Gradually walking to the foot of the mountain, you can see the twinkling lights of the world in the thick darkness. The sky and the earth seem to be contained in the same crystal ball, with the sleeping mountains and rivers in between, echoing each other from afar.
"I'll explain to my family, don't say anything." Xiao Xingyu instructed Zhang Moyan, "If anyone asks you, just say you went up the mountain with me. It's best not to mention that you saw the Tongzhen Monument."
Is Xiao Xingyu going to take all the blame alone? Zhang Moyan blinked and opened her mouth, but thinking that the Xiao family might feel uncomfortable knowing that an outsider had entered the mountain hall, she said nothing.
"Are you so moved?" Xiao Xingyu smiled and continued walking forward: "We still have a little time, why not express your inner happiness and excitement!"
Zhang Moyan had a mouthful of blood stuck in his throat.
"They said Mo Yan was waiting for us at the door, right?" A soft child's voice sounded from behind Xiao Xingyu's neck.
Xiao Xingyu turned around and looked behind him: "Are you awake? Xiao Maner, how come you are so smart! Yes, that's what I said, okay?"
Zhang Moyan immediately felt something was wrong: "How can you teach a child to lie?"
"I didn't teach her that," Xiao Xingyu said innocently, "She said it herself. Why don't you just ask her to tell the truth?"
Why can the person who was beaten with a stick still be so cheerful and talkative?
"Yes, I know," the little aunt nodded, her voice listless, "If one of us three can survive, then that's it."
Zhang Moyan couldn't bear her desperate look and quickly comforted her: "Don't be afraid. Xing Yu just told me that you won't be beaten at all. There are laws in our country that adults can't hit children."
The little aunt's eyes immediately lit up: "Really?"
"Really? Why don't you ask Xingyu?"
"Xingyu, is what Mo Yan said true? I won't be beaten with a ruler?"
Xiao Xingyu glanced at Zhang Moyan with amusement and said "hmm" in a neutral tone.
"Wow!" The little aunt in the back was about to applaud, "Oh Yeah! That's great, that's great!"
Zhang Moyan quickly made a gesture to her to keep quiet and looked at Xiao Xingyu worriedly. The little aunt immediately understood the meaning in her eyes, stopped cheering, and gently hugged Xiao Xingyu's neck without saying a word.
Soon they reached the back door of the Xiao family. They knocked for a long time but no one responded. Xiao Xingyu put his aunt on the ground and called Uncle Chai. After a while, he heard the rustling sound of footsteps coming, and soon the door opened.
"Oh, little ancestor, where have you been!" It was Xiao Mumu who opened the door. Behind him, almost all the Xiao family members had arrived, and everyone's face had an expression of surprise and joy.
The little aunt didn't dare to say anything and pretended to admit her mistake. Xiao Mumu picked her up and Zhou Xia looked her over. "Glad you're back! Look at how dirty her face is! Grandpa Guotao must have been worried sick!"
Xiao Mumu carried the little aunt to Xiao Guotao. Xiao Guotao covered his heart and closed his eyes: "Finally found you! Where have you been? Did you meet any bad guys? Are you hurt?"
"No, no," the little aunt was very obedient to Xiao Guotao, "I wasn't hurt and I didn't meet any bad people. I was just running around and having fun!"
People gathered around the little great aunt, talking in joy. Zhou Xia looked at Xiao Xingyu and Zhang Moyan, walked over and asked, "Thank you for your hard work. Where did you find the little great aunt?"
Everyone turned around when they heard this question, and Zhang Moyan and Xiao Xingyu immediately became the focus of everyone's attention.
Xiao Xingyu did not answer immediately. Considering that he brought the little aunt back through the back door, and the little aunt said that she did not meet any bad people, everyone seemed to have a vague answer in their hearts.
"Let's go eat first!" Xiao Guotao waved his hand. "Everyone is hungry. Let's talk after we finish eating!"
From afternoon to evening, the entire family went out to search for the little great aunt. The chef, who had also been well fed, cooked dumplings for the family. By the time they finished eating, the Xiao family, whose IQs were average, had almost figured out, through investigation and deduction, that Xiao Xingyu had found the little great aunt in the forbidden area. Then, an inexplicable tension filled the air.
Shortly after the meal, Xiao Xingyu was called into Xiao Guotao's yard. The little aunt held Zhang Moyan's hand nervously, and finally went back to sleep after being persuaded by Wang Ma.
Outside Xiao Guotao's house, Zhang Moyan, Xiao Weijiang, Xiao Weiyu, Xiao Mumu and Zhou Xia were guarding together. No one spoke and the atmosphere was very depressing. Just by looking at this scene, Zhang Moyan knew that the 10 strokes of the ruler must be very severe.
Time passed minute by minute, and it seemed to be particularly long. Suddenly, footsteps were heard outside the yard, and then Xiao Huai walked into the yard and went straight into the house.
It wasn't surprising for anyone to come at this moment, except Xiao Huailai, who was very surprising.
"Xiao Huai, why are you here?" Xiao Mumu stopped him and asked before he went in.
Xiao Huai looked at the lights in the house and said, "Grandpa called me to come over. I don't know what it is."
Xiao Mumu was puzzled, and Xiao Weijiang hurriedly urged: "Kid, go in quickly. If you can help Xingyu, then say something."
Xiao Huai said nothing, lowered his head and walked in.
About ten minutes later, the door of the house opened and Xiao Huai was the first to step out. Under the watery moonlight and lamplight, his fair and handsome face was wrapped in a layer of cold icy edges.
"Xiao Huai, what did Grandpa Guo Tao say?" Zhou Xia went to greet Xiao Huai as soon as he saw him come out.
