The apartment was smashed
Fang Huai stood on the paint-covered floor, carefully looking for his next place to stay. It was hard to imagine that this was Kong Lingyu's home.
The coffee table and TV were smashed, the walls and floor were covered in splattered paint, and the only thing that survived was probably the wooden sofa.
Kong Lingyu looked at the unrepentant culprit with an unhappy expression.
There was no trace of guilt on the strange man's face, only dissatisfaction. While Kong Lingyu was on the phone, he was in the mood to whistle frivolously at Fang Huai.
Like a street thug teasing a good student, Fang Huai felt a chill in his heart and turned his head away to avoid looking at the man.
Fang Henian sat next to Fang Huai, looking at the decoration and sighing: "How much money must this cost?"
"This floor, this coffee table, and that picture are going to cost a lot of money."
After a while, a man with a serious face came and took the person away. Before leaving, he smiled at Fang Huai in the house. Although Fang Huai felt confused, he still politely smiled back.
"I'm sorry to scare you. He's my partner's younger brother, and he's a bit rebellious." Kong Lingyu looked at the mess in the house, holding his forehead and pretending to have a headache, saying, "It's really difficult to deal with. The house is still in a mess during the New Year."
Fang Huai was sitting on the sofa. Upon hearing this, he looked up at Kong Lingyu and felt suspicious. If Kong Lingyu hadn't lowered his head and couldn't see his expression clearly, he would have almost thought that this guy was laughing.
"Senior, all the hotels nearby are fully booked, and I don't think anyone would be willing to do a house cleaning during Chinese New Year. Why don't you stay at our house for a few days?" The carefree Fang Henian suggested, "My parents would welcome you too."
Kong Lingyu raised his head, his eyes fell on Fang Huai, and asked with a half-smile, "What about my brother? Does my brother welcome me?"
His dark eyes stared straight at Fang Huai, determined to get an answer before he would give up. Fang Huai had no objection, he nodded and said: "Welcome."
As soon as he finished speaking, Fang's mother called and warmly invited Kong Lingyu to her home to celebrate the New Year. Fang's father also joined in. Kong Lingyu declined at first, but finally couldn't refuse the invitation and agreed.
He said in a cheerful tone: "That really troubles uncle and aunt."
"Good boy, there's no such thing as trouble or no trouble. It's settled."
"He Nian, Fang Huai." He Lijun called out on the other end of the phone, "Help Xiao Kong clean up the house and come back together after you've fixed the phone."
"Okay, got it." The two brothers agreed in unison.
While helping to clean up the house, Fang Huai also felt that everything that happened after Kong Lingyu appeared was quite dramatic. He "made a fool of himself" in the Fang family, and when he finally returned home, his house was smashed beyond recognition.
He shook his head helplessly and carefully cleaned up the broken porcelain pieces at the entrance. A gentle voice came from behind him: "Maimai."
Fang Huai dumped the debris into the trash can and said "hmm", but Kong Lingyu still followed him relentlessly, shouting: "Maimaimaimaimaimaimaima..."
Fang Huai laughed angrily. He put the broom back in its place and looked back at Kong Lingyu, "What are you doing?"
The light shone on Fang Huai's fair and handsome face. His long eyelashes cast a faint shadow under his eyes, and his clear eyes showed calmness.
Kong Lingyu was stunned for a few seconds, leaning against the door with his arms folded, looking away, and said in a long tone: "Brother——"
Fang Huai lowered his head under Kong Lingyu's teasing gaze, his handsome brows slightly furrowed, and his originally calm eyes began to waver. He shrugged his nose and raised his head to look the man in the eye, "Didn't you bring it up yourself?"
"Hmm." Kong Lingyu turned his head and saw Fang Huai's red earlobe. He suddenly leaned close to Fang Huai and whispered in his ear, "Maimai, aren't you very happy to hear this?"
"Maimai is still pretending not to know me well. Is he trying to distance himself from me or—" Kong Lingyu paused for a few seconds, his eyes darkened, narrowed dangerously, and his voice was low and light.
"Or—have you forgotten me long ago?"
The hot breath hit Fang Huai's sensitive ear. He couldn't help but shrink his neck, took a few steps back, opened his mouth, and guiltily answered only the last question: "I haven't forgotten."
Kong Lingyu raised his eyebrows, "Okay."
Fang Huai secretly breathed a sigh of relief, not realizing that the phone in his pocket was missing.
It was not until he saw the cell phone in Kong Lingyu's hand that he slowly touched his pocket. It was empty!
He reached out to take the phone, but Kong Lingyu raised his hand and shook it proudly. Fang Huai disliked Kong Lingyu's childishness in his heart, but he did not forget to snatch the phone away and put it back in his pocket.
Kong Lingyu's expression changed immediately, his eyes filled with resentment, "Brother, are you angry?"
"Even the best relationships will fade with time. When we were little, you'd give me your toy paws to touch, but now... you can't even look at your phone."
Even Fang Henian, who was sweeping the stairs, could smell Kong Lingyu's strong green tea scent. Fang Henian flicked the rag with a curious look on his face, "Are you guys talking about Dream of the Red Chamber?"
Fang Huai couldn't help laughing out loud, and the smile on Kong Lingyu's face completely froze. He slowly turned his head and glanced at Fang Henian with an unfriendly look. Fang Henian tactfully disappeared.
"Kong Lingyu, you haven't changed." Fang Huai smiled and sighed, "That's great."
Seeing Fang Huai smiling, Kong Lingyu no longer cared about his previous displeasure. He looked at Fang Huai tenderly and said in a voice that only the two of them could hear, "I will never change."
It was that look again... Fang Huai raised his eyes and tried to find other emotions in Kong Lingyu's eyes, emotions that were not so ambiguous.
Perhaps it was because Fang Huai's eyes were too clear and pure, Kong Lingyu looked timid when he met his gaze.
His Adam's apple rolled slightly up and down. Kong Lingyu raised his hand to cover Fang Huai's eyes and turned his face away. "Don't look at me like that, I'll think..." Fang Huai's long eyelashes brushed against his palm, causing an unbearable itch. The second half of the sentence remained on the tip of his tongue. He withdrew his hand and looked at Fang Huai deeply.
"Kong Lingyu, you haven't finished speaking." Fang Huai said.
Kong Lingyu picked up the broom and said, "I'll tell you next time."
Fang Huai nodded: "Yeah."
Behind Fang Huai's back, Kong Lingyu's arms, hanging at his sides, tensed. Smooth muscle lines extended to his wrists, pale skin thinly masking the prominent veins. His broad palms clenched into fists unwillingly. He suppressed his inner restlessness: Wait, wait... now is not the time.
If his partners saw this scene, they would definitely doubt whether the person in front of them was Kong Lingyu. Kong Lingyu, who had always acted arbitrarily, would actually restrain himself. You know, in the industry... Kong Lingyu was called a mad dog by his peers.
Once he sets his sights on you, you will be like a mad dog that will bite off a piece of your flesh.
At this moment, the mad dog they feared was sitting in the car with a sarcastic tone. Once again, he took Fang Huai's phone while he wasn't paying attention and said, "Brother, you're always checking your phone. Is there something important you need to deal with? Or someone important you need to contact?"
"Now that I have my brother's phone, will that person be worried if he can't contact my brother?"
Fang Huai reached out to grab the phone, but Kong Lingyu easily dodged it. Fang Huai leaned against the car door, his tone revealing helplessness: "It's nothing important, I'm just afraid of missing out on messages from my friends."
As soon as he finished speaking, Fang Huai vaguely heard an ambiguous chuckle coming from the side. He turned his head and saw the man beside him, who spread his hands innocently.
The two of them were too natural, and Fang Henian could clearly see the changes in them.
I couldn't help but ask in confusion: "Brother, did you and the senior know each other before?"
Fang Huai didn't want to hide it from Fang Henian. Just as he was about to answer, Kong Lingyu answered, "Of course I know him. I picked up your brother."
