Li Wenyang stared at his expression for three seconds, and only after confirming that he wasn't lying did he feel a little scared. He didn't dare stay in the room any longer and turned to run away.
Xu Hongrui didn't say anything, just stood by the bed with his pillow in his arms, staring at him without blinking.
Li Wenyang took a few steps and then turned back. "I think it might be a problem with the room's layout. It felt gloomy as soon as I came in yesterday."
There is also a singing Buddha statue in the middle, but instead of bringing peace of mind, it gives people a feeling of summoning spirits.
"This needs to be removed, and so does that, and that one too." He was referring to the mirror by the bedside, the talisman by the door, and the Buddha statue.
"It just doesn't feel right to put it here."
"You think so too?" Xu Hongrui agreed with him. "I'm also very afraid of these things."
"Hmm." The two of them worked together to move all the things out and put them in the storage room. The curtains were drawn back, and the room was immediately filled with light. The window happened to be facing Li Wenyang's room.
“I live right across from you,” Li Wenyang said, pointing to the window across the street. “That one.”
“I know,” Xu Hongrui said, standing next to him. “I often see you.”
"Okay." Li Wenyang buttoned up his clothes. "It's almost time for breakfast. I have to go back now. I'll come back to help you again tomorrow."
He decided to record a video to see if there were any ghosts in the world, and maybe it was just Xu Hongrui sleepwalking or something.
"Okay, be careful on your way."
Li Wenyang chuckled, "It's such a short distance, you think I'd get hurt?"
"No," Xu Hongrui said honestly, making one feel guilty. "I just want you to go back safely."
"Hmm." Li Wenyang had already reached the door and closed it behind him. He would briefly mention the matter to his master's wife after he returned.
The teacher's wife only said that he was a pitiful child with delusions and the like.
Li Wenyang didn't take it seriously anymore and continued knocking on the door the next night.
The door opened quickly, and Xu Hongrui, who seemed to have been waiting for a long time, looked excited.
"I took a nap today and I really don't feel that way anymore."
"Really?" It seems that those exorcism items really are the culprits, giving Xu Hongrui a psychological suggestion that there are ghosts in this world, and that they are right in his room.
"That's great! I brought my camera with me. I'll film it tonight and see. If there's really nothing there, then I don't need to come tomorrow." Li Wenyang was happy for him too, as he was quite scared, since it was about ghosts and monsters.
"Hmm." Xu Hongrui's voice suddenly dropped, as if he was unhappy again.
"What's wrong?" Li Wenyang asked, completely bewildered. "You should be happy to have nothing, right?"
"It's okay." Xu Hongrui pulled him into the house. "I bought you some clothes, try them on."
He was worried that Li Wenyang wouldn't be able to fit into them, so he bought two sets: one in the plus size that Li Wenyang mentioned, and one in the regular size.
Li Wenyang tried it on; the extra-large sleeves fit perfectly, but the waist was too big, and the extra-large waist fit perfectly, but the sleeves were too short.
"How could this happen?" Xu Hongrui was heartbroken. "I specifically bought two sets."
Li Wenyang was used to it. Although he was still a teenager, he was almost as tall as an adult. However, he was somewhere between an adult and a teenager, and his clothes were somewhere between plus size and extra-plus size, making it extremely difficult for him to buy clothes.
"Just adjust the waist area a bit." Li Wenyang pointed, indicating that it was about two fingers longer.
"But I don't know how." (ー△ー;)
"Who said you had to fix it? Take it out and get it fixed."
"But I want to help you."
“Then…then you can try it.” Li Wenyang unzipped his jacket and was about to take it off when Xu Hongrui stopped him. “You don’t need to take it off. It can be mended like this.”
"Hmm." Li Wenyang stood up and pulled up the excess part. "It's almost done sewing it here."
"Okay." Xu Hongrui threaded the needle, looking quite professional, and his sewing posture was particularly serious, though it was only in appearance.
"Hiss~" Li Wenyang gasped, "It pricked me."
"Huh?" Xu Hongrui was startled. "I didn't mean to."
"I know, you can continue."
It took more than half an hour to sew, and the stitches were wrinkled and didn't look good. But since it's worn inside and can't be seen, it'll do.
It's mainly about the sentiment behind it, and we can't let it down.
The two then ate and drank some more, and finally pointed the camera at the head of the bed, turned off the lights, and went to sleep.
The next morning, they got up early and squeezed together to watch the video. The whole night was a bit long. Li Wenyang tried to fast forward, but the picture remained still. Actually, it wasn't that the picture was still, but that the two of them were fast asleep and didn't move at all.
Around midnight, there was a sudden movement from Xu Hongrui's side, so Li Wenyang quickly pressed the pause button and rewound to watch it again.
In the video, Xu Hongrui gets out of bed, yawns, walks over to Li Wenyang, and tucks one of his legs, which was hanging off the bed, back under the covers.
Then he glanced at the video, walked over, and snapped it shut.
Why did you turn off the video?
"I...I didn't?" Xu Hongrui was stunned.
"Go back and watch it again."
The two stepped back again, this time looking more closely. Li Wenyang noticed a detail: "Didn't you already get up? Whose head is that on the bed?"
"Huh?" Xu Hongrui saw it too when he said that. "Really? I'm already up, why is there still someone in bed?"
Li Wenyang was startled. He slept on the left side, with his arms and legs exposed, making him easy to recognize. Xu Hongrui liked to sleep with his face covered, only his head showing, which was dark and indistinct, but it was definitely his head.
Xu Hongrui's hand trembled, and the camera fell to the ground.
