“But the meaning is different.” Fang Hua pointed to the cake. “I made this one.”
Although it didn't look very appealing, and the dough inside wasn't mixed evenly, with some parts sticking together and not baking well, and one bite revealed only white flour, Fang Rong was still very touched. The sentiment was more important than anything else.
Fang Hua's willingness to do this shows that she cares about him.
"Don't do it again next time." Fang Rong rubbed his head. "It's a waste."
He took a dishwashing wire out of his mouth, wondering how such a thing could be mixed into the cake.
Fang Hua blushed slightly. "It must have gotten in there when I was washing the pot."
"Yes, I didn't mean to blame you." He was just curious, and he was already very touched that Fang Hua would make a cake because of his words.
"I'm glad Fang Rong likes it." Fang Hua leaned over and hugged him.
"I really like it." Fang Rong got up to go to the bathroom. "But please don't make it again next time, you'll blow up the kitchen."
"No." Fang Hua pulled him down to the kitchen. "I've already cleaned everything up."
Perhaps because Fang Rong always complained that he was more of a hindrance than a help, he cleaned up especially well this time.
"Not bad, not bad." Fang Rong looked at him approvingly, "You've improved."
"Look inside, I washed it very clean."
"Hmm." Fang Rong patiently accompanied him on a tour.
"I also..." Fang Rong quickly interrupted him, "Can you take a look at my thoughts first?"
His eyes practically screamed: "I want to go to the toilet!"
"Oh." Fang Hua was slightly disappointed.
"We'll see when we get back," Fang Rong said, offering him some comfort.
Fang Hua is easily satisfied, hence the bright smile on his face.
When he came back, the two of them looked around again, and Fang Hua did a good job this time.
"Alright, it's about time to sleep." I have to report for duty tomorrow.
"Mmm." Fang Hua wrapped her arms around his neck from behind, relying on his strength to walk.
They chatted and fussed for a while, and didn't fall asleep until almost 3 a.m.
I woke up on time the next day. Today was the day to set off for the orc world, and I couldn't miss it.
While tidying herself up, Fang Rong also made preparations for Fang Hua, and the two went out together to the military region.
I wonder if we'll travel in one car; besides, one car wouldn't be big enough to fit everyone.
Perhaps because of the special circumstances, even Li Wenyang took it seriously and arrived half an hour early. Fang Rong arrived forty minutes early, ten minutes earlier than him.
We still had to run early in the morning. The instructors led the group, saying some obvious platitudes, and then silently got them onto the bus.
The military region always keeps its missions strictly confidential, only revealing the destination when they are en route.
This time was no exception; they were only told they were about to head to the orc world, the real battlefield, upon arrival at their military destination.
All the previous efforts were for this moment, and all the knowledge I've learned will come in handy here.
Fang Rong was filled with excitement. He had once seen a fantasy world of beastmen in a movie, a world of beauty and wonder. Although it was also fraught with danger, he felt that it was all worth it, no matter how dangerous it was.
The soldiers never let go of their guns, and each carried a backpack issued by the military region on their back, which contained all sorts of daily tools, such as spare magazines.
The instructors took them to a military aircraft, where another person took over and arranged the next test.
The main purpose of the test was to confirm whether any of them would experience symptoms of acclimatization problems, poisoning, or inability to eat local specialties.
There will be a week of observation and recording. If symptoms such as chest tightness or difficulty breathing occur, the person will be sent to the mothership.
I heard that the air below is rich in minerals, and the mixture makes it difficult for non-locals to adapt. Also, the magnetic field is much lighter than that of an aircraft carrier, so people standing on it will feel slightly weightless and top-heavy.
No looking around on the plane, so Fang Rong didn't see anything. She sat upright for the whole afternoon, listening to the new instructors talk about daily training.
Since they are just starting to adapt, their tasks won't be too heavy; the main focus will be on getting used to life here.
While the orc world and the aircraft carrier are largely the same, and humans can live there, a small percentage may experience poisoning or other issues.
.
After flying for most of the day, the plane finally arrived in the orc world. The cabin door opened, revealing a desolate landscape outside.
Fang Rong's excited expression froze. What was going on?
Where is the promised prosperity and lush greenery?
"What are you staring at, kid?" The new instructor kicked him.
"This is not the orc world I imagined," Fang Rong said honestly.
"This is just the tip of the iceberg, what's the rush?" The instructor kicked him down, and he blocked the doorway, preventing the others from getting out.
Fang Rong breathed a sigh of relief. She knew it; a planet that could produce natural food and completely unpolluted vegetables couldn't possibly be a desolate wasteland.
He joined the others in lining up and calling out their numbers, first went to the dormitory to put his things down, and then began his first training session.
That is, take off the gas mask. Fang Rong is fine and does not show any signs of poisoning, but she feels dizzy and lightheaded, and has a feeling of wanting to vomit.
This was still at the base, where some magnets had been buried underground to help them adapt to the orc world in advance; they hadn't yet reached the real primeval forest.
Although we didn't reach it, we could still see the forest not far away from the rooftop sometimes, and birds would fly by from time to time.
The military base was chosen in this desolate place because it facilitates reconnaissance and avoids being ambushed or surrounded by enemies.
Fang Rong climbed the ladder with binoculars and looked into the distance.
"How is it? What's going on?" Li Wenyang asked, holding the ladder for him from below.
"There's nothing here." They've been here for a day, eating meat every meal with very few vegetables, but they can manage. The only thing is that the roars of wild animals every night are a bit creepy, so they decided to take a look.
