The young man is now standing obediently under the showerhead, letting Fang Rong do whatever she wants with him. Fang Rong is scrubbing his back because he doesn't like taking baths, so she always has to come up with a trick to lure him over.
Fortunately, he was easy to fool. One day he would ask him to get shampoo, the next day he would ask him to get shower gel, and then it would be shampoo again. He would fall for it every time and would be dragged over to wash his hair.
There was a bathtub in the bathroom, but it was a very small one, just big enough for one person to wash. Fang Rong would sit down when he went in, while Fang Hua, who was shorter and thinner than him, could lie down. Usually, Fang Rong would fill the tub with water and let him lie down, so that he could relax while being scrubbed.
However, he came back early today, and he didn't expect Fang Hua to be back as well, so he wasn't prepared.
It was Fang Hua who took the initiative to ask, "Aren't we going to soak today?"
"No more soaking, let's get this over with quickly." After showering, I still need to cook, and only after eating can I go to sleep.
He was exhausted from looking for work outside, the sun was blazing, and the soles of his feet were blistered before he finally found a job.
It's a small restaurant where the owner and his wife are both working. The wife works at the front desk while the owner works in the back. Because it's too tiring, the owner wanted to hire a chef, but the wife objected, and the two even had a fight. In the end, the chef was hired anyway.
Fang Rong found a job in the morning and tried it out in the afternoon. The boss treated him well and was very experienced, having worked in many large hotels. He often taught Fang Rong some methods that were easier and allowed him to do things better.
Fang Rong was very satisfied; she learned a lot of experience in just one afternoon.
He's just too busy. After all, he used to be a head chef with great culinary skills and many repeat customers. He was so busy all afternoon that his hands were shaking. Now he just wants to rest.
Because the place is too far away, it's inconvenient to commute to get off work, and he's no longer a member of the military region, it would be awkward for him to stay here. He plans to move out tomorrow, but he doesn't know how to tell Fang Hua.
After all, the two of them came together and had developed feelings for each other; it wouldn't be right not to say anything.
"Fang Hua," Fang Rong decided to tell the truth, "I plan to move out tomorrow and stop working here."
Fang Hua was taken aback. Because he didn't train with Fang Rong, he didn't know that Fang Rong hadn't gone to the assembly for two days.
"Don't worry, even though we're not together anymore, it's still easy to meet up. Technology is so advanced these days, there are plenty of ways to make a phone call or chat online." Fang Rong continued rubbing his back without stopping. "You stay in the army and I'm waiting to see you rise to prominence so you can take me with you."
He tried to make his smile seem less forced. "The instructor has been very good to you, you can't let him down, you know?"
"Hmm." Fang Hua nodded, staring blankly at him.
"Silly boy, it's not like we'll never see each other again." Fang Rong squeezed some shampoo onto his hair and washed it. "You can come find me after you finish training."
"Um."
"If you want to eat my cooking, I can send it to you." There are space stations everywhere now, so sending things is very convenient. You can receive your things almost as soon as you put them in, and they're still warm when they arrive.
"Um."
Having said everything he needed to say, Fang Rong didn't know what else to say. He took the showerhead off and rinsed Fang Hua's head. After washing him, he dried his head, wrapped him in his clothes, and Fang Hua remained silent throughout the entire process. Only at the end did he ask a question.
When are you leaving?
"Around ten o'clock tomorrow," Fang Rong replied after thinking for a moment. "I still need to pack my things."
He moved out as soon as he moved in, and he still has some things that he hasn't had time to unpack, so he put them under the bed so they'll be easier to unpack tomorrow.
Moreover, with Fang Hua here, he will be staying here and will need daily necessities, so Fang Rong will probably only take some essentials and leave the rest for him.
"Oh." Fang Hua belatedly realized what was happening and neither offered to see him off nor asked him to stay.
To be honest, Fang Rong was still a little sad. She felt like she had raised him for nothing, and he didn't even ask her why, or even try to persuade her to stay.
He thought they had a great relationship and was still debating whether to tell him or not. If he had known his reaction earlier, he would have left without saying a word.
Fang Rong was very angry, but she still put a lot of effort into the last meal. She added a newly learned technique to the spicy chicken, making the chicken even more flavorful.
Fang Hua, carefree and nonchalant, finished his meal indifferently. When asked if it was good or bad, he would just say "hmm." Does "hmm" mean good or bad?
Fang Rong was very disappointed that he was still like this even though he was leaving. He was already planning to delete the phone number and block the internet software as soon as he moved out, and never have anything to do with him again.
I'm so angry!
So many days of feelings have been nothing but wishful thinking and delusions?
While washing the dishes, Fang Rong was filled with resentment and wished she could rush over and kick Fang Hua right away.
However, he has always been slow to react, and even if he were actually kicked, he would be completely bewildered and unable to grasp the situation.
Fang Rong sighed, thinking she had raised an ungrateful child, never expecting Fang Hua to be like this.
He was so angry that he couldn't sleep, while Fang Hua slept beside him, breathing evenly and looking peaceful.
Fang Rong was furious and kicked him, waking him up. He was indeed confused and completely disoriented. When he realized that Fang Rong was angry, he ran over and hugged him.
Fang Rong was still angry. She pushed him away and pointed to the door, saying, "Go sleep over there. I don't want to sleep with you tonight."
Fang Hua looked at him with a puzzled expression, then looked around the room. Wasn't this his room?
His gaze was so obvious that Fang Rong grabbed a pillow and rushed out.
Damn it, I'm still angry!
He was sulking, lying in his room restlessly, sometimes sitting up and sometimes falling asleep again.
With her chest heaving violently, unable to fall asleep, Fang Rong turned on the light and started playing a childish game, turning the light off and on again.
