Chapter 154 Kidnapping

Overall, Jiang Sui and Xia Wanning had a very pleasant day.

The play was pretty good and was more attractive than those plays with the theme of resentful women. Xia Wanning said that she wanted to set up her own drama troupe. This was the first play she had written.

"Sui Sui, what do you think?"

"Very good, it seems that there is still a heroine living in Wan Ning's heart. I do have a good play script. Do you want to listen to it?"

Jiang Sui thought that he could share the script of The Female Prime Minister with her, and she might be interested.

Of course Xia Wanning was interested, and she immediately expressed her desire to listen.

So Jiang Sui simply told her about it again. After listening to it, Xia Wanning thought that this was a good book, as it had conflict, inspiration, and the kind of melodrama that everyone loves to read.

She asked Jiang Sui to tell her the details in detail, as she wanted to type out the book as well.

Before they knew it, the day was over as they chatted. As it was getting dark, it was time for Jiang Sui to go home.

Although Xia Wan Ning was reluctant to leave her, she also knew that she was a family person and it would not be easy for her to accompany her outside all the time.

But she still wanted to stay with her for a while longer. The two of them got along very well. Jiang Sui knew what she liked and they had a lot of common topics about opera.

Jiang Sui controlled Xia Wanning for the entire day by relying on the many different types of classic plays he had seen in modern times.

So she decided to send Jiang Sui home personally.

The two of them got on the carriage and set off with a few guards.

In the carriage, the two girls were still chatting animatedly, and their undisguised laughter could be heard from time to time.

The carriage drove out of the east city and into the west city, and a group of men in black appeared on the roofs of the houses on both sides of the street.

They are all good at climbing walls and flying over rooftops, and they all seem to have good martial arts skills.

Suddenly, the carriage jolted and was forced to stop. The two maids outside were so frightened that they turned pale and couldn't help screaming.

Xia Wanning immediately put away her smile and became serious. Soon, the sound of swords clashing could be heard outside the carriage.

They only brought four guards, but the other side had more than a dozen, and they were obviously no match for them.

It was also the first time that Jiang Sui had seen such a situation. Xia Wanning held her in her arms and protected her, comforting her in a low voice.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here!"

The other party came with bad intentions and I don’t know what they are trying to do.

However, Jiang Sui was implicated by her, and she had the obligation to protect her.

Her two maids had been knocked unconscious and dragged to the roadside, and her four guards were also tied up. The man in black drove the coachman out of the carriage and then drove the carriage away from the city.

Horses were not allowed to ride in the city, and even carriages had to move slowly. There were many pedestrians on the road at this point, but they were all frightened by the fast-moving carriages and ran around in panic, screaming all the way.

"Who are you? Are you after money or something else? Why did you kidnap us?"

The carriage door was locked, so Xia Wanning could only knock on the door and ask loudly.

The carriage was running fast and was very bumpy, and the two people were tossed around in the carriage.

Jiang Sui was still relatively calm. She kept comforting herself that Xia Wanning had the aura of a heroine and would definitely be fine, so she should be fine too.

"Ms. Xia, I advise you to behave yourself. We won't do anything to you for now. We just ask you to go with us. The carriage is running fast now, so don't even think about escaping. If you fall off the carriage, you might break your arms and legs at best, or even lose your life. That's all I have to say!" The kidnapper who was driving outside threatened.

From the information revealed in his words, Xia Wan Ning knew that their target was not her, but to take her as a hostage. Their purpose was probably to coerce Helian Jing.

As for what benefits they wanted to get, she didn't know. She was just a cannon fodder.

The more Xia Wan Ning thought about it, the angrier she became. She had been tricked by him again. He had come to Jezhou with a thunderous method and brought many people down. That would have been fine, but he was ruthless and cruel in his actions. She was afraid that those people had really no other choice but to resort to such a desperate measure.

It just implicated Jiang Sui, who suffered unexpected disaster along with himself.

"Well, the young lady with me is innocent. She is just a commoner in Jeju. She has nothing to do with your grudge. You need a hostage to restrain Helian Jing. With my status, I am enough. Why implicate innocent people? Just let her go and I will go with you."

She wanted to pick Jiang Sui out, but the people outside were not affected at all and ignored her.

Moreover, more hostages are better, Helian Jing will not implicate innocent people.

When Jiang Sui heard Xia Wan Ning say this, he realized that she was a very righteous person. After all, she was the heroine and had good intentions.

Soon, the carriage left the city. There should be people waiting to meet them inside and outside the city, so no soldiers or officers stopped them from leaving the city. Once they left the city, the world would truly belong to others.

The carriage had traveled a long way. Outside, besides the sound of the carriage wheels, there was also the sound of horse hooves coming and going. There were at least twenty people on the carriage.

Finally, the carriage stopped and the locks of the doors were opened. Several ferocious-looking old women came in. Without saying a word, they took ropes and tied the two men's hands behind their backs, then carried them down.

They were in a suburban farm, which was guarded inside and outside by men in black, at least dozens of them.

The two of them were sent to a room, which was fully equipped with furniture and beds, but the doors and windows were nailed shut, probably because they were afraid that they would run away.

But they were still polite and loosened the rope as soon as they entered the door. There was food and drink on the table, and a charcoal fire was lit to keep them warm.

They probably knew that Xia Wanning had the Marquis's mansion behind her and that her maternal grandparents had financial power, so they did not dare to slack off on her and even arranged for a maid to contact them.

This should be considered as kidnapping her to negotiate with Helian Jing. These kidnappers did not get the results they wanted, and they will definitely not endanger their lives.

The two of them were pushed into the room, and then the door was violently closed. Several old women were guarding the door, and many men in black were walking back and forth in the yard.

Since we are here, we might as well make the best of it. Jiang Sui is only worried about the fact that he has not returned home for a long time. The Xiao family must be worried sick, right?

The one who felt the most guilty was Xia Wanning. She came to comfort Jiang Sui immediately:

"I'm sorry, Suisui, I've implicated you. If I hadn't been pestering you and insisting on sending you off, you wouldn't have been captured here with me. But don't worry, I would rather die than let you get hurt!" She made a swearing gesture.

Jiang Sui collapsed on the chaise longue, and she could still laugh at this moment.

"We are just bargaining chips, so our lives shouldn't be in danger. Look, this room is fully stocked with food and drinks. Let's just wait patiently for someone to rescue us!"

When Jiang Sui encountered this situation, she didn't show any panic at all, she was still so calm and composed.

Xia Wanning admired her new friend, who was indeed different from the others!
