Chapter 16 V2

"The tactic of sparing someone's life won't work on me."

Xiao He didn't care who the person was. He quickly took out a pen and, imitating the actions of other academies, wrote the two large characters "fifth day of the month" on the blank sign.

Go ahead and argue if you want, I'll strike first.

"You?! You've gone too far!"

Before he could finish speaking, a huge folding fan came hurtling over.

Xiao He crouched down, and Hong Lian leaped up; neither of them was injured.

"Swish swish——"

The folding fan circled in mid-air before returning to its owner's hand.

A little girl with a ponytail, about the same age as Xiao He, was dressed in clothes that looked expensive.

Beside her stood a tall, thin man wearing gold-rimmed glasses, leaning on a slender gold cane, with a faint smile always on his face.

"Oh? Which family's young lady did you bump into?" Xiao He asked Honglian.

“You’re really unlucky.” Honglian shook her head with a click of her tongue: “This is the only noble academy among all the affiliated academies.”

The girl glared at her and angrily shouted, "You knew that, yet you still dared to steal it?!"

"Young lady, that's your problem." Honglian crossed her arms. "Think about it, out of all these affiliated academies, who would dare to compete with you?"

The girl paused, then blurted out instinctively, "Titans?... Impossible, they wouldn't dare!"

"Hmm, then think about it again?" Honglian looked at her with great interest.

“You…” The girl looked Honglian up and down, and Honglian’s figure made her feel ashamed.

Then, as if suddenly remembering something, she looked at the two of them in shock: "No way?! Such an unlucky academy is still around?!"

"No way? Such a prestigious academy has actually been merged?!" Honglian covered her mouth, mimicking the girl's tone in astonishment.

Just as Honglian felt sad, the girl was also immediately disarmed upon hearing these words.

"Instructor Zhuxuan! I must teach them a lesson! Right now!!"

"Huh?" Honglian raised an eyebrow. "Golden Bamboo Pole? Long time no see, you've become even more like a bamboo pole!"

The man seemed to have great manners; even though Honglian called him by his most hated nickname, he still smiled without changing his expression.

"Xiao He, let me introduce you to that tall, slender bamboo pole. It's called the Golden Bamboo Pole, oops, the Golden Bamboo Pavilion."

Honglian turned her finger and said, "And that little princess is named Jinling. Don't be fooled by the fact that they both have the character 'Jin' in their names; they're not related by blood at all! It's just that the Golden Butterfly Noble Academy has a requirement that everyone must change their name to include the character 'Jin' during their enrollment, whether they are a tutor, a student, or the dean."

"Oh..." Xiao He suddenly realized.

"Heh! Little Lotus??" Jinling glanced at Xiao He with utter disdain, paused for a moment when she saw the lotus-patterned hat on his head, then burst into laughter, clutching her stomach: "Oh my?! Did you time travel here?? Hahahaha..."

Xiao He nodded solemnly: "Yes."

"Hahahaha...you, you're too...?" Jinling was almost speechless: "So corny! Anyone who didn't know better would think it was a zombie resurrected?!"

"This is my first time here. Can zombies be resurrected?" Xiao He asked, following her lead.

Jinling could hardly believe that there were such primitive people in the world.

"Sure!"

"Really?"

"Hahahaha... How can you really believe that?! Oh my, how can someone like you get into the Cloud Realm? Is the City Lord planning to give up on the selection? Hahahaha!"

"Hey, little princess, shall we stop here? We need to get settled in. You all step aside for a bit, okay?" Honglian said with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Jinling's smile suddenly froze.

She remembered why she had come here.

"Hey?! You?!"

"Me?" Honglian pointed to her own nose, feigning ignorance.

"I told you! This is the place I've set my sights on! Don't you understand?!" Jinling was instantly furious.

"I understand! But you like it, and I like it too!" Honglian tapped the sign with her finger: "See? The fifth day of the month, see?"

"That? That doesn't count! That's her despicable and shameless act!" Jinling pointed at Xiao He, gritting her teeth, and even trembling with anger.

The number of students at King Butterfly Academy is not large; they are all wealthy young men and women from Flying Dragon City. This time, when they came to choose a new school site, Jinling practically took care of everything.

If they don't get a good spot, other students might complain.

Honglian spread her hands: "But the words on this sign can't be erased!"

"You're despicable!"

Xiao He suddenly heard a commotion, turned around and looked back. In the short time that followed, several more people had come to make their selections.

"Look, look, instead of wasting your time throwing a tantrum here, you should hurry up and find another plot of land. Otherwise, the last remaining plot will belong to your most precious courtyard, you know?" Honglian pressed her advantage, wanting to get rid of this troublemaker as soon as possible.

"Damn it!" Jinling's fingers cracked. "I! I challenge you! If you lose, you have to transfer this land to me!"

“I disagree.” Honglian shook her head: “Why should I agree? This territory already belongs to Chuwu. Why would I gamble with you for nothing?”

"You?! You..."

Jinling's mind raced for a while before she angrily threw out a large stack of silver notes from her spatial bracelet.

Honglian raised her eyelids, her face full of disdain.

"How much? Don't try to fob me off like a beggar. I won't bet with you if it's not more expensive than land."

"Fifty! Tens! Millions!" Jin Ling practically spat out the words through gritted teeth: "Fifty million Novo gold coins!!"
