Chapter 18 Can it be more awkward?

"Thank you so much, you are so good at talking!" Meng Xiaoya waved her hands, but her face could not hide the pride.

She told Zhang Moyan to lie down and looked around: "Is your family there? I want to see them and thank them for raising such an outstanding daughter!"

Zhang Moyan half leaned against the soft back of the bed: "I didn't tell my family because I was afraid they would worry. The doctor examined me today and said there's nothing wrong with me, so I didn't need to tell them."

Meng Xiaoya was silent for a moment after hearing this, then turned and angrily said to Xiao Xingyu, "Look at how other people behave as children. They didn't even tell their parents when they were hospitalized, out of fear that they would worry! What about you? You're just the opposite. You're always afraid that I won't be angry enough."

Xiao Xingyu stood up straight, showing a speechless expression as if he had been shot innocently. He opened his mouth to say something, but restrained himself.

Zhang Moyan didn't expect Meng Xiaoya to attack Xiao Xingyu. She didn't even have time to curry favor with Xiao Xingyu at the moment. If he was taught a lesson and recorded as such because of her, the interview would be ruined.

"Auntie, boys are different from girls. They are rougher."

Meng Xiaoya sighed and turned around: "Girls are really considerate. If I had a daughter like you, I'd have fewer crow's feet. You don't know that he has been in trouble for the past few years. I live in fear every day."

"Really? Something keeps happening?" Zhang Moyan asked out of habit, only to realize it was abrupt after she finished asking.

When Xiao Xingyu heard this, he raised his eyes sharply and looked at Zhang Moyan inquiringly.

But this question seemed to touch the heart of Meng Xiaoya.

As a career woman who always has to be dignified, she can't complain about her son in front of acquaintances, nor can she say it in front of strangers. Zhang Moyan's relationship with her, which is both distant and close, is just right for her.

She immediately burst into conversation, counting on her fingers. "Poisoning, car accidents, falls, losing contact. His good days are all about being away from home all day. I asked him to help me run the company, but he wouldn't listen! And there's no sign of my wife or grandchildren! He's always doing these idle things, never reporting where he's been when he's gone. It makes me start to think about all sorts of things the moment I see him."

Zhang Moyan guessed that what Meng Xiaoya meant by "not doing one's job properly" was the Magic Rock Club.

Outdoor adventures and survival in the wilderness are indeed very scary.

However, an internationally renowned outdoor club was worthless in Ms. Meng's mouth. She couldn't help but sympathize with someone who looked wronged and was so angry that it seemed like a ferocious beast was about to break out of his body.

"Miss Zhang?" Ms. Meng Xiaoya's voice called softly in my ears.

Zhang Moyan hurriedly came back to her senses: "Oh, Auntie, I'm sorry, what did you say?"

Meng Xiaoya didn't answer. Her eyes quickly moved back and forth between Zhang Moyan and Xiao Xingyu. Then she pointed at Xiao Xingyu and asked, "Do you like looking at him?"

Zhang Moyan was embarrassed and realized that she might have been looking at Xiao Xingyu.

"without……"

"come over!"

It was too late. Ms. Meng had already issued an order to her own son: "Let your savior take a good look at it. It's useless except for his face!"

Xiao Xingyu was stunned, wondering what was wrong with his mother.

"Why are you standing?" Ms. Meng slapped Zhang Moyan's mattress and said, "Come sit here!"

"Auntie..." Zhang Moyan's heart trembled.

Xiao Xingyu was stunned for a while, pinched the bridge of his nose, and then exchanged a glance with Zhang Moyan, unable to bear it: "Just think she's sick!"

Before his surprised mother could protest, he turned and left, saying, "I'm going to find Geng Jun."

"Looking for Geng?!" Ms. Meng, her hair neatly tied up, immediately forgot what she was going to say and stood up to chase him: "Stop! You're looking for him? Aren't you afraid your dad will throw you in a pig cage? Ouch!"

A lady wearing high heels twisted her ankle.

"Auntie, be careful!" Zhang Moyan reached out to support Meng Xiaoya, who swayed and fell back into the chair.

The door of the room with the automatic closing mechanism slammed shut with a ruthless click, and Ms. Meng gasped and rubbed her feet.

"Pig cage?" Zhang Moyan repeated in a low voice. This term from the old society is really rare nowadays. She couldn't help but wonder what kind of thing requires pig cage?

The wealthy woman waved her hands, revealing the helplessness of a worried mother: "Unfilial son, I really can't control you anymore!"

Zhang Moyan thought for a moment, then comforted her knowingly: "Let it be, as long as he's happy!"

Meng Xiaoya recovered from the leg cramp and smoothed her knee-length skirt. "I'm sorry to have embarrassed you." Not wanting to talk about it any further, she changed the subject and asked Zhang Moyan, "How is this hospital? If you're not satisfied, I'll arrange for you to move to another one right away."

Zhang Moyan knew she would definitely keep her word, so she quickly stopped her, saying, "No, no, it's great here!" Seeing Meng Xiaoya's disbelief, she added, "The doctors and nurses are very responsible, the food is delicious, the beds are soft, and they even played piano music during lunch break!"

"Really? What piano piece?" Meng Xiaoya asked with interest.

Zhang Moyan was stunned for a moment. She didn't expect her to ask this. Fortunately, she was familiar with the piece. After thinking carefully, she said, "It's Mozart's Double Piano Concerto in D Major."

According to scientific research, the melody of this song has an amazing effect on improving brain power. She listened to it for a whole year during the college entrance examination.

Meng Xiaoya's eyes lit up. "Mozart, my favorite composer! This hospital has some taste!"

Zhang Moyan responded unskillfully: "Mozart is quite good."

Meng Xiaoya nodded: "Xingyu also likes Mozart the most."

Oh, huh?

Xiao Xingyu likes Mozart, and this hospital plays Mozart... Is she too sensitive?

Zhang Moyan shook off her thoughts and suddenly had an idea: "Auntie, did you know that the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra is having a Mozart piano concert at the Music Center next Friday?"
