushed the tree stump with all their might. The stump swayed and drifted into the depths.

Yan Gui tensed up, broke off a branch from the stake, and whipped the mermaid, yelling, "Get out of here!"

The mermaid was incredibly strong. With her long fingernails, she grabbed the branch and threw it into the water. She then continued to push the tree stump toward the center of the lake.

As the wild goose returned home, its heart grew colder and colder. With nowhere to land in the center of the lake and unable to fly, it was as if it were not far from death.

I never imagined that I could dodge the first day of the lunar month but not the fifteenth.

Yan Gui shook his head. It was fate; there was nothing he could do about it.

However, this also means that no one can catch up with him, and he is still quite safe if he has food.

Of course, those mermaids wouldn't let him off so easily.

He had heard another story, that mammals like mermaids would automatically rescue people who had fallen into the water, probably out of kindness.

Mermaids are truly a contradictory combination. They have a reputation for being ruthless and cruel, yet also for being incredibly beautiful and kind-hearted. No one really knows what they are like.

Yan Gui didn't know either; he could only hope it was the latter.
