Seeing that Qin Feng was about to leave, Ling Yuwei, thinking of the importance of the Ling family's internal competition, still managed to speak with difficulty.
"Qin Feng, wait a minute."
Qin Feng and Ling Hao both stared at her in surprise.
"Sister, is there something you need from Brother Feng?"
"Miss Ling, what brings you here?"
Ling Yuwei blushed slightly, making her look even more pretty and charming. She stammered a little as she spoke:
"Um, Qin Feng, could you teach me swordsmanship?"
After she finished speaking, her face turned even redder, and she looked at Qin Feng with some anticipation.
Ling Hao understood what his sister was up to and tried to persuade Qin Feng, "Brother Feng, please teach my sister."
Qin Feng glanced at Ling Yuwei and said in a strange tone, "Miss Ling, didn't I promise to give you some pointers? Why are you asking again?"
Ling Yuwei was stunned upon hearing this, and felt even more embarrassed. She had indeed said these words before, but the meaning behind them was not what she meant now. She believed that Qin Feng would understand.
At the time, she wanted to teach Qin Feng a lesson, and her advice was just a joke. Now, she is genuinely seeking his guidance.
The words are the same, but the meaning they imply is different.
Seeing Qin Feng say this, Ling Yuwei didn't want to expose her own shortcomings, so she went along with it.
"Oh, I forgot for a moment. So what should I do next?"
Qin Feng thought for a moment, "Your foundation is very good, but you're missing one thing, and that's a goal."
Ling Yuwei frowned. "I have a goal. Becoming stronger is my goal."
Qin Feng shook his head. "That's too broad, or rather, not strong enough, not profound enough. Everyone embarks on the path of cultivation for their own reasons; this is their original intention, also known as their Dao heart."
You must be wondering why, even though you've achieved perfect harmony between man and sword, you haven't yet grasped the essence of swordsmanship.
Ling Yuwei's eyes lit up as she looked at Qin Feng expectantly, "That's right, why is that?"
Qin Feng smiled and said, "Didn't you ask your elders at home?"
Ling Yuwei sighed and said helplessly:
"They say that sword intent is a mysterious and difficult thing to explain."
Some people grasp it without even realizing it, while others are close to achieving enlightenment but still haven't. They can't explain why.
It can only be understood intuitively, not explained in words; it relies entirely on one's own perception. However, through actual combat, even under the pressure of life and death, one can accelerate the comprehension of sword intent.
Qin Feng nodded and explained:
"Actually, what they said is true. Everyone's experience is different, and their methods of understanding are different. But it's not as mysterious as it seems."
What is sword intent? Simply put, it is imbuing the sword with your will and expressing your will through the sword. That is sword intent.
But if you don't even have a clear will of your own, how can you make the sword resonate with you? Naturally, you won't generate sword intent.
Qin Feng's words were like a revelation to Ling Yuwei, and she seemed mesmerized as she kept repeating them.
"Sword intent is expressing one's will through the sword; sword intent is..."
Following Qin Feng's instructions, she began to recall her past experiences, including the aspirations she had when she first started cultivating.
Slowly, Ling Yuwei closed her eyes and stood quietly, motionless.
Ling Hao also looked thoughtful, clearly having benefited greatly from the experience.
Qin Feng glanced at the two Ling siblings, then quietly left without disturbing them.
If they manage to gain something, it would be a way of repaying the kindness they received back then.
Ling Hao snapped out of his reverie, looked around, and realized that Qin Feng was gone, while his sister was still deep in thought with her eyes closed.
While protecting Ling Yuwei, he took out his spirit sword and began to try it out.
He understood Qin Feng's words and comprehended the explanation of sword intent, but he just couldn't do it; it was as if a barrier was preventing him from doing so.
Ling Hao sighed, clutching his sword.
At this moment, he noticed that the spirit sword in his hand trembled, as if it had been awakened by something and gained sentience, and it tried to slip out of his hand.
Ling Hao was quite surprised and looked in the direction where the spirit sword was struggling.
Ling Yuwei opened her eyes, a sharp glint in them, and a powerful aura surrounded her, enveloped in sharp sword energy.
Ling Hao was greatly surprised to see Ling Yuwei as a completely different person. She was no longer his gentle and elegant older sister, but a sharp swordswoman.
Ling Yuwei felt the changes within herself and became very happy. She glanced at Ling Hao and made a move towards the spirit sword in his hand.
The spirit sword broke free from Ling Hao and headed straight for Ling Yuwei.
Ling Hao exclaimed in surprise, "Sister, what's going on? Could it be that you've comprehended sword intent?"
Ling Yuwei withdrew her imposing aura, smiled broadly, and nodded affirmatively, "That's right, I have now grasped the essence of swordsmanship."
Seeing that Ling Yuwei had returned to her previous appearance, Ling Hao clicked his tongue in amazement, "Congratulations, sister, your cultivation has advanced another step."
Ling Yuwei shook her head and sighed:
"I used to doubt Qin Feng's abilities, but it turns out he's really that good."
He succinctly revealed the essence of the matter in just a few words, dispelling the fog to reveal the moon's brilliance; he was a remarkable figure.
No wonder you admire and are so infatuated with him; I was blind to his talent and misjudged him.
Ling Hao agreed wholeheartedly, "Yes, I didn't know that either until I fought him and realized how powerful he was."
Ling Yuwei said seriously, "I really have to thank him for enabling me to comprehend sword intent this time."
Ling Hao nodded. "Shall we go find him now?"
Ling Yuwei shook her head, "We've already been a bit offensive, so let's not bother him any further. Let's just wait for him here. By the way, what time does he usually come out?"
Ling Hao said somewhat uncertainly:
"It's hard to say. Sometimes it's morning, sometimes it's evening, and sometimes he doesn't come out at all. I feel like he only comes out for some fresh air when he gets bored with his cultivation."
