"How do we do it?"
Gongyang Tingbai looked at the young man beside him. During their few encounters in the capital, he had only regarded him as the great poet.
He then demonstrated his formidable abilities in the competition, winning the admiration of countless people.
But the incident had just occurred, and it was impossible to relay the news back to this remote county. Gongyang Tingbai was very curious about how Tang Huan would resolve this issue.
I can't possibly do it myself, can I? That would be too beneath me.
But what could a county magistrate possibly do?
"Simple." Tang Huan chuckled, beckoned to Du Ruhai to come to his side, and then instructed, "You will lead the team for the next operation."
"Me?" Du Ruhai felt a little guilty. He had been entrusted with an important task by his superiors, but he hadn't accomplished anything. He was now somewhat embarrassed.
"You must have been wronged last night, right? Do you want to get revenge?"
Du Ruhai felt a surge of hatred when he thought of Yuan Lang's behavior in front of him last night, but he still held back. "I think it's enough to scare them a little. After all, you're back now, and these people won't dare to be as presumptuous as before."
Tang Huan snorted coldly, "Scare them? We don't do any of that. We'll just take action on our own turf. If anyone doesn't cooperate, we'll just take them down. Anyway, there are plenty of empty seats in the Qihuai County prison. Let them stay there for a few days."
After saying that, Tang Huan gestured and said, "Go find some mercenaries and give each of them ten taels of silver."
"yes!"
Du Ruhai said in a deep voice, looking eager to try.
"Shouldn't we just ask the government officials to do it? Isn't it a bit of an overreaction to hire mercenaries directly?"
Tang Huan replied to Gongyang Tingbai, "Qihuai County doesn't support idlers. There aren't many people in the government office. When needed, they are drawn from the mercenaries, who are more useful than those with official positions."
"I'm actually quite curious about what these mercenaries you're talking about are capable of."
I've only heard of it, but I've never seen it.
All that is known is that Tang Huan encountered a second assassination attempt in the capital, and was directly captured by the mercenaries in his mansion, who had almost no chance to resist.
Tang Huan was not in a hurry. As if taking a leisurely stroll, he led the group toward Zuixianju.
Along the way, he made sure to greet the locals warmly.
At the same time, Du Ruhai also gathered a group of mercenaries and was heading towards Zuixianju.
Meanwhile, Yuan Lang and his companions were unaware of what had happened. They were sitting inside the Drunken Immortal Inn, gesturing and pointing at the staff.
"What are you standing there for? Didn't you hear me tell you to bring over some good wine? Are you all deaf?"
The skinny man shouted loudly.
The waiter was somewhat reluctant, but he eventually brought the wine over anyway.
His emotions were written all over his face, which annoyed the skinny guy, who shoved him hard as the man turned to leave.
The guy fell to the ground, hitting his knee hard, and turned pale with pain.
He turned around and glared fiercely at the skinny man.
"What are you looking at? Look again and I'll gouge your eyes out! You're just a guy, how dare you look at me like that? You're asking for it," the skinny guy cursed.
The short, fat man comforted him, "Forget it, forget it. Why bother arguing with a servant? They're just doing their jobs for money."
Yuan Lang, however, didn't seem to care at all. Instead, he laughed and said, "It's alright. We're going to break ties with Qihuai County anyway, so it's no big deal."
The waiter was filled with anger when he heard everyone saying this.
But he did not have an attack.
Without an adult's order, he would not act rashly, lest he ruin the adult's plans.
But he was genuinely angry. The other party clearly had no intention of talking and was deliberately causing trouble, yet they still had to entertain them.
I felt truly wronged and distressed.
The waiter reluctantly turned to leave, just in time to see Du Ruhai entering through the main gate.
"Brother Du..."
Du Ruhai noticed his waiter's expression and asked suspiciously, "What happened?"
The waiter hesitated before explaining what had just happened, and Du Ruhai's face darkened upon hearing it.
"What, Du Ruhai, want to stand up for this young man?" Yuan Lang asked, holding his wine glass with a rather intriguing expression.
"Who did this?" Du Ruhai's gaze swept over the group of people.
Nobody admits it.
Du Ruhai stepped forward and asked the waiter, "Who did it? Point it out now."
The waiter looked at the crowd, but before he could point it out, the skinny man shouted, "I did it, so what? You want to teach me a lesson? Du Ruhai, don't take yourself too seriously."
Du Ruhai looked at the other person with a gloomy expression and ordered the waiter, "Go over and slap him, then let this matter drop."
"You dare!" The skinny man stood up, his eyes wide.
The waiter hesitated, but Du Ruhai gestured, "This is the master's arrangement, so please do as you please."
Upon hearing this, Yuan Lang laughed and said, "Du Ruhai, I advise you to calm down. Since you've already waited so long, why ruin things because of your emotions?"
To be honest, none of these people believed that Du Ruhai would act recklessly.
Because the attitude shown by Qihuai County in the past few days has been very friendly, even cowardly.
The group swaggered into Zuixianju, and the locals dared not utter a word of objection, even treating them to good food and drink.
This allowed the group to experience excellent service, which made them even more confident.
Now, looking at Du Ruhai talking to his men, he doesn't seem to care at all.
On the other hand, the young waiter, upon learning that an adult had spoken up, immediately stepped forward without hesitation, standing in front of the skinny man and raising his hand.
The skinny man immediately tried to make the first move, but the moment he did, the young waiter opposite him grabbed his wrist tightly, and his struggles were futile.
