Chapter 62, Chapter Sixty-One
With a soft, even breathing, Yuki slowly raised her hand, her long, dark hair falling gently with her movement, landing precisely on Obito's nose. The man's handsome, unblemished right cheek seemed unresponsive, still lost in sleep.
Xue traced his features with her gaze. The disfiguring scar on his left cheek made her frown. His eyes always held a slightly cold glint when he opened them. He had a straight nose, different skin tones on his left and right sides, a tall stature, and well-defined muscles. At first glance, his face appeared resolute, but he had actually inherited the excellent genes of the Uchiha clan.
So this is what Obito looked like after he grew up...
The pain surged like a tidal wave, almost unbearable for her.
What kind of experiences led to this outcome between her and him?
In his memory, he was Obito who would call her "sister" with a smile; Obito who would laugh adorably when she lifted him up high; Obito who always held her hand tightly; Obito who liked to stay in bed and refused to get up; Obito who was spoiled by his parents; Obito who always helped various old ladies with his kind heart, but was often late because of it; the boy who would smile and say that he would become Hokage in the name of Uchiha, and in the end, he turned into a small tombstone in that cemetery.
He's still alive now, and she has to look up to see his height—
However, the two of them could no longer go back to the past. From the night of the Nine-Tailed Fox, they embarked on completely different paths.
She bent down slightly and picked up the shuriken that had fallen to the ground during their passionate encounter.
We must kill him to avenge everyone.
She gripped the kunai tightly; in the repetitive assassination maneuvers of her mission, she never imagined she would turn on him.
The kunai, intended to pierce a vital spot, instead embedded itself deeply into the wooden board beneath the mattress.
"Hey, isn't my sister really that clumsy?"
Obito's voice rang out, tinged with sarcasm.
He reached out, grabbed her slender neck, and pressed her down, his eyes filled with contempt.
"Sister, how can someone who has died once be so defenseless?"
It was unclear whether his words were directed at her or at himself.
Xue gritted her teeth, her face full of stubbornness.
In the empty room, she was pinned down on the bed, completely unable to move, yet her eyes were filled with hatred.
"Why... how can you look at me like that, Uchiha Yuki?" Obito's voice revealed an uncontrollable killing intent.
Why, why—
Xue's breathing was rapid, her eyes bloodshot, and the Mangekyou Sharingan appeared within them, its five petals blooming like a lilac, beautiful yet dangerous. Her voice was hoarse from being choked: "Why!?"
"Then let me ask you! Why did you kill Mikoto, Fugaku, Akatsuki and her child, and everyone else—" Her voice was filled with grief and indignation.
Obito straddled her, his other hand tightly gripping her hands, which were clasped together above her head.
He frowned slightly, then smiled as if he had thought of something.
“Sister, I didn’t kill the clan leader, the clan leader’s wife, or your contemporaries.”
"That was killed by Itachi, whom you regarded as your nephew."
His voice was cold as he looked down at her.
"If it weren't for you..." Xue gritted her teeth.
He interrupted her, his eyes filled with indifference.
His hand, which was gripping her throat, moved upwards, pinching her chin, their two scarlet Mangekyou Sharingan eyes meeting.
"Even without my help, Itachi would... or rather, without my help, you would have died by his sword long ago."
"Doesn't my sister know how much she clung to me after losing her memory?" He continued, a hint of mockery in his voice. "Tsk, my sister was much more obedient after losing her memory... She always obediently helped me and carried out my orders—"
When saliva splashed onto his face, Obito was slightly taken aback, but then he realized what was happening and burst out laughing.
He released his grip on her chin, and Xue turned her head away, her entire body flushed red with anger.
"Don't call me sister!" Xue said angrily.
Obito wiped away the saliva with the back of his hand, lowered his eyes, and because of Yuki's words, he gripped Yuki's hand even tighter.
Xue bit her lip to avoid crying out in pain.
He leaned down and bit her shoulder hard.
Only when he could faintly taste the rust on his tongue did Obito finally give in.
He looked down at her, her eyes glistening with tears from the pain, yet she remained silent, and a strange sense of pleasure welled up within him.
His sarcastic tone seemed to mock her: "If you don't call me 'sister,' should you call me 'Snow'?"
"I'll still call you Xiaoxue, just like Minato-sensei did."
"Hey Uchiha Yuki, do you really enjoy being the Fourth Hokage's mistress that much?"
"She's still obsessed with cheating on Kakashi. What a wicked woman who becomes indulgent once she leaves her brother."
Words are like sharp blades, piercing straight into Xue's heart.
Xue couldn't control the slight trembling of her body, and tears streamed down her face. The atmosphere was silent and eerie, as if the whole world had fallen into darkness. Uchiha Obito found it hard to accept the silence; the Sharingan pattern in his eyes resembled twisted, swirling barbs, and a dark red slowly swirled within them.
"You're not allowed to mention him, Obito Uchiha..."
Obito chuckled: "So, even if he married another woman and had children, even if he's long dead, you still love him?"
"No, shut up! I know Obito; he wouldn't kill his own teacher!"
Her tearful words were filled with anger and disbelief, permeating the air as if they were a tangible presence.
"Then why—back then, didn't you recognize me!" Obito's voice suddenly rose, as if questioning the entire world. "Compared to Minato Namikaze and other insignificant people, we are the only ones in the world who can rely on each other. We are siblings! We are family!"
"If that's the case, I'd rather you hate me!"
"Uchiha Yuki".

Being locked up here, measured by the alternation between wakefulness and sleep, has probably lasted for about half a year.
Perhaps that's how it is, that's how Xue estimated it.
She was sealed with a jutsu, preventing her from freely using her eye techniques and any ninjutsu that relies on chakra.
Because of his indulgence in sex, she had many marks on her body.
Even the area under her eyes had a faint bluish-black tinge, making her look much more haggard.
Xue stood up. The window that could be opened was now firmly nailed shut with black iron plates, and the only door leading to the outside was also nailed shut. The only furnishings in the room were a matching table and chair, with nothing more than daily necessities. There were many books in the corner to pass the time, and on the table were some common convenience store snacks, with several boxes of tricolor dumplings stacked together.
Perhaps because the Akatsuki's plan to capture the Tailed Beasts was drawing near, Obito appeared in his room less and less often.
It occurs occasionally, and only to satisfy the body's physiological response.
Sometimes I wake up from a dream to find my face feeling warm and damp, with my body in close contact with someone.
Physically close, yet emotionally distant.
Even a heartbeat cannot resonate.
