Not only did they glare at him, but they also looked for opportunities to teach him a lesson, treating him like a practice subject.
Could it be him who infiltrated yesterday?
Otherwise, why would anyone be so particular?
As evening approached and dismissal was imminent, the instructor indeed spoke the truth: "Your awareness of security is far too weak, especially Fang Rong, Li Wenyang, Duan Yu, and Zhou Jian. The four of you are positioned near the windows and doorways. If someone were to sneak in, you would be the first to die."
The instructor had a stern face throughout. "Don't take any chances. You must always be vigilant, no matter when or where. Be alert at the slightest sound. Luckily, it was me the first two times. If it had really been the enemy, you guys would all be dead."
It really was him. Speaking of which, the instructor is amazing. He can actually turn invisible and carries a drug that can make people faint. I don't know if it's a natural ability or something he developed through medication.
"Starting tomorrow, you can no longer be so idle. Begin intensive training to identify dangerous creatures. Dismissed!"
Before leaving, the instructors asked them to make a video record and talk about their thoughts and feelings over the past two days.
Everyone went back to their dorms and did what they were doing as usual, except for Fang Rong, who took it seriously and started recording a video earnestly.
“Two more people have left. They probably just couldn’t adapt to life here.” Fang Rong said with some sadness. “Actually, I couldn’t adapt at first either. I developed eczema, but Li Wenyang and Fang Hua treated me together and I recovered.”
Afterwards, none of the three spoke of it, but Fang Rong was very grateful to them. If it weren't for them, he might have been deported back to China by now.
“I didn’t know before, I thought being alone was the most comfortable, but now I realize how good it feels to have friends.” Fang Rong smiled. “I will try my best to stay.”
He suddenly remembered the instructor. "Right, the one who infiltrated yesterday was indeed one of our own, and it was the instructor himself. He wanted to teach us how to defend ourselves, but he lost face and has been giving me trouble all day." He then thought of Fang Hua. "It's all thanks to Fang Hua. If it weren't for him, I would definitely have been scolded today."
He decided to talk about his daily life. "Every meal is meat, and I'm getting a little tired of it. I asked the chef, and he said that it's hard to tell if some plants are poisonous. Sometimes, what locals eat is not poisonous, but what we eat can be fatal."
On the contrary, some of the prey is easy to identify; they are mostly herbivores and the majority are not poisonous.
The water is different too. The water here is thick and contains a lot of minerals, which is very nourishing. That's why the locals are all tall and strong.
I've never seen one. Li Wenyang also said there are flying dragons. We call them orcs, but they call themselves dragons.
Of course, he hadn't seen it either; the two of us kept watch for many days..."
"Actually, it's only been three days," Li Wenyang corrected, sticking his head out from the top bunk.
“Okay, it’s only been three days.” Fang Rong raised an eyebrow and continued, “That kid Li Wenyang has hooked up with another handsome guy. He’s itching to get his ass turned up every day.”
Li Wenyang threw an orange at him, which almost hit him.
"This kid's angry, hahaha." Fang Rong said to himself, "My neighbor's brother is also sick, but he won't let us tell the instructor, he doesn't want to leave." Because treating superpowers is too strenuous, neither Li Wenyang nor Fang Hua were willing to help.
Of course, he could have been deported, but he insisted on staying.
"I can't persuade him. I feel like he's playing with fire with his life," Fang Rong said softly.
"Want to go take a shower?" Li Wenyang climbed down at some point, a towel draped over his shoulder.
"My buddy told me to take a shower, so I'm not recording anymore." Fang Rong turned off the video diary.
The instructors asked them to record some combat experiences, the knowledge they had learned, and self-reflection. He wrote a lot of things, but didn't get to the point.
"Have you finished recording your video?" Fang Rong asked, following Li Wenyang with a basin in her hand.
"This instructor doesn't check, so why be so serious?" Li Wenyang said dismissively.
"This is a kind of affirmation for myself, and I can brag about it when I go back."
"Forget it." Li Wenyang didn't care. "Being low-key is the coolest way to be cool."
It was a bit hot. Fang Rong waved her towel and said, "I feel like I see you in heaven."
"Alright, enough fooling around." Li Wenyang suddenly hung the towel on the wall. "Do you want to go out?"
"What do you mean?" Does it mean going outside?
"It's just going outside," Li Wenyang said, looking at him with exasperation. "Did you really think it was for taking a bath?"
Fang Rong then realized, "It seems I was too naive."
"Do you want to come?"
"Isn't this a bad idea?" Fang Rong hesitated. "It's so dangerous outside, what if we don't make it back?"
"What's there to be afraid of if I die before you?" The color of Li Wenyang's body changed, gradually blending into the wall beside him.
"What am I supposed to do when you make things so convenient for me?"
"Don't you have a mech?" Li Wenyang knew him quite well. "Activate stealth mode."
"Oh right, how could I forget?" He hadn't used the mecha for two days, and with so many functions, he'd forgotten some of the less frequently used ones.
"Let's go then." Fang Rong was also looking forward to going out. "It would be good to catch a bird or something. The food in the cafeteria is terrible, and we always find plastic in our food."
Fang Rong complained incessantly, saying that none of the many seasonings he brought were used.
"Won't there be a problem at this late hour?" After all, it's so dark outside, and many large animals hunt at night.
"There's nothing we can do about it. Who has time during the day?" The instructors keep a close eye on us, requiring us to report three to five times a day. If we disappear for even a moment, they immediately catch us.
"Then you go first, if you're going to die, you die first." Fang Rong shamelessly pushed him forward.
