Chapter 623 Xuanzang: I came here to spread the Dharma on behalf of the Great Qin!

Monk Sha nodded, holding the magic staff to subdue demons tightly, with a serious expression, and guarded Xuanzang's side.

Only Sun Wukong glanced at it with his fiery eyes, sneered, and didn't care at all.

Xuanzang looked even calmer. He just looked up at the holy mountain shrouded in dark clouds without saying a word.

Not long.

A ray of Buddha's light descended from the top of the mountain and transformed into a welcoming Buddha wearing a cassock.

The Buddha forced a smile and clasped his hands together before Xuanzang and his disciples. "I have come to greet the holy monk from the East in compliance with the command of the Tathagata Buddha."

"Thank you." Xuanzang replied indifferently.

Xuanzang was naturally very familiar with this sacred mountain. After all, he had awakened his memories of his previous life long ago.

only.

Things have changed and people have changed.

He is no longer Jin Chanzi, but Xuanzang of the Qin Dynasty.

The Jieying Buddha led the way, and the four masters and disciples followed closely behind, stepping onto the stone steps leading to the top of Lingshan Mountain.

Along the way, the atmosphere was extremely weird.

On both sides of the mountain path, there should be Bodhi Arhat and the guardian deity of the temple.

But now, they were Buddhist soldiers with murderous looks on their faces and weapons in their hands. Their eyes did not look like they were welcoming the holy monk, but rather like they were looking at four prisoners who were about to be sent to the execution ground.

Zhu Bajie and Monk Sha became more and more frightened as they walked, and cold sweat broke out on their palms.

Sun Wukong carried the golden cudgel on his shoulder, whistled, and looked fearless.

Xuanzang still had that calm expression as he walked steadily and powerfully, step by step.

finally.

The magnificent and golden Leiyin Temple, yet exuding a chilling aura, appeared before them.

The moment they stepped into the temple.

Buzz!

Inside the hall, tens of thousands of eyes converged on him.

There is scrutiny, anger, and unwillingness.

What's more, there is boundless murderous intent!

Endless pressure, like a real tsunami, hit the four masters and apprentices head-on.

Under this pressure, Zhu Bajie and Sha Monk's faces turned pale in an instant and their legs became weak.

Sun Wukong's whole body trembled, and the unruly demonic energy rose into the sky, pushing back the pressure.

Only Xuanzang, in the face of the pressure as strong as a mountain and as heavy as the sea, did not even sway the corner of his clothes.

He simply raised his head calmly, his gaze passing over the layers of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and directly fell on the figure on the highest point, the ninth-grade lotus platform.

Many Treasures Tathagata.

The moment their eyes met, there was a deathly silence in the Great Leiyin Temple.

The air seemed to freeze, leaving only the silent confrontation.

Zhu Bajie and Monk Sha were already terrified by such a scene. If Sun Wukong had not been in the front, they would probably have collapsed to the ground on the spot.

finally.

On the main throne, Duobao Tathagata slowly spoke, breaking the suffocating silence. His voice was grand and solemn, echoing throughout the hall, as if containing supreme Buddhist principles: "Jin Chanzi, you have endured ninety-nine eighty-one tribulations, spent ninety-nine years, and traveled a hundred and eight thousand miles. Today, you have finally arrived at Lingshan, and your merits are complete."

"When you retrieve the Three Treasures of Buddhism and return to the East to save all living beings, this calamity will be completely over. You will also be able to attain Buddhahood and achieve supreme enlightenment."

As soon as he opened his mouth, he directly defined the matter, trying to bring everything back to the track he expected, which had already been predetermined.

He wants to tell Xuanzang that you are Jin Chanzi.

Your mission is to obtain Buddhist scriptures and bring them eastward.

This is destiny, and it is also your fate.

This is also Tathagata's last struggle.

However.

After hearing this, Xuanzang's expression did not change at all.

He just looked at Duobao Tathagata calmly and shook his head slowly: "Buddha, you are wrong."

For a moment, there was an uproar in the hall, and countless angry eyes were looked at Xuanzang.

Wrong?

How dare he say that Buddha was wrong?

"presumptuous!"

"How dare you, a monstrous monk, disrespect my Buddha!"

"How dare a mere mortal criticize the Buddha!"

The sounds of scolding came one after another.

Only the Bodhisattva Guanyin on the lotus platform still had her brows lowered and her eyes downcast, the water bottle in her hand motionless, as if everything in the outside world had nothing to do with her.

After all, she had secretly submitted to the Qin Dynasty.

Xuanzang turned a deaf ear to the angry shouts around him. His gaze remained fixed on Duobao Tathagata. He said calmly, "I am not here to seek scriptures."

"But...preaching."

boom!

Upon hearing this, all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas present became angry.

Not to obtain scriptures, but to preach?

What doctrine are you preaching?

Does he think that he can spread his so-called "Daqin Buddhism" to our Buddhist holy land by his own efforts?

absurd!

Arrogant!

A hot-tempered Buddha could no longer hold back: "Golden Chanzi! You have fallen into the devil's way, there is no salvation!"

He stood up suddenly, golden light shone from his body, and the pressure of the Golden Immortal of Great Luo burst out. He was about to take action to suppress Xuanzang on the spot.

Duobao Tathagata raised his hand to stop the furious Buddha and signaled everyone to be quiet. He stared at Xuanzang and said, "Jin Chanzi, it seems that these hundred years of reincarnation have made you forget your own identity."

"This journey westward is ordained by Heaven and the command of the saints. How can a mere mortal monk like you confuse right and wrong and speak nonsense?"

Hearing this, Xuanzang chuckled softly, "What is my identity? I am just an ordinary monk from the Great Qin of the East. To seek justice for all living beings, I have come to the West to preach the scriptures and teach the Dharma."

When these words were spoken, everyone in the room was shocked.

Duobao Tathagata was so angry that he was shaking all over, and the lotus platform under his seat began to shake violently.

Xuanzang ignored Tathagata's cannibalistic gaze and continued, "On my journey west, I saw forests of bones and rivers of blood. I saw demons wreaking havoc, feasting on humans."

"I see believers are so foolish that they sell their children just to worship a clay statue of gold."

"It is clear that the Western Dharma and the Buddha's Dharma are not suitable for ordinary people. It is better to practice the Dharma of our Great Qin."

Duobao Tathagata finally lost his patience and slammed the armrest of the lotus platform, shouting angrily: "What nonsense! Xuanzang! Stop spreading rumors and misleading people! Don't think that you can run wild in my Western Buddhist sect just because you have Qin Ting as your backer!"

Xuanzang ignored Tathagata's words and turned to Sun Wukong and said, "Wukong, bring me the Great Qin Scripture."

"Okay, Master!"

Sun Wukong had been waiting impatiently for a long time. Hearing this, he let out a strange cry and took out a jade scroll that was shining with purple and gold light from his ear.

As Sun Wukong threw it into the air, the scroll swelled up in the wind and instantly turned into a huge scroll that covered the sky and the sun, slowly unfolding above the entire Leiyin Temple.

Buzz!

The moment the scroll unfolded, an aura completely different from the compassionate aura of Buddhism burst out.

There are no Buddhas or Bodhisattvas, and no Sanskrit chants on the scroll.

Some are magnificent paintings.

Some ancestors drilled wood to make fire, and in the darkness, they lit the first ray of civilization.

There was Shennong who tasted hundreds of herbs and pioneered medicine for the people.

There was Dayu who dredged the flood, passed by his home three times without entering, established the Nine Provinces, and laid the foundation of humanity.

There was the First Emperor who swept across the world, standardized the wheel gauge and the writing system, built the Great Wall, suppressed the national destiny, and established eternal peace for the human race!

There are also the brave warriors of the Qin Dynasty who fight in all directions and expand the territory.

These words do not contain profound Buddhist principles or mysterious Taoist rhymes.

What they do have is to tell the world that people's destiny should be in their own hands, rather than relying on illusory gods and Buddhas.

Tell the world that all people are born equal and there should be no distinction between high and low.

Tell the world that people should have an unyielding backbone, not worship heaven and earth, not respect ghosts and gods, and only believe in themselves!

This is the "Buddha Dharma" of the Qin Dynasty!

This is the true principle of humanity!

Boom!

At this moment, the already shaky Buddhist fortune above Xiniu Hezhou let out a wail of unbearable pressure and began to tremble violently.

Cracks visible to the naked eye spread wildly above the invisible golden cloud of Buddhism's luck.

Having lost the suppression of the Twelve-Rank Golden Lotus of Merit, and being impacted by the Sutra of Humanity, which points directly to the origin, the fortune of Buddhism has reached the brink of collapse.

Inside the Great Leiyin Temple.

Countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, when they sensed the decline of luck, were all shocked. They felt a tightness in their chests and their Buddha power did not flow smoothly.

Those Arhats and Buddhist soldiers with weaker cultivation even spat out golden Buddha blood on the spot, their faces turned pale.

"This is a magic trick that confuses people!"

"Kill him! Kill this evil monk!"

"If this beast is not eliminated, our Buddhist sect will be in danger!"

Countless Buddhas whose minds were eroded by the calamity energy could no longer remain calm.

Their eyes were bloodshot, murderous intent was boiling in them, and Buddha's light surged around them, transforming into golden killing powers. They were about to tear Xuanzang and his disciples, along with the picture of humanity, into pieces.

The entire Great Leiyin Temple was instantly engulfed by violent energy.

"Noisy!"

Sun Wukong roared angrily and slammed the golden cudgel in his hand.

A powerful demonic energy rose into the sky, forcibly pushing back the magical powers that filled the sky.

He swept his fiery eyes over, his fierce gleam flashing, "Who is not afraid of death, dare to touch a hair of my master and see!"

Zhu Bajie and Monk Sha also took out their weapons and stood in front of Xuanzang to protect him. They looked nervous, but they did not retreat a single step.

"Stop it!"

Duobao Tathagata roared, and the pressure of the quasi-saint's great perfection exploded, forcibly suppressing all the rioting Buddhas.

He stared at Xuanzang intently, and his once solemn face had turned ashen.

He took a deep breath, suppressed the murderous intent churning in his heart, and made a final effort, "Xuanzang."

"I'll ask you this one last time."

"You, really want to abandon Buddhism, join your so-called humanity, teach the Dharma for Qin Ting, and become an enemy of the orthodoxy of the Three Realms?"

"Are you really unwilling to accept my Buddhist canonization, return to the position of Golden Cicada, and attain the supreme Buddhahood?"

Facing the question, Xuanzang remained calm and said, "Buddha, I have already made it clear."

"Golden Cicada, it's all a thing of the past, vanished into thin air."

"I am Xuanzang of the Great Qin."

"What I believe in is not the Buddha of Lingshan, but the Buddha of humanity. I came here only to pass on the true scriptures of the Great Qin Humanity, and I have no other intentions."

The words fell.

Many Treasures Tathagata understood it completely.

There is no turning point.

In this catastrophe, the Buddhist sect lost.

Lost miserably and completely.

He slowly closed his eyes.

When he opened his eyes again, there was no mercy in them anymore, only endless murderous intent: "What a great Qin Xuanzang..."

"Since you are determined to seek death, I will grant your wish!"

Duobao Tathagata no longer had any hesitation.

He suddenly raised his right hand.

The moment the palm was raised, it swelled in the wind and turned into a giant golden palm that covered the entire Leiyin Temple.

In the palm of his hand, the Pure Land of Buddha appeared, and billions of Buddhas chanted. A terrifying pressure that could suppress everything for eternity came crashing down.

He was determined to kill Master Xuanzang and his disciples on the spot regardless of the consequences!

The power of the Buddha Kingdom in the palm of his hand distorts time and space and restricts the laws.

In front of this palm, the Golden Immortal is nothing but an ant, and even an ordinary Quasi-Saint has to temporarily avoid it.

"not good!"

Sun Wukong's face changed drastically.

He could feel that under the terrifying pressure, even moving a little had become extremely difficult.

He poured all his magical powers into the golden cudgel in his hand and the blue lotus flag on his body, ready to fight to the death.

Zhu Bajie and Monk Sha were so oppressed by the pressure that their bones were creaking all over. They almost fell to their knees on the spot, their eyes full of despair.

However.

Xuanzang, who was at the center of the pressure, still kept his back straight.

He simply looked calmly at the Buddhist world bearing down upon him, his face devoid of any fear. Instead, a hint of sarcasm appeared. "Have you finally torn off that disguise of compassion?"

"Because of shame and anger, he wanted to kill people to silence them."

"Is this the true face of you Buddhists?"

His voice was not loud, but it was clearly heard by every Buddha present.

Upon hearing this, Duobao Tathagata was furious and increased the force in his hands: "Evil monk! You are about to die, yet you still dare to act so arrogantly!"

The golden giant palm fell down at an accelerated speed, and was about to crush the four masters and apprentices into powder.

It was at this critical moment.

A calm voice, tinged with a hint of joking, suddenly rang out from outside the Great Leiyin Temple, reaching everyone's ears clearly: "Duobao, it's been years since we last met, and your temper is still as bad as ever."

"If word gets out that you've dealt such a heavy blow to a mortal monk who's been sent by Heaven to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures, aren't you afraid that the sentient beings in the Three Realms will laugh at you?"

Along with the sound, the golden giant palm of Duobao Tathagata that was suppressing him stopped in mid-air and could no longer move forward an inch.

Duobao Tathagata was shocked. He suddenly looked up and looked outside the hall, "Who!"

I saw a slender figure standing quietly at the Great Leiyin Temple.

The man was wearing a black dragon-patterned suit, with black hair draped over his shoulders, a handsome face, and an extraordinary temperament.

He just stood there casually, yet seemed to be the center of this world.

He did not release any pressure, but within the hall, the dozens of ancient quasi-saint Buddhas and hundreds of great bodhisattvas all felt a throbbing sensation from the depths of their souls the moment they saw him.

It was as if what they were facing was not a person, but an unfathomable chaotic universe.

Duobao Tathagata's pupils shrank: "Zhao Feng!"

How could he come here!

How dare he come here!

This is the sacred place of Lingshan, the stronghold of Buddhism!

Zhao Feng ignored Duobao Tathagata's murderous look.

He just walked slowly into the hall, came in front of Master Xuanzang and his disciple, and gently waved his hand at the golden giant palm that was still floating in the air, unable to move.

call.

The Buddha Kingdom in the palm of his hand, which condensed the life-long cultivation of Duobao Tathagata and was powerful enough to kill a quasi-saint, was silently shattered into pieces and dissipated into nothingness.
