Final remarks

Final remarks

As is customary internationally, I will also write a final remarks.

(Ahem, rather than a thank-you speech, it’s more of a confession and personal reflection.) It’s the first time I wrote a novel, the first time I signed a contract, the first time I put my novel on the shelves... There are so many firsts. I am very grateful that I am so lucky to have met so many readers and friends. Thank you all for your strong support along the way!

Since I started writing on May 6, 2021, it has been nearly a year and a half. Many readers have come, and some friends have left. I remember many familiar names in my heart. I am really grateful to everyone for every collection, every subscription, every ticket, and many rewards. Thank you! ! Special thanks to my three cute masters: Aviation Nuclear Fusion (this master's ID seems to have been cancelled, but I still remember it), Xiaofeidu, Caivle. Thank you very much for your support, and there are many other brothers who have given rewards. I won't list them one by one. I hope you don't mind. I am very grateful and remember it in my heart! By the way, I also want to thank my editor "Latiao Dada". Although we only said one sentence from the beginning to the end of the book, less than five words, Latiao Dada has given all kinds of recommendation positions. I am very grateful and silently support my Latiao Dada behind the scenes!

We are all so familiar with each other, the words of thanks are all in the wine, I'll drink it, everyone, please feel free, gulp gulp~~ah! Next, I started to reflect on myself: In the last two months, the updates were really lame, I'm sorry everyone, please forgive me, I won't give excuses, the real reason is that the grades are too bad, I can't make money, I put all my energy into work and life.

Because of my own fault, I disappointed my readers who have always supported me. I am guilty! Then, regarding the content of the novel, it was my first time writing a novel, and I was too immature. I spread my wings too wide, and I was unable to continue in the later stages. Originally, when I signed the contract, I signed for 2 million words, but the world view was too large, so it should have been more than 3 million words if I continued writing normally. Unfortunately, due to various reasons, most of the content was streamlined, and after castration, I only wrote 2.58 million words.

In fact, most of my readers support me to finish it quickly, and they can't stand me dragging it out any longer. But there are also one or two enthusiastic friends who keep asking me to write more. Hahaha, I'm really sorry about that.

The reason why I can't continue writing is, firstly, because the results are really bad, and secondly, the overall conception and writing style of the book have made it impossible for me to continue writing. My thoughts are exhausted and I have no passion at all.

Here is my summary:

1. In novels, plot is king, writing is second, and world structure and setting are third. But as a newbie, I completely put the beginning and the end together, and kept focusing on world structure and setting. The plot was lame, with no excitement at all, and many places that should have been described in detail were briefly glossed over.

2. From the very beginning, I did not put myself in the right position. I did not put myself in the author's perspective, or even in the reader's perspective. Instead, I directly put myself in the role of the protagonist.

The root of everything was that I was reading a novel one night, and then I imagined, if I traveled through time, what abilities would I have to be able to pretend to be invincible? So there was "Immortality and Damage Reversal", so I opened this novel, and then I put these two talents on Bai Donglin...

You may have noticed that Bai Donglin’s abilities, skills, and martial arts are all once-and-for-all, heaven-defying things that do not need to be changed from beginning to end and can be used until death!

How can a smart author write like this? The protagonist has everything, so why bother with the word count and the plot?

The once-and-for-all writing style is the most unfriendly to the author. Damn it, the only one who is happiest is the protagonist Bai Donglin. From this, it can be seen that I really put myself in the position of the protagonist. If it were you, who wouldn't want to solve the problem once and for all after traveling through time? Changing martial arts techniques all the time is so tiring.

So, this is all my own fault, and I brought this upon myself, which resulted in many plots and pretentious segments not having the chance to appear at all.

3. Regarding the original intention of writing this novel, the two talents that suddenly appeared above are secondary. The most important thing is the setting of "the Dao of All Heavens". Sometimes when I read novels, I will suddenly think that the wonderful world in the novel is all imagined by the author and is false. At that time, there will be an inexplicable sense of loss and emptiness, so there is "the Dao of All Heavens". Hahaha, the fantasy world is real. The author writes books as one of the means for the strong to spread traces. The low-level martial arts world is also an information exchange of the will of the heavens. I wrote this point of view, which can be said to be the most satisfactory part of this novel for me.

According to the setting of "The Dao of All Heavens", if I were to start a new book in the future, the characters in "Immortality" would still have a chance to appear as the background board and the ceiling. So don't be angry to those friends who asked me to continue writing more. Although this book has ended, those characters are still there, and Bai Donglin is still there, and they will show up someday.

4. I was too hasty to start writing. I didn't know anything and hadn't prepared anything. I just started writing based on my interest. I didn't even have an outline, let alone a draft. I'm not afraid of being laughed at. When the five-colored magic stone "Cangming" first appeared, I didn't even know what it was. I just added a treasure to the adventure. I made it up. Ahem, it wasn't until later that I slowly connected the plot.

To be honest, I am quite impressed with my ability to talk nonsense, as I was able to finish writing this book under such circumstances. I am really ashamed of myself.

If I were to start a new book, it might be a long time in the future, but I would definitely prepare well, learn from my mistakes, and at least make some progress.

Thank you for your understanding and tolerance!

Thank you all for listening to me. This is also a self-reflection for me to remind myself not to make the same mistakes.

above.

Goodbye, friends !
