"Really? I'm rather envious of your superpower. You don't even have to get out of bed when you're feeling lazy; you just have to call for something and it comes right away."
After the three finished their meal, they set off. As they walked, their conversation drifted further and further away, from hair to clothes, and then from clothes to superpowers. They seemed to be having a very pleasant conversation, which made Fang Hua jealous. He squeezed between the two of them and refused to let them get together.
However, the two always seemed to intentionally or unintentionally put their arms around each other's shoulders. Every time they saw Fang Hua, they would keep their distance from him. If that didn't work, they would simply carry Fang Rong on their backs and then move away themselves.
Li Wenyang gave a wry smile, "I'm not some monster, why are you keeping your distance from me?"
Fang Hua snorted coldly and didn't say anything.
"Stop fooling around." Fang Rong patted him. "Put me down."
"I won't let go," Fang Hua insisted.
"Forget it, this saves us from walking and we're still unhappy." Li Wenyang, the third wheel, had tried his best to minimize his presence, but sometimes he still had to interfere.
Fang Rong struggled for a moment but couldn't break free, so she simply stayed put. If she made a fuss any longer, the two of them would fall into the ditch together, and there was a ditch bridge right in front of them.
It's called Yingou Bridge because it's small.
The slums were far from the city center, and the lively banter along the way kept us from getting bored and made the time pass quickly. The outskirts of the city were not far away.
The three of them boarded the maglev train and breathed a sigh of relief. "We're almost there!"
Fang Rong was alright; when she got tired, Fang Hua carried her on his back. Fang Hua seemed to never get tired, always full of energy. Li Wenyang, on the other hand, was miserable. Except for the occasional car ride, he had basically walked the whole way. Even when Fang Rong wanted to carry him, Fang Hua refused.
Thankfully, it will all be alright by then.
I'll make you something delicious tomorrow.
Li Wenyang's eyes lit up. "This is a good idea."
"I want one too," Fang Hua retorted.
"Okay, you got one too." Fang Hua also put in a lot of effort today, so he should be rewarded.
The maglev train was very fast, and the three of them soon arrived at the city center and the entrance of the military district. Fang Hua got off at the next stop, but he insisted on seeing Fang Rong off.
"There are two of us, what are you afraid of?"
That's precisely why I'm sending it to the two of them; in case they're hugging and cuddling when he can't see them...
"Fine, fine, go ahead and go if you want." Persuading Fang Hua was more difficult than he had imagined. The key was that the kid was becoming increasingly disobedient; he had even called him stupid this morning.
"Mmm." Fang Hua looked innocent, reluctantly seeing him off to the entrance of the military area, and only leaving after watching him go inside.
"She's so young, yet she's already an old lady. She has so many things to worry about."
"I like you, there's nothing I can do about it." Li Wenyang shrugged, offering an explanation for Fang Hua.
"Oh right, you haven't changed your clothes yet."
"Oh." Fang Rong almost forgot about that. "Wait for me a moment."
He went into a small alley, changed his clothes, and then came out, saying, "All done."
"Hmm." Li Wenyang looked him up and down. "You look better in your military uniform; it makes you look more energetic."
"Stop fooling around, we need to get down to business." The two of them were going to be punished with running laps again, and they had done things like running five hundred laps around the track quite a few times.
"It's just running a few laps, right? I'll run then." Li Wenyang didn't care at all.
He didn't care, but Fang Rong did. Fortunately, his injury had healed. Once, he was still injured and was made to run as punishment. My god, that feeling was just awful.
Both of them were prepared, but when they returned, the instructor only glared at them and did not reprimand them or make them run as punishment.
"What's wrong? Why are you being so agreeable today?" He turned to Li Wenyang and asked in a low voice.
"Is it almost over? They don't have time to criticize us?" the two guessed wildly.
There have been small competitions every two days and big competitions every three days lately, the training has been very intense, and this has been going on for two or three months. Does this mean it's finally coming to an end?
It's also possible that someone bribed the instructor for him, which is why the instructor didn't reprimand him.
"Never mind, I'll just take things as they come."
"Mm." Fang Rong nodded, and the two continued to listen to the instructor's nagging.
"You'll be leaving soon, and I don't want to put too much pressure on you before you go. Come out for a get-together after 10 p.m. tomorrow night. Drink until you drop, then pack your bags and leave. Wait for your superiors to make other arrangements." The instructor clapped his hands. "Dismissed."
The orderly ranks gradually dispersed, gathering in twos and threes. Fang Rong and Li Wenyang stood together.
"What do you think the instructor meant by 'leave'?"
"Didn't we say we were waiting for orders from higher up? We're probably going to continue training in another location."
"I see." Thinking about it, it makes sense. Saying he's leaving probably means he's graduated and can get back into real combat. The thought of going to the orc world to enjoy the sunshine and gentle breeze is quite exciting.
Li Wenyang's focus, however, was on something else entirely: "There's a gathering tomorrow. Do you think it will be a joint event for all four districts, or should we organize it ourselves?"
"What's the point of us organizing it ourselves? It'll definitely be a joint effort across all four districts." And then there will probably be some female soldiers joining the army, right?
I think so?
"Even if you gather people from all four districts, you still can't gather that many females, right?"
“Actually, we can handle it internally.” The one-on-one mutual assistance arranged by the military region seemed to be a way of bringing them together, after all, one was a human and the other an orc.
"You know it now?" Li Wenyang said with a lewd expression.
"Why aren't you getting ready yet?" This guy loves to join in the fun, he goes wherever there's excitement, and he especially loves flirting. When he sees someone outstanding, he can't help but feel excited and has to go up and flirt with them a few times, otherwise he feels uncomfortable.
“That’s right, I’m going to buy two formal dresses. Do you want to come with me?” Li Wenyang winked at him.
"No need, you go ahead." Fang Rong went back alone, cooked a meal for the old man, and asked for his opinion while eating.
