Watching Li Yuanfang leave, Qin Feng's mind raced, and he asked Leng Yuexi, who was standing beside him:
"Xiaoxi, what do you think?"
Without even thinking, Leng Yuexi said directly:
"Li Yuanfang and the Third Prince he mentioned are both up to no good and just want to take advantage of Brother Feng."
"And then there's the Crown Prince. According to Li Yuanfang, he should send someone to find you soon. But whether he's coming to win you over or to make you his enemy is still uncertain."
Qin Feng, intrigued, countered with a question:
"Oh, putting aside the Third Prince, the Crown Prince tried to win me over, but I killed one of his men. Although he holds a high position and treats human life like dirt, I still slapped him in the face."
Leng Yuexi didn't take it to heart, instead rolling her eyes at him and saying coquettishly:
"Brother Feng, are you testing me? I don't believe you can't guess this. How could someone like the Crown Prince care about just two subordinate families? Since you were able to destroy them, it proves that you are more useful than them."
If you can be used by him, everything else is trivial. However, he'll probably be disappointed; you're not the kind of person who can be controlled or work for someone else. In the end, you'll still have to fight.
Qin Feng took her small hand, tucked her stray strands of hair behind her ear, and burst into laughter.
“That’s right, Yuexi understands me best. You’re right. If I’m willing to risk my life for him, His Highness the Crown Prince will naturally forgive me. But if I don’t agree, he won’t be so easy to talk to.”
Seeing Qin Feng's intimate actions, Leng Yue blushed, feeling happy but also somewhat worried.
“The Crown Prince now wields immense power in Ning Kingdom. If he comes with ill intentions, can you really handle him? This is practically the entire nation’s strength.”
Qin Feng said confidently, "If he doesn't come looking for trouble, fine. But if he really dares to cause trouble, I don't mind helping the Third Prince out. After all, he's very polite and courteous, and he even calls me Young Master Qin."
Leng Yuexi looked at him with a strange expression.
"You really like this nickname?"
"That's not entirely true. However, compared to some people who treat me like an ant, like a soft persimmon that can be easily manipulated, the title 'Young Master Qin' is quite good."
Leng Yuexi nodded.
At this moment, a servant came to report.
"Young Master, Young Madam, a man named Gao Sixi has brought a large group of people and says he wants to see you."
"Oh, did they say who it was?"
"He said he came on the orders of the Crown Prince and had something to ask the young master."
Qin Feng and Leng Yuexi exchanged a glance.
Knowing the problem was brewing, and bringing men along, that's getting interesting.
"Let the leader in; the rest of you wait outside."
"yes."
The servant then left.
Qin Feng and Leng Yuexi simply waited in the main hall.
...
Outside the Qin Mansion.
"My lord, my young master instructed that only the leader be allowed to enter, while the others wait outside the mansion."
Upon hearing this, the others were displeased. They were not just any Tom, Dick, or Harry; they were the Crown Prince's trusted subordinates, and were treated with utmost respect wherever they went. Yet the Qin family had made them wait outside.
"Hmph, Qin Feng really said that? Didn't you tell him we're His Highness the Crown Prince's people?"
"I have already informed the young master," the servant said, neither servile nor arrogant.
"Oh, Qin Feng is so ungrateful. Lord Gao, I think we are better."
He then made a throat-slitting gesture as he spoke.
The servant was immediately alarmed; this was clearly a hostile visitor.
Gao Sixi felt somewhat helpless seeing how impatient these people were.
This is understandable; they are used to being arrogant and domineering, and now that Qin Feng is disrespecting them, their tempers flare up immediately.
However, Gao Sixi came with a mission from the Crown Prince, so he couldn't let them ruin things before they were even done.
"Please calm down. We are here on the Crown Prince's orders. If we mess this up, you will not be able to bear the responsibility."
After he said that, those people immediately became obedient.
Gao Sixi was obsequious to the Crown Prince, but in front of others he was a high-ranking and powerful figure, the Crown Prince's representative. His words were the Crown Prince's will, and no one dared to contradict him.
He said politely to the servant, "Please trouble you to lead me inside, young friend."
"No, please come with me. The young master is already waiting."
Gao Sixi followed him inside.
Those who remained were somewhat resentful.
"Why did Your Highness pull this stunt? Wouldn't it have been simpler to just kill Qin Feng?"
"They're so arrogant, they won't even let us in the door."
"Hush, do you want to die? How dare you talk about His Highness the Crown Prince?"
"That's right. His Highness is unfathomable. His thoughts are beyond the comprehension of people like us. It's good that we don't understand him."
...
Gao Sixi entered the main hall and saw Qin Feng sitting at the head of the table and Leng Yuexi next to him.
"My name is Gao Sixi. I greet Young Master Qin and Madam Qin."
When Qin Feng and Leng Yuexi saw the visitors, they stood up to return the greeting, maintaining their composure before things escalated.
"Mr. Gao, you are too kind. Please have a seat and serve tea."
After Gao Sixi took his seat, Qin Feng didn't waste any words and went straight to the point:
"I heard that Mr. Gao is one of His Highness the Crown Prince's men?"
Upon hearing this, Gao Sixi looked somewhat smug, as he was very proud that he was one of the Crown Prince's men.
Qin Feng could tell that although this person was very proper in terms of manners, his every move revealed arrogance, and his gaze was condescending, which made Qin Feng very unhappy.
