Chapter 13 The Favor of Lady Luck

Of course, all of this is paid content.

The search results came out, and Lin Yu clicked to view them. There was very little information about "Midnight Theater," but the content was largely consistent with what Gao Yang had said.

Type: Multiplayer, Death Dungeon.

Difficulty: S.

Access level: Level 1 to 5.

Start time: Two years ago.

Note: To date, no one has cleared the instance; all those who entered have lost contact.

Lin Yu immediately sensed the anomaly: "All have lost contact." This doesn't necessarily mean that no one came out alive. Was Master Li the one who came out alive?

But why did he go missing? Did he deliberately cut off contact with the outside world?

The truth seemed shrouded in layers of fog. From just a few words, Lin Yu couldn't figure out the answer; there was still too little information!

However, one thing is certain: this Master Li is definitely not that simple!

Hopefully, nothing unexpected will happen. Lin Yu sighed.

Beishan Park, Jiangnan Province.

When Lin Yu arrived, he saw Gao Yang standing at the park entrance, looking around with an axe more than half a person's height on his back, exuding arrogance.

To prevent any accidents, Lin Yu also brought the Qing Shi Sword.

The ancient longsword paired with his handsome appearance perfectly showcased the swordsman's dashing and unrestrained spirit.

Lin Yu greeted him and walked over to Gao Yang, only to see that Gao Yang was holding a piece of black jade in his hand.

"This is... a dungeon key?" Lin Yu asked curiously.

Gao Yang nodded and handed the key to Lin Yu.

Lin Yu took the key; it felt warm to the touch and was covered with intricate patterns, making it seem like real jade.

A prompt quickly appeared on the control panel:

Name: Copy Key

Type: Special item.

Effect: After crushing, you will be randomly matched with teammates to enter the dungeon.

Rating: Special item, no rating.

Lin Yu instinctively reached out to return the key to Gao Yang:

"This thing is too dangerous, you should keep it yourself."

Gao Yang quickly put his hands in his pockets, looking like he was saying, "What did you say? Didn't I hear you?"

Lin Yu was speechless and had no choice but to take the key for the time being.

Lin Yu asked, "Has Master Li arrived yet?"

Gao Yang took out his phone, typed a message, and a few seconds later said, "Master Li said he's already waiting for me on the park bench."

Lin Yu nodded: "Then let's go."

The two walked together into the park.

As night fell, the park was quiet, with no elderly men playing chess or aunties dancing. The sound of their footsteps was particularly loud.

The dim, yellowish light from the old streetlights illuminated the outline of the artificial hill. The two walked around the hill and saw a man sitting on a bench with his legs crossed.

From a distance, Gao Yang asked:

"Hello, are you Mr. Li?"

The swaying shadows of the trees enveloped the man, and neither of them noticed the slight furrow in his brow.

The man quickly sent a message:

"The target has taken the bait. He also brought a companion, which is a bit troublesome, but it shouldn't be too difficult to handle."

A few seconds later, he received a reply: "Plan as scheduled."

The man then stood up and greeted Lin Yu and his companion with a smile.

Upon getting closer, Lin Yu could finally see the man's face clearly: dark skin, deep-set eyes, a pointed mouth and monkey-like cheeks—if not exactly sleazy, then close enough.

Lin Yu immediately became highly vigilant, placing his hand on the hilt of his sword, ready to draw it at any moment.

Gao Yang, standing to the side, swung his large axe and slammed it into the ground, sending sparks flying.

The man stopped, concealing the greed in his eyes, and smiled:

"Hey bro, you even brought your weapons. Looks like you're planning to run a dungeon with me?"

Before Gao Yang could answer, he continued to speak to himself:

"However, I regret to inform you that only one key can be used to enter the instance. Only one of you and your companion can enter the instance."

Have you decided who to let in?

Lin Yu nodded: "We've made up our minds, no one will come in."
