Chapter 145 China No Longer Sells Goods Cheaply

However, three days later.

Thomson's confidence was dashed, as no Chinese mobile phone company agreed to purchase Stone's 5G chips.

They also made it clear that they would not purchase Stone's chips unless they met the technical standards published by Mousse.

The ball was now back at Thomson's feet.

He was faced with a dilemma: should he rebuild the production line to produce products that meet the technical standards?

Or should we abandon the Chinese market?

This dilemma is one that almost all high-tech companies in the United States have to face!

In addition to high-tech products, problems have also arisen with everyday consumer goods.

John's country acted the fastest; as soon as the US resolution was passed, they instructed their domestic companies to take immediate action.

Hudson is the owner of a British trading company that mainly deals in the import and export of clothing.

For the past few years, due to John's malicious targeting of China, he has not exported anything to China for a year.

Today, having just received notification of the lifting of the embargo, he immediately contacted his three former business partners in China.

These three business partners used to fawn over him in order to secure his company's orders.

He used to be able to take advantage of the price competition among these companies to get the lowest price and make a fortune.

Making money is one thing, but the best part is the feeling of having these people vying to please you and controlling their destiny.

This time will likely be no exception.

Thinking of this, a smug smile appeared on his lips. He couldn't wait to dial the number of his first partner and said arrogantly, "Zhang, it's been a long time. I have an order that I can consider giving to you."

"Really? Mr. Hudson, that's great! How much do you need?" The person on the other end of the phone spoke warmly, their tone unchanged from the past.

Hudson's smile widened. Sure enough, these Chinese were still the same; they'd come running over as soon as they were given a little meat.

He crossed his legs and said casually, "This time I want more than before, 100,000 T-shirts, and I'll lower the price by 30% compared to the last order."

"The last order, the one you mentioned a year ago?" The person on the other end of the phone seemed to recall for a moment before speaking.

“Yes, the last order was $3 per piece. This time, I’ll pay $2 per piece,” Hudson said confidently, holding the phone a short distance from his ear.

Sure enough, a loud voice came from inside: "Two dollars a piece? Impossible, absolutely impossible! Our cost is more than that!"

Hudson remained calm; he was already familiar with these haggling tactics, and in the end, he obediently compromised and agreed to the price he asked for.

He waited until the man finished speaking before bringing the phone back close to his face and continuing, "Two dollars a piece, that's the most I can do, dear Zhang. Think it over carefully. If you don't want to do it, I'll give the order to someone else, and I'm sure they'll be happy to take it."

With that, he hung up the man's phone and repeated the same thing to the other two partners.

Next, he only needs to slowly select from these three companies and let them compete with each other.

Ultimately, he will get a price that satisfies him.

This has been demonstrated in many past transactions.

A day has passed.

Hudson didn't receive a reply, and he shook his head indifferently.

Two days have passed.

Hudson still hadn't received a reply, and he was getting restless.

The third day has arrived.

Hudson still hadn't received any calls, and he was getting a little anxious. He kept taking out his phone to check it, afraid he might miss a call.

Finally, as the third day was drawing to a close, he couldn't resist making a phone call.

But no one answered the phone.

He frowned, and after a while dialed it again.

This time, the call was answered, and there was a lot of noise on the other end.

Soon, the noise subsided, and Mr. Zhang's voice came through the microphone.

"Oh, Mr. Hudson, I'm sorry, I was busy and didn't hear you."

Hudson frowned, and said in a somewhat unfriendly tone:

"Old Zhang, what's your decision? The other two companies have already given me their replies. I'm only giving you a chance because of our long-standing cooperative relationship. As long as your unit price doesn't exceed $1.80, I'll give you the order."

"Oh, is that so? I'll withdraw. You can give the order to them," Mr. Zhang said nonchalantly.

Hudson was taken aback, his face darkening. He continued, "Old Zhang, what do you mean? Are you saying you're not doing it anymore? That will affect our future cooperation!"

Mr. Zhang chuckled and said, "Cooperation is all about mutual benefit. I really can't do it at the price you offered. Since the other two companies can do it, let them do it."

"That's all for now. I have something to do, so I'll hang up now."

Hearing the dial tone on the phone, Hudson's face turned ashen. He slammed his fist on the table in anger and cursed, "How dare you hang up on me! You don't know what's good for you!"

He cursed for a while, venting some of his anger, but a bad feeling crept into his heart.

Sure enough, just as he had predicted, he dialed the other two companies and received the same answer from both.

Whoever can do it, can do it; they can't!

After making the three calls, Hudson became anxious. He was seeing that if he could complete this order, he would make a fortune!

He was unwilling to give up this deal!

After calming himself down, Hudson forced a smile and dialed Mr. Zhang's number again.
