Xiao Xingyu came over like a whirlwind and slapped the hood on Zhang Moyan's side with a "bang": "Open the door!!!"
Xiao Huai looked at the man who was coming at him aggressively with a serious look and pressed the unlock button.
There was a "click" sound as the car door opened. In the cool morning air, Xiao Xingyu leaned over and got into the car. He stepped over Zhang Moyan to unbuckle her seatbelt, then grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the car.
The whole action is smooth and done in one go.
Zhang Moyan suddenly saw Xiao Xingyu who had disappeared for a day, and stared at the man in front of her blankly, a little dazed.
His cheeks were angular due to his back teeth, and there was a little stubble on his chin. He was wearing a black shirt with a slightly open collar. Even at this moment, Zhang Moyan couldn't help but sigh, how could an unkempt man be so handsome!
"Where are your things?" Xiao Xingyu stared at the stunned woman.
"In the back!" Zhang Moyan pointed to the trunk.
Xiao Xingyu pulled her to the back of the car, opened the trunk with one hand, and quickly took out Zhang Moyan's two pieces of luggage.
"Xiao Xingyu!" Xiao Huai had already gotten out of the car and stood beside him, sternly admonishing him, "Are you helping her by shielding her? If you keep doing this, she'll be guilty of stealing even if she hasn't!"
"Who said you were going to protect her?" Xiao Xingyu slammed the trunk shut and turned around to confront Xiao Huai face to face. "I see you're not stupid! Why didn't you send her to the police for this? Are you planning to settle it privately?"
Zhang Moyan's whole body shuddered, and she stared at Xiao Xingyu in shock. The slight sense of relief that had risen in her heart when she first saw him was instantly extinguished as if by a bucket of ice water.
Xiao Huai was also caught off guard.
"I didn't steal anything...it's none of my business." Zhang Moyan murmured, twisting her arm in Xiao Xingyu's hand.
However, Xiao Xingyu didn't give her any explanation and dragged her towards the SUV like an eagle catching a chick. He opened the door and pushed her into the back seat, then threw in two pieces of luggage.
He slammed the car door shut, turned to the driver's seat, sat in with an annoyed look on his face, fastened his seat belt and started the engine. The black horse sped away in a cloud of dust, looking rough and ferocious, while Xiao Huai was stunned.
Zhang Moyan stared at the back of someone's beautiful head, and the grievances in her heart surged out like magma erupting.
It would be fine if Xiao Huai didn't understand her and suspected her, but she really couldn't accept that Xiao Xingyu still suspected her even though they were so familiar with each other!
But then she thought, how familiar were they? They had only known each other for a month combined, and the things she had done, like getting drunk and writing that kind of novel, her character was probably even more deplorable in Xiao Xingyu's eyes than in Xiao Huai's.
I wanted to argue but had no words to say, and could only repeat the following few sentences:
"I didn't really steal any notes."
"Can you trust me?"
"I don't want to go to the police."
"Just search me. All my things are here."
…
Xiao Xingyu's jaw was set tight, and he remained silent. After a while, as if he had had enough of her nagging, he said impatiently, "What's the point of me trusting you?"
My heart sank to the bottom of the well and my whole body was cold.
The car quickly arrived at the police station. Xiao Xingyu held her wrist tightly all the way, almost like a police officer's silver bracelet. Was this necessary? After coming to this place, could she still run away?
This is too much!
I couldn't control myself, my eyes started to water.
Watching Xiao Xingyu going through the reporting process with a cold face, stubbornly trying not to let his tears flow, he could no longer hold back his tears when he was taken to the interrogation room by two male police officers for questioning.
As luck would have it, one of the policemen was the young policeman who had been on duty at the Xiao family's home yesterday. The young policeman had seen Zhang Moyan for two consecutive days, and the expression in his eyes had become quite complicated.
Wiping away tears, she briefly recounted her conversation with Xiao Guotao last night, and then talked about the reason why she left the Xiao family overnight. In fact, there was no profound reason, it was simply because she felt ashamed to stay in the Xiao family any longer, so she wanted to take advantage of the dark night when not many people were paying attention and leave.
Zhang Moyan gradually burst into tears. She didn't know what she was crying for. It seemed that she was crying because she was so embarrassed and failed, and everything was a mess; it also seemed that she was crying because she was wronged, and it seemed that she was also crying because Xiao Xingyu personally sent her to the police station.
She couldn't tell which of these three reasons made her more sad, but mixing them together was enough to make her cry.
Her crying wasn't like the shrill, wailing cries of others. Instead, she remained silent, unblinking, tears streaming down her face like a floodgate. Her jet-black hair, half covered by a stream of tears, made the two male officers feel like they were bullying a sensible little girl. Finally, the young officer came over with a tissue and begged her to stop, saying that outsiders would think they were lynching her.
I finally finished recording my confession while sobbing, and when I signed my signature, my tears had not stopped yet, and my signature was blurred.
The two policemen had never seen a suspect cry so hard before. It didn't look like he was confessing but rather like he had suffered a broken heart.
As men, they were not very good at dealing with this situation, so they quickly organized the confession and replaced it with two female police officers to take Zhang Moyan to the detention center.
Zhang Moyan followed the policewoman like a zombie, and had no idea how she got into the police car and was taken away. When she came to her senses, she was found locked in an iron cage with several disheveled women.
The light in the detention center was bright, but for some reason, the whole world seemed gray.
A big sister came over to try to get close to her. Without asking why, she said that it was obvious that she was wrongly imprisoned.
