Chapter 249: One Day Is Fate

Unexpectedly, even weekday clinics require queues. Zhang Moyan went at a bad time; the hospital was closed for lunch, so she had to wait until the afternoon to see a doctor. This wasted several hours, but the only good thing was that her eyes were no longer swollen by the time she saw the doctor, and she wasn't treated as an outsider.

In fact, she didn't feel very uncomfortable. She went to the hospital just to get a medical certificate. But maybe because she looked so listless, she really looked sick, so the doctor actually prescribed her a few boxes of medicine.

On the way from the apartment to the hospital, several bus stops and shopping mall advertising screens were playing the promotional video of "Please Come Out of the Mountains". This is a common practice during the release period of movies nowadays, but this time there is a missing person notice for Chen Yun attached at the end of the advertisement. With the large-scale investment and the reports on the Internet and television, "Looking for Chen Yun" has become a topic of concern across the country in the past two days. The way "Please Come Out of the Mountains" has become popular this time is unprecedented and will never be repeated.

During the two or three kilometers, Zhang Moyan came across such advertisements several times, and each time she saw them, she was frightened. On the way back, she subconsciously avoided the main road and went home through a park.

April is the season with the strongest spring, and two o'clock in the afternoon is also the time of the day when the sun shines the best. The blue sky and white clouds, the green trees and red flowers, and the lush grass, all the beautiful scenery is shining brightly in the bright sunlight.

The tightness in her chest didn't lessen at all, but after all, in a public place, Zhang Moyan finally stopped crying.

I wonder if I will regret breaking up the next day?

If I break up with such an outstanding man like Xiao Xingyu, I will probably be punished by God and never meet someone I like again.

Hate it, why curse yourself!

Zhang Moyan kicked off a small stone from her toes and sat down weakly on a shaded bench.

She sat facing a circular central square where several young people were practicing their skateboarding skills. They would often fall flat on their faces while jumping off the boards, but the nimble young men would always be on their feet in less than a second. A little further away, three children were chasing each other on bicycles with training wheels, while their young and beautiful mothers gathered nearby, chatting and laughing. Under the wisteria trees at the edge of the square, several groups of elderly people were playing cards, noisily chatting and having a great time. Not occasionally, couples would pass by her, each one of them showing a lot of affection.

It turns out that there are so many people in this world who don't have to go to work and enjoy their free time on weekdays. No wonder people who work would joke that they are office workers. They can't go out and enjoy the beautiful spring time, but can only be exploited like animals in the company.

Alas, with a doomsday-like depressed mood, everything seems to be pessimistic.

Suddenly, an old lady with silver hair came straight towards her with two bags in her hands and sat down on her right without saying a word.

Zhang Moyan looked around, somewhat puzzled. There were many empty chairs on both sides, so why did this old lady insist on coming over and squeezing onto a wooden board with a stranger like her?

But it seemed impolite for her to stand up and leave as soon as the other person sat down, so Zhang Moyan had to take out her cell phone to look at it to offset the discomfort.

After the old lady sat down, she started taking things out of her two pockets. Zhang Moyan looked carefully and saw four cat bowls and two bags of cat food.

The old lady methodically arranged the cat bowls in a square on the ground and filled each one with cat food. Each one was piled like a small mountain. Almost as soon as she set up the stall, cats began to gather towards their location from all directions.

There were eight cats in total of various colors, big and small, they were probably wild cats in the park.

These little guys must be the old lady's regular guests. Each of them is chubby, and there is no trace of Zhang Moyan in their cold eyes. They come over and just meow softly at the old lady. Some of them even step directly on Zhang Moyan's feet.

After meowing at the old lady, these snobs went straight to the point, huddling their furry little heads together and starting to eat without any hesitation.

"Ahua, come here!" The old lady grabbed a cow that was too clumsy to get a seat and found a vacant spot for it. Then she pulled out a water basin that had obviously been placed under a chair and poured water into it while advising, "Eat slowly, eat slowly. There's more if you're not satisfied. Drink some water after you finish eating."

Only then did Zhang Moyan realize that it was not that the old lady was trying to squeeze over with her, but that she was sitting at a table that someone else (the cat) had arranged to sit at.

Although I feel a little offensive, the sight of so many furry balls feasting on food is really hard to look away. To be honest, these cats are quite good-looking.

The old lady was talking to the cats by herself and didn't communicate with Zhang Moyan, as if she was too busy entertaining these cats.

The little ones ate their food diligently, and the old lady took out a box of high-quality cat food and squeezed it into their bowls one by one. After each cat had eaten a piece of cat food, she stopped and stared at them for a long time, suddenly wiping away a tear.

"Eat more. You won't see me after tomorrow. I'll leave some cat food here. You can eat it for two more days."

Zhang Moyan was surprised. When she heard the old lady's tone, her first reaction was to have a bad association. She thought to herself, could it be that the old lady has a terminal illness?

Thinking of this, she couldn't help but look at the old lady. The old lady noticed her curious look and smiled back.

"Are you okay?" Zhang Moyan asked with concern in a strange tone.

The old lady was startled for a moment, knowing that Zhang Moyan might have misunderstood, and hurriedly explained: "Oh, it's okay, my daughter got married and moved to Chongqing. Tomorrow my daughter will take me to Chongqing to live, and she will never come back."

There seemed to be a lot of unspoken meaning in the old man's brief words, but he didn't say anything else.
