Chapter 5: Staffing the Palace

"Oh? The strongest warrior?" The voice came again, no longer as majestic and solemn as when it questioned them just now.

Hearing this, Qiong secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He thought, "Isn't he going to get beaten again?" This wasn't a question of whether he could resist or not. This was like yelling "Here's my head!" while giving someone a head. It was horribly stupid.

Suddenly, Qiong found that the bloodstains on his body were once again covered by blue mist. His whole body tensed up instantly and he entered combat state.

"Don't be nervous, you are hurt by my mental power, let them heal you." The gentle female voice sounded again, and layers of fluorescent light appeared in the ocean. They gathered towards Qiong and gently wrapped his body. With just a light brush, all the scars on Qiong's body completely disappeared.

Just as Qiong and his men were astonished by this miracle, a radiance suddenly appeared above the sea. Although it was dazzling, it did not hurt the eyes and was filled with a holy aura.

After the light faded, Qiong saw a figure slowly emerging not far in front of them.

Many years later, Qiong still recalls the scene. Back then, a mermaid, full of light and tenderness, knocked open his tightly closed heart, letting a ray of setting sun shine down. From then on, his heart belonged to one person, filled with both joy and pain.

The mermaid's long light golden hair floated up and down as she swam, and the figures of Qiong and her group were clearly reflected in her light blue eyes. The fish tail was glowing softly, and a light blue halo surrounded her, adding a sense of mystery and nobility to her.

"What is your purpose in coming here?" The ethereal voice in the ears of every strange beast brought them back to their senses.

Qiong immediately knelt on one knee, placed her hand on her left atrium, and said loyally, "Respected Lord-level Exotic Beast Guixu Lingqiao, I am a warrior of the White Shark Clan. Your palace is in need of guards. I am willing to lead the warriors of my clan to serve as your guard."

Feng Qingyue: "..." You also know that I am a lord-level boss. If there is something I can't defend against, are you rushing to be cannon fodder?!

After Qiong finished speaking, he cautiously raised his eyes to look at the woman in front of him. Seeing that she was deep in thought, thinking about something, he actually felt nervous.

Nervous? It was a strange feeling. As the strongest warrior of the White Shark lineage, he shouldn't be nervous. Now, why was he nervous about her answer?

Before Qiong could think clearly, the woman nodded and said, "Okay." The answer was unexpectedly quick. Qiong's brain froze for a moment, but he reacted immediately. While breathing a sigh of relief, he did not forget to direct the actions of his subordinates.

Just like that, Feng Qingyue had her own housekeeper and bodyguard, and could officially start playing dirty. (The author doesn't allow playing dirty.)

-----------------

The weather is fine, so it's a good time to go out.

The weather is really good today, the sun is shining, and there are no clouds in the sky. The ocean is shimmering under the sunlight, which is beautiful.

Feng Qingyue swam leisurely on the seabed, languid and noble. Upon seeing her, all the sea creatures bowed down in worship, showing the highest respect for a supreme being.

She walked and stopped along the way, and soon came to the edge of a cliff. Looking down, the cliff was unfathomable, like a huge abyss, waiting to swallow and crush anything that entered.

Feng Qingyue has absolute control over water. She senses that the water here is extremely violent, with turbulent undercurrents, and will mercilessly tear apart anyone who dares to intrude.

Perhaps because of his natural curiosity and extraordinary strength, Feng Qingyue calmly transformed into a human form, stood on the huge rock at the edge of the cliff, and wondered how to get down.

The area beneath the cliff was extremely terrifying. Because the sunlight could not reach the depths, it was pitch black and lifeless, like a quiet place carved out by the god of death to judge sinners.

The strange thing is that it seems that all the strange beasts will not pass directly over the cliff. They all take a detour around it, as if they will die if they are contaminated by it.
