Chapter 64 The Sect Master's Meaning

Sect Master Gao Qijun remained calm and watched, seemingly no longer in a hurry.

Elder Dao Yufei grew impatient as he watched the crowd arguing incessantly.

He said loudly, "I don't think there's anything to discuss about this. No matter what Qin Feng's identity is, he dared to kill someone from my Overlord Sect, so he can't be let off the hook."

Dao Yufei's words carry considerable weight within the Overlord Blade Sect. Regardless of his cultivation level, his status as the Grand Elder alone grants him significant power.

With so many years of intentional or unintentional efforts, they have developed their own faction.

For powerful groups, forming cliques and factions is perfectly normal.

As expected, his words were echoed by many people.

"That's right, I think we should just go for it, who cares who he is."

"Exactly, does he think he can be an enemy of our entire Overlord Blade Sect? Then he can't be some nobody."

Xu Xianbo, the sect's second elder, glanced at Gao Qijun, who was sitting silently, and then said:

"The Grand Elder has a point, but I suggest we clarify the whole situation first, if it is as the Grand Elder said before."

Qin Feng has no conflict with our Overlord Blade Sect, he only has a grudge against the Wang family, it's not worth our entire sect going to war.

As soon as he said this, those who supported the Grand Elder became restless.

Dao Yufei glared at him angrily.

"Elder Xu, you're wrong. Our sect is one. How can you say such a thing?"

"That's right. Qin Feng has killed our sect's disciples and elders, and we're still doing nothing? Aren't we just making ourselves a laughingstock?"

The Second Elder, Xu Xianbo, also has his own faction.

"It's true that Qin Feng killed our people, but you went to cause trouble for them, and you don't allow them to fight back? Our Tyrant Blade Sect isn't that domineering."

"That's right. These two have caused trouble for our sect for no reason. We should just let them go without punishing them, why should we help them seek justice?"

Sect Master Gao Qijun watched and listened quietly.

He knew what these people were thinking.

The Overlord Blade Sect has a long history and has developed into various factions over the years. The First Elder is one faction, and the Second Elder is another.

These two elders simply wanted to take this opportunity to weaken Dao Yufei's influence.

Dao Yufei and Peng Kun have a very good relationship, and Peng Kun always sides with Dao Yufei.

Putting aside Peng Kun's cultivation level, his identity as an alchemist alone could help Dao Yufei attract a lot of people.

In his early years, Dao Yufei focused on the way of the sword, even changing his surname, and made many mistakes.

Now that he has achieved some success, he wants something to compensate for it; power and resources are things he cares about.

Over the years, he has been incredibly influential in the Overlord Blade Sect, and his prestige has even surpassed that of the sect leader.

Second Elder Xu Xianbo also knew that the sect leader was displeased, and took this opportunity to suppress him.

Dao Yufei understood that Xu Xianbo had no good intentions, but he was furious that Xu would tamper with things in relation to foreign enemies.

In his mind, no matter how much internal strife there was, when there was an external enemy, they should always be outwards. I never expected this person to have such a narrow vision.

And this sect leader too, he sat there for ages without saying anything.

Dao Yufei directly asked Sect Master Gao Qijun, "Sect Master, there are many conflicting opinions. You should make a decision."

Gao Qijun understood that this meant he needed to make a statement.

He glanced at everyone in the room and said loudly:

“I have heard everyone’s opinions. It is true that our Tyrant Blade Sect cannot be humiliated. However, I suggest that we investigate and understand the matter before making a decision. We can send someone to meet with Qin Feng first.”

The Second Elder was delighted to hear this. This decision was biased towards them. It seemed his guess was correct; the Sect Master had a lot of opinions about the First Elder.

Dao Yufei frowned upon hearing this and retorted:

"Sect Master, wouldn't this make people look down on our Tyrant Blade Sect?"

"Our Overlord Blade Sect has stood tall in Qingzhou for so long, not because of our arrogance. There are many forces in Qingzhou that can rival us. If we were to attack every time, what would be the difference between us and a brute? If we were to incur the wrath of the masses, how would I explain this to the ancestors of the Overlord Blade Sect?"

Dao Yufei gave Gao Qijun a deep look. What he said seemed reasonable, but he didn't believe that it wasn't mixed with his own agenda.

He hadn't expected that even the sect leader would be like this.

The Second Elder immediately said, "Why don't I go and meet this Qin Feng?"

Gao Qijun glanced at him and said, "Oh, then I'll have to trouble the Second Elder."

That's how it was settled.

Dao Yufei frowned, suppressing his resentment for the time being.

He had already decided that if they intended to attack, he would let it go; but if they wanted to make peace, he wouldn't be blamed. He, Dao Yufei, was determined to avenge this grudge.

...

The Fan family.

In the study of Fan Wentao, the head of the Fan family.

Fan Leng and Fan Hongzheng, who had just returned from Xilan City, reported to him on the operation.

"Father, it's almost certain that Qin Feng is the murderer who killed my two brothers. This man is incredibly capable; he even killed Elder Fan Jizhong, and..."

Fan Leng recounted what had happened.

Fan Wentao frowned deeply and his expression changed constantly.

“We received a message from Qingxuan saying that the disciple we sent to investigate the matter had also died. I knew something unexpected had happened as soon as Elder Fan’s soul tablet shattered.”

Then he asked, somewhat puzzled:

"But if Qin Feng has such abilities, why was he expelled from the sect? Was he deliberately hiding his talents, or did he have another purpose?"

"Could it be to kill my two older brothers?"

"If he had this ability earlier, he wouldn't have taken them seriously, and this whole thing wouldn't have happened."
