Chapter 227 Angelina's Wish

Two days passed quickly.

Xiao He was living in a regular short-term rental apartment when he received two high school diplomas from Luca Di and a letter from Valerie early in the morning.

The letter said that the 11th Regiment had gone on another mission, and that it happened to coincide with the time when Xiao He left.

Valerie expressed her regret at not being able to attend her farewell and said she was looking forward to seeing her again.

Xiao He also kept this very ordinary letter because Valerie was her first true female friend, and they both called each other "best friends".

She had indeed bought too much food.

She hasn't stepped out of the door in the past two days, and whenever Horry asks, she says she's studying recipes.

In fact, she did try to study the sword manual, but as expected, she couldn't understand it. She only learned a few simple moves, which she might be able to use someday when she was pretending to be an ordinary person...

After receiving the letter this morning, Xiao He, as usual, went back to sleep.

Several newspapers were laid out on the bedside table, all containing real-time news from inside and outside the capital.

One of the newspapers had a headline that read "Nogao 11th Regiment Returns in Triumph," but just one day later, there was a report about a hundred-person regiment setting off again.

In the eyes of the people of the capital, the 11th Regiment was synonymous with "God of War," and they never stopped fighting since the start of the defensive battle.

The High Court Support Team is not a student team; many of its members are alumni who graduated years ago and still want to improve themselves through various means.

After being lazy for two days, Xiao He had lost all motivation and just wanted to take a few days off, preferably staying at home and not going anywhere.

In her hazy state, she caught a whiff of fragrance through her nose, which was buried under the covers.

Turning my head to the side, I could see the glass door to the kitchen, and inside was a familiar figure.

The morning sunlight slanted across the cutting board, making the thin slices of cantaloupe appear crystal clear.

Xiao He's eyes widened immediately; she hadn't even noticed when Wang Xuefeng had arrived.

Silently glancing around, the entire house was neatly arranged...

"Could it be that he came back last night?" Xiao He stared at the ceiling, trying to recall.

She only remembered that she slept soundly yesterday and slept until dawn.

I reached into the blankets and realized that my cuddly plush toy, which I always used to sleep with, was gone. After searching around, I found it placed on the bedside table.

Xiao He breathed a sigh of relief, and after a long while, he muttered to himself, "So what I was holding last night wasn't a baby..."

She didn't think to ask Wang Xuefeng how he managed to do it so quietly; she only felt that she had never considered him an outsider, which was why she was completely unaware of his presence.

Similarly, she didn't realize when she started to have the habit of sleeping with a plush toy.

"Xuefeng...I'm so hungry..."

"It'll be ready soon, you can get up now."

"Um……"

Xiao He stretched again before slowly sitting up, twisting his neck.

"If you've finished your work, shall we set off after breakfast?" Wang Xuefeng said as he walked out of the kitchen carrying a fruit platter and some savory pastries.

“Then let me call Angelina…” Xiao He replied immediately, his yawn interrupted halfway through.

"good."

Wang Xuefeng couldn't help but chuckle as he watched her messy hair flying in the air.

"Did you buy all these kitchen utensils?"

"yes!"

"You want to learn to cook?"

"I..." Xiao He's guilty voice came from the washroom: "It's a gift for you! Don't be shy!"

"Huh?" Wang Xuefeng was full of questions: "A gift?"

"Yes! A deluxe package! A 50-piece set! It'll make you look incredibly impressive as a gift!" Xiao He exclaimed, even he himself believed it.

"..."

Who wouldn't love a husband who can cook!

Xiao He's final, brilliant remark made Wang Xuefeng happily accept this "luxury gift."

"Ahem, then I'll research more dishes in the future."

"Remember to take me with you!" Xiao He reminded him immediately, even though his mouth was full of foam.

Wang Xuefeng shook his head helplessly. He knew she still wanted to learn to cook, but she was worried that talking about it now would interfere with his plans.

As always, Xiao He finished in half a minute, sat down at the table refreshed, tied on a napkin, and picked up a bowl and spoon in one smooth motion.

She doesn't like sweets, so Wang Xuefeng specially made savory cakes and, fearing she might be thirsty, also served her a fruit platter.

"Sigh... What I make is nothing compared to what you make..." Xiao He sighed resentfully after only two bites.

"It's alright." Wang Xuefeng sat opposite her, eating and nodding.

Hearing this, Xiao He raised an eyebrow: "It's alright? Have you tried it?"

"I was a little hungry when I came last night, so I ate the leftovers you put in the fridge," Wang Xuefeng said calmly. "They tasted alright."

Upon hearing this, Xiao He blushed and said, "I... I didn't cut it very evenly, haha..."

"A kitchen knife, you'll get used to it after using it a few times," Wang Xuefeng said with a smile.

With his comfort and encouragement, Xiao He suddenly felt confident again.

"Um!"

I've made up my mind!

"From now on, use kitchen knives for fighting!"

-

Angrina could not enter the capital, or even approach its outskirts, for fear of being misunderstood.

It hides its figure in the mountain valley, and although it is a little eerie when it is motionless, it will not scare people as long as no one passes by.

Once everything was ready, it sent a thought to Xiao He, who replied, "Coming right away."

Over the past two years, it has flown almost all over the uninhabited areas of the entire Nuojin continent, searching for its kind in a way unique to the dragon race.

It turned out that it really was the only dragon left on the continent.
