The Proxima Centauri who received the signal pursed his lips tightly under everyone's gaze and quickly stepped forward.
He skillfully took out a thin personal terminal from the backpack behind him and connected it to the identifier next to the gate in front of him.
Then, the Proxima Centauri rapidly swung its forelimbs, tapping on the keys in front of it that resembled a keyboard.
"Will it work?"
Levi looked at the Proxima Centauri staring intently at him and asked in a deep voice.
When questioned, the Proxima Centauri did not look up.
While rapidly typing on the keyboard, he said aloud, "Don't worry, the algorithm we're using hasn't been changed in 150 years."
Levi frowned: "What if...they recently changed their algorithm?"
"Those Lyles from the Academy of Sciences wouldn't do such thankless work!" the Proxima Centauri said irritably as he typed on the keyboard. "Otherwise, how do you think I control these surveillance devices?"
The next moment, he squinted slightly at his three pairs of visual organs and forcefully pressed a button.
"alright!"
The moment the words fell, the heavy door to the control room slowly opened, revealing Rex inside, his face filled with terror and dressed in gray.
...
First floor of the incubation center.
Aquitas walked through the pile of corpses, his feet sinking deep into the mud.
She fought off the nausea that kept churning, and kept squatting down, turning over the small, thin corpses of Marus while enduring the disgust.
The surface of the corpse was covered with slippery blue blood.
In addition, there are some exposed organs...
An unusually soft and slippery organ slid across her fingertips.
That's the organ of thought!
Aquitas couldn't help but vomit amidst the pile of corpses.
Even so, she did not give up.
Once, twice, three times...
She kept searching through the corpse in front of her.
This isn't...this isn't either...
As more and more bodies were searched, Aquitas's unease and agitation gradually increased.
Where did Marus, number 12, go?!
The thought that Marus, who had given them the information, might have been shot dead here filled her with a deep sense of guilt.
Looking at the few remaining corpses of Marus before him, Aquitas silently closed his three pairs of eyes.
She wanted to give up.
"Who goes there!"
"come out!"
Several loud shouts came from afar.
Aquitas paused for a moment, a hint of wariness flashing in his eyes.
Could it be... that there are hidden enemies on the first floor of this incubation center?!
The next second, a shrill voice rang out.
"We are Marus! Don't kill us!"
Upon hearing that familiar voice, Aquitas's heart pounded wildly!
She remembered that voice!
It's that number 12, Marus!
She quickly moved her short legs and ran towards the direction from which the sound came!
Upon seeing Marus number 12 standing timidly by the wall, a rounded curve reappeared on the skin at the top of her mind organ.
Then, under the watchful eyes of all the Proxima Centauri, she rushed to Marus number 12, crouched down slightly, and hugged him tightly.
Wow!
"Wuhu~"
"Tsk tsk tsk!"
A series of exclamations came from the side.
As for Marus number 12, his brain capacity was clearly insufficient to handle so many complex events.
He stood there, stunned, feeling an unprecedented warmth emanating from in front of him.
Aquitas, regaining his senses, awkwardly released his grip, slowly stood up, and glared at the Proxima Centauri watching the spectacle.
"This is number 12, who risked his life to tell us the news!"
Upon hearing Aquitas's explanation, the surrounding Proxima Centauri looked at Number 12 with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
It's unclear when it started, but one by one, the Proxima Centauri faced Marus the 12th and spontaneously raised a hand, placing it on top of their thought organs.
Unlike placing both hands on top of the mind organs, placing one hand signifies respect, not submission.
These Proxima Centauri paid tribute to Mars, number 12!
Marus, number 12, stood in the crowd, staring blankly at the surreal scene before him.
...
Meanwhile, in the main control room on the third floor of the incubation center.
A man dressed in gray clothes, named Rex, was bound hand and foot and "placed" on the ground.
Rex stared in terror at the group of "rebels" before him, pleading in a low voice, "Please, please, don't kill me."
"Whatever you want, I can give you!"
"I am Rex. I have money and resources. If you release me, I will give you anything!"
Nobody paid him any attention.
At this moment, all the eyes of the rebellious Proxima Centauri were focused on a surveillance screen.
When Aquitas rushed over and hugged a Marus tightly, a murmur of admiration rippled through the control room.
Almost all the Proxima Centauri cast ambiguous glances at Levay.
"Brother Levi, is that Marus, number 12, who gave us the information?"
A Proxima Centauri pointed to the surveillance footage beside him and asked in a low voice.
Levi did not answer, but simply stared silently at the scene before him.
Unnoticed by others, a barely perceptible look of disgust and contempt flashed in Levi's three pairs of eyes.
"Liwai?"
“Ah, right!” Levi adjusted his expression, turned around, and introduced to everyone in a gentle tone, “That’s the hero I was talking about, the one who fearlessly revealed all sorts of things to us.”
