The two men cleaned up the house inside and out in the afternoon, cleared the weeds in the yard, and cut down all the shrubs.
Wu Daosheng found some tree trunks and chopped them into wood to repair the broken beams.
After working for a long time, both of them were sweating. The little girl took a bath on her new skirts. Wu Daosheng rearranged the house and hung a portrait of the Taoist master in the main hall.
This portrait was left by his master, who asked him to do his homework in front of the portrait of Daozu after bathing and burning incense every day.
His daily homework is to recite Taoist scriptures and comprehend the world.
It's been a while since I came to this other world, and I haven't done my homework for several days.
Wu Daosheng took out the incense burner, the merit tablet, the Taoist seal, and a Taoist scripture and placed them on the square table.
Then he lit three incense sticks and placed them in the incense burner, and knelt down to pay homage to the portrait of the Taoist ancestor, kneeling three times and kowtow nine times.
After the ceremony, stand up
Wu Daosheng looked around, brought a small table from the corner, laid it flat, and covered it with a piece of red paper.
This red paper is like silk, impervious to water and fire, and does not melt when it comes into contact with water.
Wu Daosheng wrote a letter of apprenticeship on a piece of paper, which he prepared for Li Xuefei.
The font is neat and without tilt, just like the justice of the law
Wu Daosheng wrote it very seriously
After writing, he blew on the ink and placed it in front of the portrait of Daozu.
Then he touched the Qiankun Ring and took out a blank jade pendant, flawless white jade!
Wu Daosheng took out the carving knife and wanted to carve the words "Shendao Temple" on the front of the jade pendant and "Li Xuefei" on the back.
His expression was extremely solemn. This was a Taoist identity card, and it could not tolerate any flaws.
After doing all this, he placed the jade pendant in front of the incense burner and then bowed to the portrait.
Seeing that Li Xuefei hadn't finished her bath for a while, Wu Daosheng picked up the repaired Taoist robe and went to the river to wash her body.
Looking at the tattered robe in his hand, Wu Daosheng felt helpless and thought to himself: I have to find some time to find some cloth to make a few sets of robes! I should also make a few sets for my junior sister.
Soon Wu Daosheng came back from cleaning. The little girl was drying her hair at the door. She had also changed into the blue skirt that Uncle Li had just bought.
"Li Xuefei, come in and kowtow to the Taoist Master!"
Li Xuefei paused and looked at him in confusion.
“Here I come!”
When she walked into the room, she looked at Wu Daosheng with a serious face, feeling a little overwhelmed and her expression became nervous.
Wu Daosheng spoke at the right time
"Don't be nervous! I'll teach you how to do it later! Do you know how to write a title?"
Li Xuefei pinched her fingers and nodded
"Dad taught me to write a lot of characters! I can write my name now."
Wu Daosheng nodded gently
He took out three incense sticks, lit them with a pinch of his fingers, stood in front of the portrait of the Taoist ancestor and spoke aloud.
"Daozu, today my disciple Wu Daosheng has found a good disciple and would like to accept him as a disciple on my behalf. I hope Daozu will protect me!"
Wu Daosheng bowed deeply to the portrait of Daozu, then turned to Li Xuefei and said
"Kneel down and kowtow"
Li Xuefei knelt in front of the portrait of Daozu and kowtowed deeply
Wu Daosheng asked seriously
"Li Xuefei, are you resolute in your pursuit of the Dao? You must know that the path of cultivation is arduous and simple, requiring patience, perseverance, and persistence. Can you do it?"
Li Xuefei knelt on the ground with a determined look
"I can!"
Wu Daosheng looked pleased and nodded.
"Taoism emphasizes governing by inaction and letting nature take its course. This means that everything should be left to its own devices, without forcing or interfering. Can you do that?"
Li Xuefei thought for a moment and nodded heavily.
"I can!"
Wu Daosheng continued
"We have five precepts at Shinto temples: no killing, no stealing, no sexual misconduct, no lying, and no meat or fish. Can you follow these precepts?"
Li Xuefei nodded without thinking.
"I can!"
Wu Daosheng felt relieved, fearing that the little girl would suddenly regret it! That would be a pity.
"Since you have decided to join the Taoist sect, then read the letter of apprenticeship to me!"
"I, the disciple, declare to the Daoist Ancestor, that I wish to enter the Daoist sect, observe the precepts, learn the true teachings, refrain from murderous intent, and avoid worldly desires. I will follow the Way of Heaven, uphold my original aspirations, slay demons and monsters, and uphold justice. If I disobey, I will be punished by Heaven and Earth."
Li Xuefei recited the oaths one by one
Finally, the ceremony of three kneelings and nine kowtows was performed.
Suddenly, the Daozu portrait shone with golden light, and a golden light penetrated into Li Xuefei's body, illuminating her whole body.
The little girl was extremely surprised and felt her body warm and comfortable!
Wu Daosheng's eyes twitched, and he was shocked.
The Taoist Ancestor appeared and blessed with golden light
He has never been treated this way! The Taoist Master is partial.
Wu Daosheng walked over and helped Li Xuefei, who was still savoring the feeling, up.
"Go sign and stamp your handprints! From now on, we will be fellow disciples."
Li Xuefei was a little excited and picked up the brush to write her name
Wu Daosheng looked forward and shook his head
Chicken claw dog paddle!
He picked up the Taoist seal and stamped it on the paper. Suddenly, the paper glowed with golden light!
Reaching the heavens, heaven and earth bear witness
Wu Daosheng put the paper away, turned around and said to Li Xuefei
"From now on, you will be a member of the Taoist sect. You must not interfere in anything! Unless you are destined to do so. I will teach you the Taoist skills: breathing techniques, Taoist scriptures, Taoist magic, Taoist swordsmanship, and Taoist body movements!"
"Life will be a little hard, but it will be extremely fulfilling!"
Li Xuefei was secretly shocked. I just want to learn to fly. It feels so hard in the future. Is it too late to go back now?
The answer is no!
"I know, big brother!"
Wu Daosheng corrected her address
"From now on, you can only call me Senior Brother! I will call you Junior Sister! Don't call me anything else, understand!"
Li Xuefei nodded in understanding
"Yes, Brother!"
