Chapter 207 Xiao Xingyu VS Xiao Huai

Four o'clock in the afternoon, Ruzhou City Detention Center.

The towering walls stood majestically, the air thick with solemnity. The wide road was utterly silent, even the free wind reluctantly flowing through. Xiao Weijiang parked his Audi A6 diagonally across from the detention center's main gate and stood by it, clutching a spray bottle, his eyes fixed on the tightly closed gray gate beneath the solemn police badge.

Suddenly, the door opened a fan-shaped corner, and Xiao Huai, an elegant man in a dove-grey suit, walked out accompanied by a middle-aged policeman. The policeman said a few words to him at the end, and he politely nodded goodbye to the other party, as proper as if he had just visited Elon Musk.

"Xiao Huai!"

As soon as the police entered the detention center, Xiao Weijiang took the lead and ran towards Xiao Huai with his precious spray bottle.

When Xiao Huai first saw Xiao Weijiang, his expression was complicated for a moment. But when he saw Xiao Xingyu slowly walking down from the Bentley behind him, his face hardened.

"What are you doing here?"

Xiao Huai's voice was cold, and it seemed as if he was talking to Xiao Weijiang, but also seemed as if he was asking Xiao Xingyu.

Xiao Xingyu took off the sunglasses that covered most of his face, stretched out his hand to hook Zhang Moyan, who was accompanying him, and smiled charmingly and gracefully: "How could you, Mr. Huai, be in this darkest moment of your life without my presence? Well, you still look neat and energetic. Mr. Huai is indeed a man who has seen a lot of ups and downs. His mental strength is really very strong!"

Zhang Moyan had to admit that handsome Xiao was a sight to behold wherever he went. Even outside this cage that exuded a depressing atmosphere, he could single-handedly change the scene to make it come alive.

His unpleasant entrance speech naturally earned him a limited-edition eyeroll from the high-quality young people. Xiao Huai glanced at Xiao Xingyu's plastered hand and said, "It's the same for you. It's hard for you to be so strong-willed despite your disability."

Xiao Xingyu looked down at his right hand, which was in a plaster cast, and said self-deprecatingly, "It's not dashing enough."

And it must have affected his charm value, otherwise Zhang Moyan would have been eaten by him long ago.

Thinking of this, he glanced at Zhang Moyan. Zhang Moyan caught the disappointment in his eyes and smiled at him: "If not, you are very handsome!"

Xiao Xingyu was immediately overjoyed. He exchanged a smile with her, then turned to Xiao Huai and said shamelessly, "But a truly handsome man can always master all styles."

Xiao Huai was inexplicably and unexpectedly fed a mouthful of dog food, and his eyes were almost rolling to the sky.

"Xiao Huai, of course I'm here to take you home!" Xiao Weijiang answered tremblingly. He pumped the pressure pump of the spray bottle a few times. "Come on, don't say anything!"

Then, without saying a word, he sprayed water around Xiao Huai like a firefighter.

Xiao Huai's elegant and straight clothes were immediately covered with stains of various sizes. It was like a disaster movie: "What are you doing!"

"Oh, this is grapefruit juice. You must get rid of the bad luck when you come out of this kind of place!" Xiao Weijiang pulled the pressure pump a few more times and sprinkled the last few drops of nectar on Xiao Huai's shoulders.

Xiao Huai wore a look of despair and helplessness. He hadn't looked this shabby even when he'd just left the detention center. Wordlessly, he unbuttoned his suit and took it off, straggling it across his arm. He glanced resentfully at Xiao Xingyu, Zhang Moyan, and Xiao Huaijiang, saying indifferently, "Thank you. I don't need you to pick me up."

After saying that, he walked straight forward.

"Xiao Huai, listen to me!" Xiao Huaijiang quickly caught up with him and blocked his path. "Xiao Huai, I'm here to explain to you that everything Jiang Dazhu said was a misunderstanding. I didn't really want to gamble on the kiln! I just wanted to get close to that Japanese man because he might be related to your grandfather's death!"

Xiao Huai was impatient at first, and was stunned for a moment when he heard his last sentence, but then he turned sideways and passed Xiao Weijiang: "I am not interested in your affairs."

"Xiao Huai..." Xiao Weijiang stood still as if he had been hit by an invisible hammer.

Xiao Huai took a few steps forward, and Xiao Xingyu, holding Zhang Moyan, stood in front of him again.

To be honest, Xiao Xingyu now looks like a gang leader with his arms around the girl and trying to stop someone. Zhang Moyan curled her lips at Xiao Huai with sweat on her face.

Xiao Huai's gaze fell on Xiao Xingyu. For a long time, the two of them just stared at each other, just like two peerless masters in a fantasy TV drama who stood still and fought only with their spiritual sense.

In the end, it was Xiao Huai who spoke first, but he only called Xiao Xingyu's name: "Xiao Xingyu..."

"Yes," Xiao Xingyu raised an eyebrow, slid his hand down from Zhang Moyan's shoulder, straightened himself up, and said slowly, "I'm sorry, I didn't do what you wanted. I told all the parents about your detention. I'm really sorry!"

He apologized, but his tone was so smug.

Xiao Huai was so angry he was speechless. This only made Xiao Xingyu find it more amusing to tease him. "But I have to say, your train of thought is truly unique. You'd rather come to a place like this than have your mouth unlocked! Is this to enrich your life experience, or do you simply believe that our police comrades will definitely clear your name?"

Xiao Huai looked at Xiao Xingyu calmly. "The police need a complete chain of evidence to convict me. Motive, time of the crime, witnesses, physical evidence, and relevant identification. Each of these pieces of evidence is indispensable, and they must be able to corroborate each other. I haven't committed any crime, so what is there to worry about?"

"You're being clever!" Xiao Xingyu snorted. "Do you think that just because you haven't committed a crime, you don't have a complete chain of evidence? If that were true, why are there so many false and wrongful convictions in this world? In fact, given enough time, there's no shortage of people helping you complete the chain of evidence."
