A gunshot rang out, followed by a noisy and chaotic commotion.
Most people in the room hid behind the tables and chairs, with many crawling under the tables and some even planning to jump out of the windows.
Looking at Liu Ming again, his legs were weak, but he didn't move; his face had turned ashen.
Even Wan Xin's face was pale and she was unsteady on her feet.
This scene made Tang Huan laugh. He put the gun on the table, walked over to Liu Ming, and patted him heavily on the shoulder.
He then walked to the window and forcefully pulled the person out of the window down, scolding, "This is the third floor, aren't you afraid of breaking your leg if you jump down?"
The man said with a bitter face, "This thing is too powerful. It's better to break my leg than to be beaten to death."
After stumbling to his feet, the man could no longer stand and could only slump in a chair.
"Don't be so scared, there are no bullets in this gun, it's not a threat."
After he finished speaking, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and slowly crawled out from under the table.
Even the seemingly calm Liu Ming slumped into his chair.
Wan Xin, with a hint of embarrassment, put the gun she had just picked up from the table back down.
"What, worried they'll take advantage of the chaos to loot?" Tang Huan sat back down near the door and teased Wan Xin.
Wan Xin nodded, "They're right, this thing is too powerful. If they get their hands on it, you'll be in great danger too."
Tang Huan agreed and looked at the group of people in front of her again.
Liu Ming spent some time calming himself down.
He hadn't expected that so many people would be so frightened by a gun that couldn't hurt anyone for so long.
There were no bullets, which means that Wan Xin posed no threat when she had the gun.
But Liu Ming dared not have any regrets, because there was another Tang Huan on the other side, who was a greater threat than the gun.
For someone who can defeat Gongshan Liqun by force, dealing with them would be easier than dealing with chickens.
"Lord Tang, you have some impressive skills. Although I heard on the day of the competition that your ventriloquism was so realistic that it kept Gongshan Liqun on his toes and forced him to be on guard, I am still very impressed after seeing it today."
The gunshot came too suddenly.
Everyone was already on edge and had no time to discern the situation.
"Let's skip the flattery and get down to business."
Liu Ming asked seriously, "How would you like to discuss this?"
“You’re not qualified to discuss this matter. Why don’t you let Liu Xuan handle it?”
After Tang Huan finished speaking, he waved his hand, signaling the others in the room to leave.
These people are just Liu Ming's friends. They may have been involved in what happened before, but they cannot take responsibility.
Liu Ming's face darkened, and he remained silent.
Everyone was already quite frightened, and now that Tang Huan had given his approval, they quickly left the room.
When everyone had left, Tang Huan reminded them, "Remember to have someone inform the Liu family and ask that young master Liu to come over."
The crowd scattered like birds and beasts, disappearing without a trace in the blink of an eye.
Liu Ming gave a troubled smile and began drinking by himself.
As Liu Xuan's favorite, no one understood the character of the third young master of the Liu family better than him.
He usually seems to treat his subordinates very well and doesn't hesitate to spend money on tips.
But when something really happens, he will only push all his subordinates forward, showing absolutely no mercy.
Given the current situation, will Liu Xuan come?
Liu Ming had only one answer: no.
If I come, it means I'll be putting myself in opposition to Tang Huan, and all the pressure and responsibility will fall on her.
But if he doesn't come, all of this can be blamed on him. Even if Tang Huan kills him in a fit of anger today, it doesn't matter. The Liu family can use this as an excuse to take further action.
If it were me, I definitely wouldn't have come.
"You seem somewhat desperate?"
Tang Huan smiled and spoke, which surprised Liu Ming. He asked in return, "You don't seem to know that Liu Xuan won't be coming."
"Really? Isn't your trusted confidant and distant relative enough to make him go to the trouble for you?"
Liu Ming shook his head. "He's supposed to be a confidant, but all these years he's been doing trivial things. The important things he's never actually handed over to me. And that so-called distant relative is a far cry from what I'm used to. He's not the kind of person who cares about old relationships."
"So, he's quite a shrewd businessman?" Tang Huan was still smiling.
"Yes, he's even more cold-blooded than his father."
Tang Huan nodded and said, "This means he will go far on the path of a businessman, and at least he will do better than most people. Wan Xin, you should learn from him."
A businessman's cold-blooded pursuit of profit is not a flaw; the real flaw is not being able to make money.
It was late at night.
Several panicked figures ran through the streets, hurrying to the gate of the Liu residence.
After reporting Liu Ming's troubles to the servants of the Liu family, they left in a hurry, unwilling to get involved any further.
Soon, the news reached Liu Xuan.
Soon, a mature middle-aged man came over unhurriedly.
"Uncle Bai, you've arrived."
Liu Xuan respectfully pulled out a chair for the other person and invited them to sit down.
Uncle Bai looked at the young man in his early twenties opposite him. As the youngest child in the Liu family, his potential had satisfied many people, even surpassing that of his two older brothers.
"I've heard about what happened. What are your thoughts?"
Liu Xuan's face darkened. "I don't know why Tang Huan suddenly came back, and I never expected him to stand up for Wan Xin. To be honest, this is a bit beyond my expectations."
Uncle Bai nodded slightly and asked earnestly, "Then do you want to go and see this great poet?"
"No," Liu Xuan said grimly, "Even if I were to go see him, it wouldn't be today."
The incident happened suddenly, and Liu Xuan was not prepared at all. He would not go there rashly.
"He's just Liu Ming. At worst, we can just throw him away. It won't take much effort for the Liu family to raise someone like him."
Uncle Bai had a different opinion when faced with Liu Xuan's statement.
Seeing this, Liu Xuan asked, "Uncle Bai, do you disagree?"
Uncle Bai said seriously, "Now that your father and two brothers have gone to the Northern Region to investigate the situation, they have left the affairs in the capital to me. I need to make sure there are no problems so that they can't explain themselves when they return."
"It's a small matter, nothing will go wrong. It's just a little grudge with the Wan family." Liu Xuan said dismissively.
Uncle Bai asked solemnly, "Why do you think Tang Huan specifically sent someone to deliver this message?"
"Isn't this just to give us a warning?"
“I think it’s more than that. He could have caught us completely off guard, but he specially sent someone to inform us. I think it’s more like he’s giving us a way out.”
What do you mean?
Uncle Bai said definitively, "You must go, and it's for your own sake. I suspect that if you do nothing today, the Liu family will have even more trouble."
Is Tang Huan really that troublesome?
Liu Xuan dared not ignore it and finally agreed.
