"Xingyu, why did you take down this painting when it's hanging there perfectly?"
When Zhang Moyan walked over, she saw Xiao Xingyu using a Swiss Army knife to carefully pick at the paper on the back of the picture frame with one hand.
"I want to give you a big gift!" Xiao Xingyu bent down and raised his head, a few strands of black hair fell on his forehead, his beautiful eyebrows and eyes sparkled like crystals, "Come, do me a favor, help me hold this layer of paper and lift it up.
"A big gift?" Zhang Moyan didn't know what he was up to, but she came over and pinched the thin paper that had been pried open.
Xiao Xingyu cut the paper along the edge of the picture frame while saying, "Seeing you ogling Zhou Xia's diamond ring, I wanted to buy you one too, but then I thought of something even better."
Zhang Moyan paused and said, "I'm not coveting Zhou Xia's diamond ring."
Xiao Xingyu raised his eyes and smiled at her: "If you're not jealous, then why are you staring at my fingers?"
"I just want to see clearly." Zhang Moyan said.
"Okay, okay," Xiao Xingyu nodded, knowing the situation but not saying anything, and continued to work. "Whether you're jealous or not, I won't allow my woman to envy others, even if I suspect she is. I think I should get a custom diamond ring. I can't be hasty. I'll give you this treasure first. It's definitely more meaningful than a diamond ring. Here it is!"
Having said that, he propped up the paper with the tip of the knife, and Zhang Moyan saw that there was a thin piece of green porcelain stuck on the paper in his hand.
"Come, Moyan, you hold it!" Xiao Xingyu folded the Swiss Army knife and threw it aside. His fingers carefully picked off the porcelain piece at the place where Zhang Moyan held it.
Only then did Zhang Moyan see the porcelain piece clearly. It was a circle with a diameter of about 3 cm. The edges had been carefully polished, revealing the incense ash base. The glaze on both sides was lustrous and thick like fat, and it was actually the blue color of sky after rain!
Zhang Moyan looked at it for a while and asked speculatively in a low voice: "This piece of azure glaze porcelain must be very unusual. You want to hide it secretly here."
"You have good taste!" Xiao Xingyu blinked approvingly and handed the porcelain piece to Zhang Moyan, "I'll give it to you as a token of our love!"
Zhang Moyan realized the extraordinary weight of this piece of porcelain and took it solemnly with both hands. This was the first time she had touched the celadon porcelain with her own hands and she immediately felt a surge of emotion.
"It's so beautiful," Zhang Moyan praised the object in her hand with heartfelt admiration, unable to let it go. "Such a gentle and elegant color, both noble and restrained, no wonder it was loved by emperors and admired by future generations. How did they achieve such a magical and beautiful glaze? The ancients were truly ingenious!"
Xiao Xingyu tilted his head to the side and studied it with her. "This is related to the 'half-baked' technique of celadon porcelain. When the kiln reaches a certain temperature, the temperature needs to be deliberately lowered. This way, the glaze surface will not appear translucent due to the high temperature, and it will have this gentle and subtle moist feeling."
"I see," Zhang Moyan nodded, seeming to understand, and turned the porcelain piece over. "Hey, why are there three strokes drawn with a brush on it?"
"Is it three strokes?" Xiao Xingyu muttered and looked at her.
Zhang Moyan glanced at him and felt a little suspicion and resentment in his eyes. She looked carefully at the three strokes that she didn't know who had done it so carelessly. She stared at them for a long time and suddenly an idea flashed through her mind.
"Are these three dots?" She swallowed. "Are they raindrops?"
The man who was so close to her finally smiled with a smile on his face.
Zhang Moyan was stunned. He looked at Xiao Xingyu, then at the porcelain fragment in his hand, then back at Xiao Xingyu. His mind was a little confused, but after sorting it out a little, he asked nervously, "You have fired celadon porcelain? This... is your work?"
Xiao Xingyu admitted generously: "Yes."
Zhang Moyan was so shocked that her breathing paused. She just thought that this piece of porcelain was a part of a treasure from the Northern Song Dynasty, or it came from the hands of a particularly famous collector, and at most there was a legendary story behind it. She never expected that this was actually made by Xiao Xingyu!
"Then, then aren't you going to climb the Tongzhen Monument?"
There was a moment of amazement, and the next second he was swept by an inexplicable fear, and Zhang Moyan's voice was trembling a little.
Xiao Xingyu smiled calmly and put his arm around her shoulders: "That's not the case. Look at this thing of mine, it's just this piece. Can it be considered a vessel?"
"It's such a small thing, it shouldn't count," Zhang Moyan speculated. "It's neither a plate nor a vase. Oh, and I know JDZ is famous for a kind of porcelain painting. Is this also a piece from one of those paintings?"
Xiao Xingyu smiled and shook his head: "No, it's actually the bottom of a teacup."
As he said this, he picked up a small cup from the Kung Fu tea set on the table and turned the bottom upwards to show Zhang Moyan.
Zhang Moyan took it and compared it. Indeed, this piece of celadon glaze porcelain looked like the bottom of a teacup.
"This is my masterpiece from when I was nine years old," Xiao Xingyu patiently explained to Zhang Moyan, looking at her bewildered eyes. "We Xiao family children have been practicing kiln firing since we were young. During the summer vacation of my third grade, my grandfather put me in solitary confinement for swimming in the Wild River. I was punished to fire the kiln for a week, so I just haphazardly made a bunch of little things to save effort. I still remember that after I started the kiln, I pissed my grandfather off so much that he basically threw everything away. But I was more sentimental back then, and I would say goodbye to each finished product. It was this bit of sentimentality that led me to discover that among the pile of porcelain, there was a teacup with a sky-blue bottom!"
At this point, Xiao Xingyu smiled and said, "I'm really no less lucky than others!"
"Is there only one among many?" Zhang Moyan asked.
