Chapter 80, Chapter 78

Chapter 80, Chapter 78

-

Empty area.

"Yo! Snow." The pure white ninja cat carried a longbow on its back, the bow completely wrapped in brown oil paper, its length even exceeding its own size. Snow bent down and gently rubbed the ninja cat's head, and the little white cat immediately let out a contented whimper. Snow couldn't help but laugh, but quickly suppressed her laughter as soon as she realized it.

Snow removed the weapon from its back and tore open the oiled paper. Inside was a recurve bow meticulously crafted from the remnant of Ice Feather's blade. The main body of the bow was made from the remnant, while the bow arms were cleverly extended from mulberry wood, their ends curving slightly outwards. The bowstring was strung with a strong nylon rope. Snow held it in its hand, finding it incredibly light and easy to control.

The quiver contains only five arrows, with the fletchings arranged in a spiral. This unique design allows the arrows to rotate during flight, significantly improving stability, better overcoming wind resistance, and reducing the impact of posture deviations on accuracy. It is ideal for shooting at long distances or in complex environments.

Snow held a longbow, her elbow slightly raised, her fingers poised to draw the string. She aimed, released the arrow, and its penetrating power was astonishing, easily piercing a distant soda can—and this was only its power without chakra.

The only drawback is that the arrows need to be reused.

Xue pondered, perhaps her Susanoo could use this kind of attack method.

However, it was too late; Sasuke had already been released by Obito and was fighting Danzo.

"Are you leaving so soon?" Little White licked its fur and looked up, its deep blue eyes full of regret, its tone tinged with reluctance. "I'm quite satisfied with you as my owner, I really don't want you to leave."

It's a pity I didn't know about the Fourth Shinobi World War.

Will this owner be able to survive peacefully?

Xue stopped tidying up the arrows, squatted down, and gently stroked Xiaobai's head.

"Okay, I'll come and keep you company again next time, Xiaobai."

-

A cold arrow, whistling from afar, pierced precisely through Danzo's Sharingan, which remained only in his eyes. Its chill, like frost, spread instantly. At the same time, a sharp cry rang out, piercing through Karin's body and then viciously striking Danzo's chest.

Karin!

Xue stood at a distance, witnessing this scene, and felt as if she had fallen into an ice cave, her whole body turning cold.

With tears of blood streaming down his face and nearly driven mad, Sasuke opened his Mangekyou Sharingan and finally revealed a cold smile: "Brother... I've taken care of one first."

Yuki stepped forward and caught Karin, who had been forcefully pushed away by Danzo.

Sasuke frowned slightly and said coldly, "Yuki, being captured and held hostage is a stumbling block. Killing her is just one step on the road to revenge."

Having said that, he ignored the snow and slowly followed behind Danzo, who was staggering.

Overwhelmed by the thrill of revenge, he had no time to think about anything else.

Xue held the bow in one hand and used the other to protect the unconscious Karin in her arms.

She was speechless for a moment, unsure of what to say. Sasuke...

However, the most important thing right now is to kill Danzo.

She placed Karin in a safe place and was about to pull out the arrow behind her when she was stopped by Obito, who jumped down from a high place.

"Hey, Yuki. You ruined Shisui's eyes."

"So what?" Xue said coldly, her right hand gripping the arrow shaft tightly, the arrowhead aimed at Obito's heart. "Shisui's eyes, I'd rather destroy them with my own hands than let them fall into your hands, Uchiha Obito."

Sasuke: "!?"

Danzo: "?!"

Obito: ?

"...Has my nephew gone mad and mistaken me for someone else? Uchiha Yuki."

Obito's voice trembled slightly, though he tried to suppress it. Even though Danzo was already a dying man, this secret wasn't something he intended to reveal until the very last moment. If Sasuke found out, it would be an unexpected turn of events...

Sasuke's scarred face showed a puzzled expression: "Who is Uchiha Obito...?"

"Although I don't know what grudges you Uchiha have against each other, for the sake of the ninja world, for the sake of Konoha," the blind Danzo ripped open his clothes, revealing his aged body bearing the inscribed seal of the Four Symbols Seal. "I absolutely cannot let you leave alive!"

"It's the Four Symbols Sealing Technique! Sasuke, get away from Danzo!" Obito had no time to think of anything else; a sharp arrow had already pierced his chest. His body's instinctive reaction was to protect her. He grabbed Yuki's waist, letting the sharp weapon pierce her again and again.

Sasuke retreated in time, and the three of them stood on high ground, watching Danzo try to use the Four Symbols Seal to take them away while he was on the verge of death.

Unfortunately, Danzo Shimura, who called himself the Dark One of Konoha, failed to take anyone with him.

As Yuki loosened her grip, Obito also released her.

Without hesitation, Obito pulled the arrow from his chest and handed it to Yuki.

His warm blood still stained the sharp arrowhead, and Xue frowned slightly.

"Tsk." Xue took the arrow, wiped the blood off it with the sleeve of her Xiaopao, and put it back in the quiver.

"Alright, stop fooling around, Yuki." The man spoke in a tone like an elder, and Yuki lowered her eyes, remaining silent. Sasuke seemed somewhat exhausted, his gaze fixed on Danzo's corpse on the ground. It wasn't until Obito jumped down from the height and stood beside Danzo's body that he reminded him, "I'm taking this guy with me. Although his eyes were destroyed by Yuki, he still has other value. Sasuke… don't be too hasty. Go back to headquarters and rest for a bit. You've used up too much of your eye power. If you keep pushing yourself like this, you'll run into trouble sooner or later. If you lose the power of those eyes, you'll achieve nothing."

"A ninja, in order to achieve their goals, must endure. Don't you agree, Yuki?" Obito touched the small patch of skin on his chest that had been pierced by a kunai, revealing his normal skin tone. With Hashirama's cells, his body had fully recovered. He stored Danzo's corpse in the Kamui dimension and returned to Sasuke's side.

Sasuke: "..."

Sasuke frowned and looked at Yuki, who had been silent all along, and asked, "Yuki, who is Uchiha Obito?"

Obito's movements froze slightly, but he quickly regained his composure.

He changed the subject.

“Before that, Sasuke, I have a suggestion for you.” Obito’s gaze fell on Karin, whose eyes were tightly closed and who seemed about to wake up. The Uzumaki clan is known for its powerful vitality and abundant chakra reserves. An ordinary ninja would be fatally struck by a Chidori piercing their heart, but Karin was still stubbornly alive. “That woman… you’d better abandon her and give her the final blow properly—”

Obito was abruptly interrupted by Yuki's gesture of holding a longbow and drawing the string.

Xue coldly rebuked, "Do you want to die?"

Obito shrugged and said nonchalantly, "Do you think you can kill me now that you've broken the seal? You know you're always very clear-headed, but you're not ruthless enough. Uchiha Yuki."

Sasuke was unclear about what had happened between the two. Wasn't Yuki following Madara voluntarily? And who was this Uchiha Obito she was talking about?

But he felt like he'd heard that name somewhere before. His brows furrowed, his eyes filled with confusion.

"There's no need to ruin our cooperation plan with Madara for the sake of an outsider, Yuki." Sasuke felt that Karin's life could be put aside for the moment, because in his heart, no one was as important as Itachi.

"Karin saved you, Sasuke, many times," Yuki argued. "What if one day I become a burden to Sasuke?"

Sasuke wasn't used to her analogies, which gave him a bit of a headache.

"Can Karin compare to you? You and I are each other's last remaining family, Uchiha Yuki." He looked up at her, their eyes met, and Yuki understood; the fire of revenge in his eyes could no longer be suppressed. If she weren't a member of the Uchiha clan, if she weren't Uchiha Yuki, in Sasuke's eyes at this moment, she would just be a disposable tool.

"Wow..." Obito exclaimed softly, watching the two arguing fiercely. "Then I'll be going now."

Sasuke's hands were already full of the chakra needed for Chidori, and bursts of white light flashed, illuminating his scarred body.

"Stop, Sasuke. Don't do this..."

Snow blocked Karin's path.

"Snow, you betrayed me before for Madara. Now, are you going to betray me again for an outsider?"

Sasuke's face was expressionless, icy cold.

Xue put down her bow. "If you want to kill Karin, kill me first."

Sasuke's steps came to an abrupt halt, and the Chidori in his hand went out.

He exuded a chilling aura, his dark pupils unfathomable. From the age of seven, he had lived every day for revenge. If Karin had become a burden, and if he hadn't killed her back then, it would have been tantamount to letting Danzo go, then what had he been striving for every single day for the past ten years?

Uchiha Yuki, what are you thinking?

"Sasuke!"

The two looked towards the sound coming from the other side of the bridge. It was a Konoha ninja, who looked very young. Yuki recognized her; they had met briefly when they were capturing the One-Tailed Jinchuriki. She had been Sasuke's teammate. While Sasuke was distracted by the other woman, Yuki had picked up Karin and was about to leave when Sasuke's unexpected words forced her to stop.

"Put down Karin, Snow."

Sasuke stopped her, his eyes revealing dark Sharingan with three tomoe.

Yuki understood that if she didn't let go of Karin, Sasuke would fight her.

Sasuke frowned slightly as the female ninja from Konoha launched into a long speech.

"Sakura, you said you wanted to join me and betray Konoha, so my wish is to destroy Konoha."

"You really would betray Konoha for me? Fine... prove it to me."

Sasuke watched coldly as Yuki reluctantly put down Karin and stood helplessly beside him.

He pointed to the phlox on the ground.

"Then kill this guy, and I'll acknowledge your membership. Sakura."

Sasuke grabbed Yuki's hand, which was trying to stop him, and whispered, "That's a ninja sent by Konoha to kill me. I'll take care of her."

Xue clenched her fist. "Are you really going to kill your former teammates with your own hands..." She turned to the side, but before she could react, Kakashi Hatake suddenly appeared, catching her off guard. Kakashi grabbed Sasuke's left hand as he unleashed Chidori, interrupting his Lightning Release.

In the chaos, Yuki seized the opportunity to pick up Karin and hide in a secluded spot. She first used her chakra to heal Karin, but Karin, who had woken up, grasped her hand. Karin forced a heartbreaking smile: "Thank you, Yuki... but please go help Sasuke first. Aren't you each other's last family?"

"Karin..." Just as Karin said, if Sasuke's life and Karin were used as leverage, she would choose Yuki without hesitation, just like Sasuke. "Then you should rest well first."

On the other side, after some persuasion from Kakashi, Sasuke couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"Bring the weasel..."

"Bring Daddy...bring Mommy..."

"If you bring the entire Uchiha clan here, then I'll give up on revenge!!!"

Snow stopped in her tracks, seemingly affected by Sasuke's emotions. She looked at Karin and Sakura, but made a decision in her heart. She had to return to Konoha first... For a moment, she met Kakashi's gaze. Was it because they were once lovers? It seemed as if he had seen through her subconscious thoughts, yet he said nothing.

Sasuke's Wind Release shuriken was then blocked by Kakashi's Earth Release, and the battle under the bridge intensified.

His steps toward helping Sasuke were halted once again.
