Chapter 83

Chapter 83

Guests came and went in an endless stream, making Obito wonder if half of Konoha had come to the banquet. Always hidden in the shadows, he knew everything about everyone Yuki had ever met, from their backgrounds to their fighting styles. These guests were no exception.

Happy wedding.

The speaker was Yamato, an ANBU ninja skilled in Wood Release. He always covered up Kakashi and Yuki's relationship, seemingly not having any particular affection for Yuki, but his sensory abilities far surpassed those of ordinary ninjas.

"Take good care of Xue, you brat!"

Nara Shikaku, the patriarch of the Nara clan. In the world of illusion, Yuki is appointed as his subordinate.

Unlike the old Konoha Village, Yuki and Minato-sensei have had far fewer interactions now.

However, the man next to Shikaku looked at him with a depressed expression.

"What's wrong, Shikara-senpai?" Obito asked with a smile, his face beaming like that of a victorious general. Don't think he didn't know; Nara Shikara loved Yuki, and even though Yuki was branded a rogue ninja, this man still harbored desires for her.

It kept swirling in the upper echelons of Konoha, again and again.

As he flipped through the Uchiha clan's files, he almost managed to find out where Yuki was at her base several times, which was truly perplexing.

She was just Xue Zeng, an ordinary team member...

“…It’s nothing, I just don’t understand why Yuki chose you.” Shika Ryo said, his gaze falling on Yuki, who was surrounded by the Uchiha clan members. Obito didn’t quite understand, perhaps because in Yuki’s genjutsu world, she no longer appeared to be sixteen years old. He was about twenty years old here, and while Obito couldn’t quite put his finger on the difference between Yuki’s appearance at sixteen and twenty-three, he felt that she was no different from the Yuki he had imagined.

Obito couldn't help but feel happy, and he couldn't help but laugh out loud. He said, "Because we are family by nature... or rather, lovers?"

Upon hearing this, Lu Liang's forehead immediately creased with a furrowed brow: "You little rascal..."

He wanted to say something more, but Obito, as the groom, was quickly pulled away by the others.

Obito hadn't expected that almost all of his classmates from the same year at the Ninja Academy would come.

Asuma Sarutobi, Kurenai Yuhi, Anko Mitarashi, Guy... In short, whether he could recall their names or not, Obito had some recollection of them. He downed cup after cup of sake, yet showed no signs of intoxication; the dopamine rush stimulating his brain.

However... he was almost overwhelmed with toasts and couldn't keep up with them all!

"You little brat, we shouldn't have let you live at Xue's house in the first place. It's true what they say, proximity makes the heart grow fonder, isn't it!"

Uchiha Ritsufumi changed out of his priest's robes and into a black suit. He stared at Obito: "I remember that time, at the entrance of the clan compound. I wanted to say a few words to Yuki, and you protected her like a wolf cub. It was as if if I actually said something about you two living separately, you would pounce on me and bite me."

Obito chuckled, putting on a smooth and worldly face: "No, no, Brother Ritsu! Come on, let's drink!"

While drinking on the day of Lidong, Obito secretly rolled his eyes and silently poured the wine into his space using space-time ninjutsu.

He wouldn't drink the wine that was trying to break him and Xue up!

"I never expected Yuki to choose you. I originally wanted Yuki to marry..." Fugaku, dressed in a formal suit, looked serious as he gazed at Obito. His inappropriate words were interrupted by Mikoto. Mikoto covered her mouth and chuckled. Obito was practically raised by Yuki, and she didn't want to cause any unpleasantness.

Mikoto held Sasuke's hand and said some simple words of blessing.

“Uncle Obito…” Sasuke’s expression seemed unhappy. He raised his head, his small, white face scrunched up: “You must protect Auntie well. Don’t let Auntie cry or get hurt!”

Obito bent down and raised his fist. His expression was serious: "I promise, I won't let Yuki shed a single tear or lose a single hair."

Sasuke wrinkled his nose, reluctantly bumping fists with Obito: "If you can't do it, Uncle Obito will turn into a puppy!"

"Sasuke, how can you say that about Obito-senpai?"

Itachi took Sasuke's hand, and Sasuke, somewhat unhappy, threw himself into Itachi's arms.

He said angrily, "That's how it is... My aunt was originally supposed to be my brother's and my bride, but now Uncle Obito has taken her away..."

Itachi's gaze shifted slightly towards the snow, then he gave a helpless smile: "Obito-senpai, please don't mind Sasuke's childish words."

Obito: ......

Obito: He says he doesn't care, but it only makes it harder for people not to care.

This feeling is like whenever he's not home.

Those two rascals are capable of the shameless act of stealing from homes.

No, in reality,

These two did indeed do such a thing.

No, in reality.

These two did indeed do such a thing.

"Itachi, Sasuke, what are you talking about?" Yuki walked over, smiling gently.

Obito subconsciously touched his nose and changed the subject: "Sasuke asked us when we're going to have kids!"

Sasuke frowned upon hearing this, wanting to say something, but Itachi quickly covered his mouth. Itachi smiled and shook his head, leaving little Sasuke deflated as Obito embraced Yuki and whispered intimately in her ear. Yuki's face visibly flushed red, but she didn't say anything in response.

Having a child with Obito's closest blood relation doesn't seem so bad, does it?

The brief moment of intimacy was quickly interrupted, after all, the bride and groom are the indispensable protagonists at a wedding.

"Obito, you're going to be the next Fifth Hokage! As Minato's disciple, don't you dare embarrass Minato!"

It was someone from the Yamanaka clan, whom he wasn't very familiar with. Mentioning Minato-sensei, Obito subconsciously glanced at Yuki, observing her micro-expressions. Minato Namikaze, arriving late, looked travel-worn, still wearing the Fourth Hokage's cloak. His still-dazzling golden hair and deep blue eyes were like the ocean. Seeing Obito looking in their direction, he first greeted him, then looked at Yuki beside Obito.

"Obito, please take good care of Yuki!" the blond, blue-eyed man said with a gentle smile. Kushina stood beside him, holding the hand of six-year-old Naruto.

“Minato-senpai, Naruto has grown up so much.” Xue bent down slightly and looked at Naruto, who was still sleepy and pouting.

Naruto liked this; it made him feel valued.

He smiled, his ears turning slightly red as he faced the beautiful bride.

"Happy wedding!" Naruto shouted.

Kushina covered her mouth and laughed, saying, "This child takes after me, very carefree."

The conversation between Yuki and Minato was polite yet distant, but Obito couldn't help but feel happy.

This means that in this world, Uchiha Yuki belongs only to him and loves only him.

Even Minato-sensei wasn't ranked high in her heart.

-

In the early morning, the sunlight gently streamed through the window, falling on Obito and Yuki's faces.

Obito opened his eyes and looked at Yuki sleeping soundly beside him. His heart was filled with her, and he felt so happy that it seemed unreal.

It was a month after the wedding, and Obito was gradually getting used to the daily life here.

Although it differs slightly from reality, it is a wonderful world.

After their marriage, he and Xue continued to live in the same house.

How should I put it? Everything was so beautiful it seemed unreal.

"Why are you awake so early?" Xue slowly opened her eyes, still sleepy.

Obito's lips curled into a gentle smile, and he couldn't resist placing a light kiss on her forehead: "Good morning, Yuki."

Like a dream, he had fantasized countless times about such moments: exchanging good mornings, good afternoons, and good nights with Xue, holding hands and spending the rest of his life together. It's alright, it's a dream that all of humanity is caught up in. So why shouldn't he indulge in it, to have such a beautiful dream? In Xue's dream, he was the closest person to her, and he was merely playing along, weaving this dream with Xue.

The two sat at the dining table, Yuki tasting the breakfast he had prepared. Actually, he wasn't very good at cooking. From a young age, he had lived in Yuki's house, and his memories of his parents were far less vivid than his memories of Uncle Shimo and Aunt Shiratsuyu. During their time living together, there weren't many opportunities to use his cooking skills. When he was little, Yuki was in charge of cooking; after he developed an awareness of gender, he took the initiative to take on household chores. When he was studying, he mostly relied on the allowance Yuki gave him to eat at the dango shop and Ichiraku Ramen shop in the shopping district. After becoming a ninja, he stopped taking Yuki's money and started earning his own mission rewards… Later, his body fused with Hashirama's cells, and gradually, he even abandoned his basic physiological needs.

However, when faced with snow, those physiological reactions cannot be suppressed.

Back to the present moment, one thing Obito really wanted to complain about was why he and Yuki still had to go to work in the world of Tsukuyomi?!

Damn it, can't he and Xue be together all the time, all the time?

He kissed Xue goodbye in the entryway of his home.

"Obito, you should set off soon too." Seeing Obito's resentful expression, Yuki smiled helplessly and reminded him, "Be careful that Minato-senpai doesn't criticize you for not doing your job properly. You're an elite ninja who's been appointed as the next Hokage."

Obito pouted, wrapped his arms around Yuki's waist, rubbed his face against her cheek, and said, "I don't care what others say, I just want to be with Yuki. Or, Yuki, turn me into a doll and carry me with you!"

"You idiot Obito!" Yuki wrapped her arms around his neck, her eyes serious and determined: "What have you been feeling uneasy about ever since we got married?"

Obito was stunned. Yuki frowned, her beautiful almond-shaped eyes staring straight at him.

He bent down slightly, and their foreheads touched.

"I like Obito, I only like Obito."

"Don't be anxious, don't be afraid."

She spoke softly, her bright, clear eyes making Obito somewhat afraid to look directly at her.

He dared not dwell on whether she truly felt the same way he did.

Even after she left, he remained feeling lost and dejected.
