Chapter 161 Young love seems to end in vain

Su Yanqing really wanted to explain it clearly, but he had no chance. He couldn't even see Xiao Lanlan and could only worry.

Xiao Lanlan sat at the Xiao family until noon, with her door closed until the servant beside her came to tell her that there were guests at home and Madam Su called him back to entertain them.

He went to pay New Year's greetings to his grandfather early in the morning, and then came to the Xiao family. Firstly, he had been away for a while and wanted to pay New Year's greetings to his benefactor's family. Secondly, he wanted to meet Xiao Lanlan, but after arriving, he had no idea how he had offended her, and she seemed to not want to see him.

Jiang Sui knew exactly why this happened, but she couldn't interfere.

Su Yanqing had no choice but to go home to entertain the guests. He said hello to Xiao's father and mother and prepared to leave.

Xiao Lanlan heard the noise in the room and knew her chance had come, so she chased out with the box.

Xiao's mother looked at her in some confusion. She was about to ask her what she was doing in such a hurry, but was stopped by Jiang Sui.

Jiang Sui shook his head at her, signaling her not to ask more questions.

Although Xiao's mother didn't understand why, she still held back for Jiang Sui's sake.

Su Yanqing had already boarded the carriage. Just as he sat down and the coachman was about to set off, he heard Xiao Lanlan shouting from behind:

"Wait a moment!"

Hearing her voice, Su Yanqing's originally gloomy expression suddenly brightened up again.

"Stop now." He ordered the driver.

The carriage stopped, Xiao Lanlan got on, and Su Yanqing also got off the carriage. He looked at her with a smile, thinking in his mind how to explain to her.

Xiao Lanlan put her hands behind her back, still holding the box in her hand.

"Lanlan, more than a month ago, my grandfather sent me to Xiangzhou to inspect the Jishantang branch. I left in a hurry and didn't have time to tell you. It was my fault."

He thought she was angry because he had been silent for so long.

In fact, it was not the case. Xiao Lanlan lowered her head and bit her lips tightly. She mustered up her courage and stuffed the box into his arms:

"I don't like your hairpin, so I'm returning it to you now!"

It was such a brief sentence that before Su Yanqing could even react, he had already turned around and trotted away.

He stretched out his hand to retain her, but his hand was empty.

Looking down at the box in his arms, he couldn't understand why this happened. It was fine more than a month ago, why is it like this now?

It would be a lie to say that he was not panicking. He truly loved Xiao Lanlan. Now that she had returned the hairpin he had given her as a token of his love for her, it was clear what she meant.

Xiao Lanlan ran back, closed the door and bolted it, fearing that Su Yanqing would catch up and ask her questions. She didn't know what to say and could only escape.

She didn't say that because she was a coward. Since the other family looked down on her, she wouldn't be the one to throw herself at him.

But she knew in her heart that if she returned the hairpin, there would be no future between them.

It would be a lie to say that she didn't feel sad. Her feelings were real. The more she loved him, the sadder she felt inside.

The young love seemed to be ending in vain, and the suffocating feeling was lingering.

Xiao Lanlan returned to her room with a numb expression and did not come out for the whole day.

In contrast, Su Yanqing was much calmer. He kept thinking along the way, what went wrong? He had to find out the truth.

Anyway, he won't give up easily...

Along the way, he thought more and more that something was wrong. He sorted out his thoughts carefully and remembered that it seemed that only his mother knew his feelings for Xiao Lanlan and expressed strong opposition to it. With his mother's temper, he was afraid that she would take advantage of his absence from Jeju to secretly cause trouble for Miss Xiao.

Thinking of this, his face became as gloomy as water.

Seeing his sister like this, Xiao Hechuan would be lying if he said he didn't feel sorry for her. She had lived such a hard life in her previous life, and finally she could be a normal person in this life. He only hoped that she could be happy every day and have everything she wanted. But now it seemed that someone was interfering and trying to destroy her inner expectations.

Xiao Hechuan knew that he was looked down upon simply because of his family background, but given time, as he built up his own business, people would rush to cling to his high position.

Su Yanqing is a good person. He is not ungrateful and talented, but his mother is a bad person. He feels more and more that he should become stronger as soon as possible so that others will not dare to look down on his family.

In a nutshell, if he can't find the right one, he won't force Xiao Lanlan to get married. He can support her and give her protection for a lifetime, but if she really likes him and insists on getting him, he will do his best to help her get him.

No matter what method, as long as it does not harm others, it's fine.

After being reborn, Xiao Hechuan became paranoid in some aspects, more sinister and unpredictable.

Jiang Sui waited for a whole day and finally waited until night. She washed up and lay down in bed early, waiting to question Xiao Hechuan about what incredible thing she had done last night.

Xiao Hechuan had been reading by lamplight at night, absorbed in a book. These were some rare and famous books that Su Yanqing had come over during the day and specially brought him. Jiang Sui had been waiting for a long time and felt his eyelids were about to droop, but the man hadn't even shown any intention of washing up and going to bed.

Xiao Hechuan had long noticed the restlessness of a certain little girl, and had been trying not to smile.

She provoked me last night and kept me awake most of the night. Today I must get back at her and make her feel a little better.

Seeing that she really couldn't wait any longer, Xiao Hechuan put down the book, slowly got up and went to fetch water to wash his hands, face and feet.

When he finished all this, blew out the light and lay down, Jiang Sui immediately asked about what had failed this morning:

"Tsurukawa, what did I do last night? Can you please tell me?"

"Do you really want to know?" Xiao Hechuan asked her one last time.

"I want to know!" Jiang Sui said firmly. She had been itching for the whole day.

"Okay, come here and get closer to me." There was still a distance of two fists between the two of them. Jiang Sui, who had never been wary of Xiao Hechuan, moved closer to him obediently.

As soon as she came over, Xiao Hechuan straightened up, put his hands on both sides of her shoulders, and let his hair fall down to her neck:

"You were drunk last night and flirted with me, just like... like this..."

His voice was hoarse and very seductive, and he slowly approached her.

Before Jiang Sui could react, his lips were blocked by someone.

Xiao Hechuan is not going to play the game of light kissing with you, his kiss is so lingering and elusive, Jiang Sui's brain is completely shut down!!!
