Chapter 23 Destroying the Satellite

Two o'clock in the afternoon.

Accompanied by a group of senior executives, Ye Chen arrived at the completion ceremony site.

The process was not complicated. After the registrant announced the start, Ye Chen went up and gave a brief speech based on his prepared remarks.

Then came the speech by the official representative from Jiangcheng, which of course consisted of prepared remarks supporting industrial development.

Finally, Mousse Technology was officially listed and announced its establishment, with the senior management team making an appearance.

After everyone cut the ribbon together, the drums and gongs sounded, and the completion and opening ceremony was officially concluded.

The time was less than an hour, and it was already three o'clock in the afternoon.

Led by Ye Chen, a large group of people toured the headquarters building and two modern factories.

As the group toured the factory, they listened to the explanations. The dense array of robotic arms inside, controlled by Zhizi, demonstrated various flexible movements, which broadened their horizons. Although most people couldn't understand the technical details, they still had a basic understanding.

The robotic arms used in the outside world are still very rigid and can only perform simple mechanical movements on the assembly line.

However, the robotic arm here, as demonstrated earlier, is almost as precise as a human.

After leading everyone on a tour of the various functional areas of the park, a delicious dinner was arranged.

The whole process is actually quite tedious, but it's necessary to showcase the company's image both internally and externally.

......

A dinner was held at the Mousse Technology Park.

In a test site far away in the capital, many staff members were busy around a three-meter-high circular platform.

Lin Zhenguo, dressed in a white lab coat, stood solemnly to one side, with several other researchers also wearing white lab coats standing beside him.

After Ye Chen handed over the laser technology to him, he immediately organized researchers to study it. They finally mastered it and created the laser cannon in front of them.

"Mr. Lin, based on the latest laser cannon miniaturization technology you provided, we have remanufactured this laser cannon. Its size has been reduced by 70%, energy consumption by 200%, and power increased by 100%..."

A middle-aged researcher held a tablet and introduced the various parameters of the laser cannon in front of him.

Lin Zhenguo suppressed his excitement, nodded calmly, and said, "Begin preparing for the test."

"Old Lin, this test is divided into two parts: a ground test with minimum power and a test of firing into the air with maximum power. This airspace has been temporarily restricted for one hour," the middle-aged researcher continued to report.

Lin Zhenguo asked, "What about confidentiality?"

"Ground testing has no problems under the influence of complex environments."

The middle-aged researcher hesitated for a moment, then continued, "But aerial testing is a bit hard to say. The time period we chose for testing coincided with the period when there were the fewest satellites from various countries overhead, which would minimize the possibility of exposure. However, it would be difficult to escape the US's global monitoring, especially since there may be unknown secret satellites as well."

Lin Zhenguo pondered for a moment, then snorted and said, "Continue the test. Secrecy cannot be maintained. Once we equip the troops on a large scale, we certainly won't be able to hide it. Everyone, speed up the process and try to shorten the time as much as possible."

At this moment, a young researcher nearby asked timidly, "Won't launching it into the air hit a satellite? That would cause a lot of controversy."

Upon hearing this, the middle-aged researcher chuckled and said, "Low-orbit satellites are at least 200 kilometers away, which theoretically is within the range of this laser cannon, however..."

He paused, shook his head, and continued, "The probability of hitting a satellite is extremely low. If we actually manage to hit one, I think we should all go buy lottery tickets."

"Yes, I was overthinking it." The young researcher touched his nose and smiled sheepishly.

After confirming that all preparations were complete, Lin Zhenguo gave the order, and the laser cannon began its formal testing.

A three-meter-high circular platform slowly opens at the top, revealing a laser cannon inside, with its bowl-sized muzzle pointing towards the ground.

In an instant, a red beam of light shot out.

Sizzle!

A sizzling sound of burning air came from nearby, and those around felt the air temperature rise by several degrees.

boom!

Ten kilometers away, a hill was hit and instantly erupted in chaos.

The test results were exactly as Lin Zhenguo had predicted. He nodded and ordered, "Turn on maximum power and conduct the extreme distance test."

As soon as he finished speaking, the researcher next to him made a few adjustments, and the muzzle of the laser cannon turned towards the sky.

"emission!"

The next moment, the air was torn apart again, and a beam of light twice as powerful as before burst forth, shooting straight into the sky.

......

An alarm suddenly went off at the U.S. Department of Defense!

Instantly, a large number of staff members took their positions and began to investigate the cause of the alarm.

"Fuck! What happened?"

"The firewall has been attacked again?"

The staff grumbled, saying that they hadn't even found the culprit behind the last intrusion, and now the alarm was going off again!

Has that cyber ghost infiltrated again?

The staff searched frantically for a while but found no signs of intrusion.

The cause of the alarm was quickly identified: "It wasn't a network intrusion; a secret satellite located over China was destroyed."

"What! The satellite has been destroyed? Who did it?" the Defense Secretary roared angrily. How dare someone destroy America's satellite!

"The last images transmitted back from the satellite showed that it was destroyed by a laser beam!" The staff opened the last transmitted images and saw a red laser beam heading towards the satellite.

"Laser? Where did this laser come from?" the defense minister pressed.
