Childish provocation

Childish provocation

Fang Huai's words were like a heavy hammer, hitting Li Xuan's heart.

Li Xuan didn't understand Fang Huai's overly stubborn persistence. Seeing the tears in Fang Huai's eyes, he couldn't help but soften his heart, but he still retorted: "Fang Huai, you can rely on me."

"You can always rely on me, why change?"

Li Xuan held up Fang Huai's face, curled his fingers to catch the tears hanging on his eyelashes, and whispered, "Wouldn't it be better to just be like before?"

Their foreheads touched. Fang Huai looked at Li Xuan intently, his eyes changing from hesitation to determination. He shook his head slightly, "No, Li Xuan, that's not good at all."

Li Xuan put some distance between them, sat in the driver's seat and looked ahead, his peripheral vision always falling on Fang Huai beside him.

Fang Huai lowered his head, his fingertips unconsciously rubbing the edge of the seat belt. Noticing Li Xuan's gaze, he did not give in and turned his head towards the window.

His long, slender neck tilted sideways, delicate and fragile. Fang Huai was non-aggressive, yet stubborn. He refused to yield, refused to back down.

The two were only an arm's length apart, but Fang Huai felt as if there was a river between him and Li Xuan, with a shaky wooden bridge in the middle. He couldn't walk across, and Li Xuan couldn't come over.

There was dead silence in the car.

After a long time, groups of pedestrians passed by outside the car, and the roar of the car broke the silence.

Fang Huai turned his head and saw Li Xuan's tense and hard jaw. He opened his mouth and finally leaned back in his chair in frustration.

Go to Fang Huai's house.

Li Xuan didn't get out of the car, the upper half of his face was hidden in the darkness. He took out a cigarette in front of Li Xuan for the first time, and the smoke slowly rose into the air.

Fang Huai gave Li Xuan a deep look, opened the door and got out of the car, saying, "Goodbye."

He didn't wait for Li Xuan to speak, the only answer he got was the roar of the car.

Fang Huai opened the door tiredly. The small sweeping robot was trapped in the entrance hall, constantly hitting the shoe cabinet. The deserted living room became more lively because of it.

He squatted down and looked at the robot for a while, then moved the robot away with his hand. Just as he was about to stand up, the robot hit his ankle again.

Fang Huai was at a loss for words. He gently moved the robot away with his foot. The robot turned in another direction, and the slight buzzing sound made him feel at ease.

When he came out of the shower, the robot stopped in the middle of the living room and didn't move.

Fang Huai didn't bother to dry his hair. "Is the battery out?"

I picked up the robot and examined it carefully. It had enough power, but it wouldn't move. "It's broken."

Fang Huai turned off the switch, took out the instruction manual and studied it carefully, but he couldn't find any results.

In the end, I had no choice but to clean the robot and put it on the cabinet at the entrance.

This robot was purchased by Fang Huai and Li Xuan a few years ago when they first moved here. I don't usually use it, but today I took out the dusty robot on a whim.

Old things really break down if they are not used often.

Fang Huai sat in the living room which had returned to silence again, quietly watching the sweeping robot at the entrance, the pillow in his arms unconsciously crumpled into a ball.

His hastily dried hair covered his smooth forehead. He was wearing warm-colored home clothes, and the cool light shining on his body made him look cold and lonely.

Fang Huai hugged the pillow tightly, leaning on the edge of the sofa in a daze, his fair face pressed against the pillow, confused and stubborn.

The screen of the mobile phone placed casually on the sofa flickered, and messages popped up one after another.

Fang Henian took out his phone and sent messages one by one, [Brother, are you free recently? ]

[Our company will be sending me to study abroad soon, and I'd like to have dinner with you.]

【elder brother? 】

Fang Henian sent several messages but received no response. The low pressure behind him made his scalp tighten.

He closed his eyes and turned around, looking ready to die. "Boss, what's wrong with you?"

Kong Lingyu folded his hands and calmly looked at the interface that had not yet been exited. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "Are you busy?"

"No, I'm just..." Fang Henian hid his phone behind his back and said flatteringly, "Boss, do you have something to talk to me about?"

Now he called Kong Lingyu "boss" again and no longer called him "senior". The intention of distancing himself from him was obvious, but Kong Lingyu didn't care.

He stared at Fang Henian's flattering yet wary smile and said, "Senior needs your help."

"Boss, you're joking. I'm just a small employee in the company. How can I help you?" Fang Henan refused repeatedly. He didn't know what Kong Lingyu was up to, and he didn't dare to disobey his boss blatantly, so he had to pretend to be confused.

But this trick of his only works on people who care about face. Kong Lingyu didn't care at all. He walked inconspicuously behind Fang Henian's office chair, and when Fang Henian was about to stand up, he pressed him down on the chair with a smile.

Although he was smiling, his words contained a threat: "Junior brother will definitely be able to help you."

"Oh, oh, oh, I can help. I can definitely do it."

Kong Lingyu was so excited that he stood up and said loudly, ignoring the strange looks from his colleagues: "Boss, you are right!"

Kong Lingyu glanced at the office area. Those employees who were absent from work lowered their heads again. He patted Fang Henan's shoulder with satisfaction and said, "Well, work hard."

Fang Huai replied to Fang Henian. It was already early morning. He had fallen asleep in the living room and was woken up by the cold. He sat up in a daze, picked up the pillow that had rolled to the ground, turned up the air conditioner temperature, and returned to the bedroom in his slippers.

She yawned despite feeling sleepy, and the tears that flowed out wet the corners of her eyes. She quickly replied to Fang Henian's message, and saw Li Xuan's updated circle of friends. She tapped the screen with her fingertips to enlarge the lively picture.

A group of people were in a private room, with all kinds of fine wine on the table. Some unfamiliar and familiar faces were facing the camera. Li Xuan was sitting in the middle with a helpless smile in his eyes. The text title was: Party.

Fang Huai clicked the like button and exited the Moments. The message popped up the next second:

It was a video, still in the bustling box. Li Ze held a mobile phone and pointed the camera at his face. Behind him was Li Xuan who was playing Truth or Dare. The man in the front of the camera raised his eyebrows arrogantly at the camera.

He was Li Xuan's cousin, and he looked three points like Li Xuan. Both of them were standard mixed-race, with deep eyebrows and distinct eye sockets. His eyes, the same color as Li Xuan's, were full of playfulness and the casualness of playing with the world.

After watching the video, Fang Huai slowly uttered a word: "Childish."

Another voice message came from the other end, its tone strange and full of provocation: "Doctor Fang, who saves lives and heals the wounded, isn't working overtime. Why aren't you sleeping in the middle of the night? Are you feeling sad because you were left hiding under the covers?"

Fang Huai did not reply and completely ignored the man's message.

A naive child was not worth his time, especially since the child had a grudge against him from the beginning.

Regardless of what Li Xuan's friends thought of him privately, they were all polite and courteous on the surface. But this guy, Fang Huai, always spoke with sarcastic veneer whenever he saw him. At one party, when things were going well, he suddenly started imitating the fire-breathing techniques on TV.

He admitted himself to the hospital and stayed in bed for half a month. It happened that Fang Huai was the attending physician. After being discharged from the hospital, this guy's temper became less aggressive and his way of speaking changed, becoming sarcastic.

Li Ze continued to provoke Fang Huai, but Fang Huai set himself to do not disturb and continued to sleep. How could he waste his rare weekend time on unimportant people?

Li Ze guessed that he was blocked, so he drank the drink beside him and said unwillingly, "Well done, Fang Huai, Doctor Fang."
