The police officer sitting at the table seemed to be hesitant to speak, and judging from his lip shape, he seemed to sigh slightly. The leader of the appraisal agency accepted Chen Guanfu's request and left a man in a white coat waiting in the reception room.
"Thank you." Chen Guanfu thanked the leader and the man in a white coat who was sitting by the door. He turned around and gestured to the elegant woman beside him, introducing her to the young people in front of him. "This is my wife, Ms. Fujiwara Nanako. Thanks to her meticulous care over the past twenty years, my life has been very stable."
The five young people immediately showed different expressions. Some of them had obviously recognized the identity of Ms. Fujiwara, while others were surprised. Zhang Moyan's reaction was similar to the latter.
First, she realized that she might not have a biological grandmother anymore, and her heart sank. Second, this Fujiwara looked so young! Of course, this youth was based on Chen Guanfu.
Although Chen Guanfu's appearance is very resistant to aging, his age is still there. This lady looks to be in her forties at most, and is definitely in her early forties. If she was with Chen Guanfu for nearly twenty years, wouldn't it mean that she was still a young girl in her twenties when she was with Chen Guanfu, who was already in his prime? (Author: I don't mean to say that Chen Guanfu is not handsome)
Age-gap relationships have always been a type of relationship that Zhang Moyan finds difficult to accept.
Ms. Fujiwara stood up with her hands folded under Chen Guanfu's gentle gaze, and with a shy smile, she bowed to the five young people in front of her and said gently, "Nice to meet you, my dear friends!"
Her gentle and decent manners are very consistent with the public's impression of Japanese women, and she actually speaks standard Mandarin.
When the five young men saw their "grandmother" perform such a great ceremony, they all stood up and imitated her by bowing repeatedly. Some even made an awkward bow.
"Auntie...ah no, hello grandma!"
"Grandma is fine!"
“…Hello, hello!”
The address was a bit confusing. Ms. Fujiwara blushed and looked down at Chen Guanfu. Chen Guanfu curled his eyes at her and handed her a stack of red things from under the table.
"What is this?" A management trainee stretched his neck and muttered in a low voice.
"It looks like a red envelope." Jin Xueyang answered knowing everything.
Zhang Moyan looked at Jin Xueyang in confusion, and Jin Xueyang gave her a look that said, "If you don't believe me, just look."
Zhang Moyan turned around and saw Fujiwara Nanako coming out from her seat, holding something in her hand. She walked up to the five young men and handed one to each of them in order, repeating five times: "Nice to meet you, good luck."
It really is a red envelope. Zhang Moyan sneered in her heart. Chen Guanfu is quite formalistic. I wonder if some reporter deliberately arranged it this way.
As a reporter, how could she let him down? So she numbly pressed the shutter a few times.
The five young people were flattered and at a loss as to what to do.
"We can't accept it. The identification results haven't come out yet!"
The last person to speak was a pretty girl. She firmly pushed the red envelope toward Ms. Fujiwara and said, "I understand the good intentions of you and Professor Chen in giving us this gift. But if the test results prove that I'm not your relative, wouldn't I feel guilty accepting it?"
As soon as she said this, the young people in front were stunned, and the next second they returned the red envelopes they had received to Fujiwara Nanako.
"Yes, yes, we are not necessarily your relatives yet, there is no need to be like this!"
"Professor Chen, Ms. Fujiwara, you are so polite!"
"It's not too late to wait for the identification results to come out."
…
The five young men immediately started pushing and shoving each other with Fujiwara Nanako.
"Everyone, listen to me," Chen Guanfu's deep and mellow voice rang out in the chaos. His voice was not loud and very calm, but he immediately took control of the situation.
"You are all good children. It's very likely that none of you are my relatives," Chen Guanfu said earnestly, sitting in his chair and quietly looking at each young person. "But what if one of you is? I don't want to have the regret of not giving my grandchild a gift when I first meet him or her. I hope you can understand this feeling."
Everyone in the reception room was still, and the expressions of the five young men were all frozen on their faces. Fujiwara Nanako took the opportunity to return to Chen Guanfu.
Zhang Moyan was also stunned where she was. Her gaze gradually shifted from the three women and two men to the bright red envelopes in their hands. An indescribable surge of emotion suddenly surged in her chest. She couldn't help but wonder, who was the woman that the management trainee had mentioned before who was crying with Chen Guanfu?
It must be the pretty girl with fair skin at the end, right? Her eyes do look like she's been crying.
"Ah! Thank you Ms. Fujiwara and Professor Chen!" Jin Xueyang's excited voice rang in his ears.
In a daze, Fujiwara Nanako came to their side without them knowing. Zhang Moyan came back to her senses in surprise and saw Jin Xueyang taking something that looked like a greeting card from Fujiwara Nanako.
Then it was her turn. Fujiwara Nanako nodded and smiled at her, handing her the top card in her hand: "You have worked hard too. This small gift is not a token of my respect."
Zhang Moyan involuntarily took a half step back, as if facing a formidable enemy.
Fujiwara Nanako was slightly surprised, but then her expression became more benevolent. "The professor said we can't give red envelopes to staff members, as it would be seen as bribery. So we carefully selected this gift. Don't worry, it's just a souvenir."
Zhang Moyan still didn't react, her hands hanging straight at her sides, slightly stiff.
Fujiwara Nanako waited for a while, then turned back to ask Chen Guanfu for help. Chen Guanfu fixed his eyes on Zhang Moyan and said with a smile, "Friends from the media, please don't refuse! I know that my search for my relatives has been able to proceed so smoothly and efficiently because you have done a lot of work. Please accept my little gift anyway. It's just a few stamps, even the police officer next to me would accept it."
