Chapter 81: Mr. Zou is Engaged

Ning Yifan had finally managed to coax Shen Yueyan into submission when Mr. Wu called him urgently to the bar.

"Encounter" in the box.

"No way, Mr. Zou, why is it so sudden? You're getting married right away without even hearing about your engagement?"

The inexplicably strange atmosphere tonight was broken by a sudden scream.

Master Wu stood up suddenly, looking as if he had heard some world-class joke.

His jaw dropped when he heard the news. He sat down again and took a sip of wine angrily. It seemed that there would be one less single person among them.

Mr. Zou didn't say anything, just kept drinking. Before they arrived, there were already five or six empty bottles in front of him. Now the table was full of bottles and he was still drinking.

Ning Yifan couldn't bear it anymore and snatched the wine glass from his hand.

"Damn Zou Shengting! If you have something to say, just tell me. Why are you hanging around like that?"

Zou Shao was interrupted by his sudden action, stunned for a moment, looked back at him, and laughed inexplicably.

Ning Yifan was stunned for a moment, because that glance gave him something that did not belong to him.

The Mr. Zou he knew shouldn't be like this.

In his impression, Mr. Zou usually had a head of red hair that stood up, ostentatious and flamboyant. Coupled with his pair of phoenix eyes with upturned corners, he was even more unruly than him. He always looked nonchalant, and no matter what happened, he would always say, "That's nothing!"

They nicknamed him "Peach Blossom Fairy" because of his pair of peach blossom eyes that looked so affectionate even to dogs and his pink lips like flower petals. Zou Shao was called "Rose Fairy" because of his red hair and passionate personality. They used to dislike these two titles because they sounded too feminine, but later they looked at each other and it seemed that the titles were not wrong and quite descriptive, so they gradually accepted these effeminate titles.

But now, the red-haired man who always stood guard with vigor and energy suddenly fell down for some reason and scattered limply, just like a red rose in full bloom that suddenly withered, catching everyone off guard.

The room fell into silence again. Even the simple-minded Mr. Wu noticed that something was wrong and did not dare to speak any more.

"She's gone..."

Suddenly, an extremely hoarse voice sounded.

Zou Shao sat dejectedly, his eyes staring straight ahead, his hair drooping down, covering his eyebrows and eyes, making it impossible to see his expression.

"On the night of my engagement, he left a letter and left..."

He seemed to remember something and laughed at himself.

"I left without taking anything..."

Master Wu was completely bewildered. He looked at Ning Yifan with his eyes, which lacked wisdom, and asked with his head lowered, "Who is he talking about?"

Ning Yifan ignored him, looked at him quietly and continued to listen to him.

They met in the hospital, where the polarization was severe: either the joy of welcoming life or the pain of death.

On that day, his family welcomed a new baby and his mother was diagnosed with cancer.

That day, his sister gave birth to a boy, and the whole family came to visit. Even he ran over from the bar when he heard the news.

But just as he was about to take the elevator to leave, it was filled with medical staff one after another. He was on the fifth floor and the elevator was temporarily full, so he chose to take the stairs.

If the elevator hadn't been full, if he had gotten on it, perhaps none of this would have happened.

But there are no ifs in life.

Just as he went down one floor, he suddenly heard a cry, as if someone was making a phone call.

He took two steps forward and saw a thin figure squatting on the side, holding a phone in trembling hands.

The girl had her back to him, so he couldn't see her face. He could only see her shiny black hair that fell naturally to her waist, as smooth and soft as black satin.

He stopped for some unknown reason.

She seemed to be borrowing money, saying that a deposit of 20,000 yuan was required. Every time, the call was hung up in less than five seconds, but she still continued to call without getting tired. After the last call, she couldn't help crying.

He was disdainful, not even having 20,000 yuan. Indeed, 20,000 yuan was just a meal for him, so how could he understand the plight of ordinary people?

He was about to leave, but suddenly, the girl made another phone call, so he stopped and continued listening.

As he listened, his brows gradually furrowed.

She wants to sell her hair.

He looked at her beautiful hair and felt a little sorry for her.

It’s just 20,000 yuan. He can give it to her and consider it as a good deed.

But when he opened his mouth, he said, "There's 200,000 yuan in this card. I want to protect you."

He was shocked as soon as he said this. He was obviously trying to do a good deed, so why did he have to support her?

Maybe it was the moment he saw her that her watery eyes were reflected in his heart. He had seen countless women, but had never seen such clean and bright eyes, like a clear spring, with tears and red eyes, showing pitiful grievance, which made his heart beat uncontrollably.

When the girl was about to leave, he only said, "The longer the illness is delayed, the more dangerous it will be."

In the end, he accompanied her to pay the fees and promised to give her 200,000 yuan every month. That night, she was taken to his villa.

Having said that, a smile appeared on Zou Shao's face.

That period was his happiest time. She took care of his mother during the day and went home to be with him at night.

But not long after, her mother passed away.

He thought she would cry bitterly. After all, she was a little crybaby who would cry when she couldn't borrow money. She cried bitterly when her only relative passed away. But she didn't cry, but for some reason her eyes were swollen the next day.
