Chapter 29 The Immunity Token

A bloodcurdling scream echoed through the air.

It was an illusory spirit, its appearance quite similar to that of Third Master in his lifetime, but under the shroud of eerie green light, it transformed into a vengeful spirit, ferocious and ugly, with sharp teeth and fangs.

Third Master's corpse also changed, growing gray skin, sharp teeth, and pale pupils. It was only two arms away from becoming a standard gray-skinned monster.

Under the green light, no one survived, not even the corpses!

This is a natural disaster!

As for Lin Yu, after being covered by the green light, he was naturally unharmed!

The Yin-Yang Jade became scorching hot, emitting a blazing white light that enveloped Lin Yu.

This heirloom from the Meilin family saved him once again.

When worn by the living, it can eliminate all negative effects up to level 100. Unless the boss Elisa is above level 100, even natural disasters will have little effect on him!

After realizing he was unharmed, Lin Yu breathed a sigh of relief, then put his hands behind his back and looked at Elisa with a defiant gaze, as if to say:

That's it?

On stage, Elisa's expressionless face furrowed slightly, and her cold voice uttered those two words once more:

"Submit!"

As her voice fell, the eerie green light suddenly intensified, sweeping across the heavens and earth and spreading outwards.

An overwhelming and terrifying pressure descended, and the gray-skinned monsters stopped writhing, kneeling on the ground, too afraid to move. The vengeful spirits also knelt and trembled.

Lin Yu's eyelids twitched violently as he sensed extreme danger.

In an instant, his body was thrown into the air, like a small boat adrift in a raging storm, bobbing up and down, on the verge of capsizing at any moment.

Damn! What's going on? You can't even withstand the Yin-Yang Jade?

As soon as Lin Yu had this thought, the Yin-Yang Jade on his body vibrated violently, and the white light suddenly intensified, rivaling the green light and protecting Lin Yu.

Lin Yu was sweating profusely, as if he had just walked through the gates of hell.

Fortunately, the Yin-Yang Jade did not disappoint me; it promised to eliminate the problem, and it did.

Lin Yu landed gracefully, still with his hands behind his back. Unlike his initial panic and dishevelment, Lin Yu was now very calm.

Even if the sky collapses and the earth caves in, even if there is an abyss behind me, I, Lin Yu, will still stand proudly in this world!

Okay, Lin Yu's gotten cocky!

The eerie green light continued to spread outwards, and Lin Yu stared at it intently, feeling a chill run down his spine!

"If this continues, the entire building will be enveloped by it, won't it?" Lin Yu thought to himself, then he was shocked!

Holy crap! So that's what the audience notice meant when it said: "[The first floor is a safe zone, but only before the performance starts]"!

If someone keeps foolishly hiding on the first floor, they'll eventually turn into a gray-skinned monster or a vengeful spirit.

Lin Yu finally understood why no one had ever cleared this dungeon; even if someone managed to survive to the final level, they would perish under the catastrophic green light.

Unless someone can trigger the hidden quest like I did, kill two level 8 monsters in a row, and collect the Yin-Yang Jade.

Unfortunately, such exceptionally talented individuals are rare in this world!

Thinking this, Lin Yu was not flustered at all. He met the boss, Elisa's gaze without the slightest fear.

After an unknown amount of time, the green light dimmed and gradually receded like the tide.

The theater was deathly silent.

The gray-skinned monster and the vengeful spirits remained kneeling, motionless, as if they were terrified.

In the arena, only two figures remained standing. A girl in a gothic dress stood in the center of the stage, her brows furrowed on her expressionless face.

Lin Yu stood with his hands behind his back, his face relaxed, as if this was not a hellish dungeon, but his own backyard.

Lin Yu strolled leisurely to a fat, gray-skinned monster missing limbs and greeted it warmly.

"Third Master, may you rest in peace!"

"Pfft!" With that, he beheaded the monster with a single sword stroke.

It was a great regret in my life not being able to personally see Third Master off, but now that's all that's left. Thank you, Miss Elisa!

At this moment, Elisa spoke, looking down at him:

"Humanity has come a long way, it is truly remarkable. Now I will give you two choices: submit, or die!"

The tone, the sense of looking down on everything, was irritating.

Lin Yu glanced at Elisa and sneered:

"Give me a choice? If I didn't possess the Yin-Yang Jade, you would have turned me into a monster long ago. You're just powerless against me now, so you call it 'giving me a choice'."

Elisa neither admitted nor denied it, as if she disdained to have any further interaction with an ant like Lin Yu.

After thinking for a moment, Elisa added:

"Human, as the only one to have set foot here with the Yin-Yang Jade, I can grant you some leniency. In return, offer me the Yin-Yang Jade, and I can guarantee your safe departure."

"I'll give you the Yin-Yang Jade, and you'll let me leave?" Lin Yu's voice was filled with disdain.

"Heh, in that case, you'd probably just turn me into a monster, wouldn't you?"

"I initially felt sorry for you and treated you with some courtesy, but I never expected you to be so shameless and disgusting!"

Lin Yu's mind raced. He sensed undisguised malice in Elisa, a stark contrast to the kind-hearted Elisa described in the diary.

What changed her?

Perhaps it was what she had experienced, or perhaps it was something.

Lin Yu had noticed the halo above Elisa's head long ago. If he wasn't mistaken, this should be another family heirloom of the Meilin family.

All the terror here stems from it.

In addition, Lin Yu noticed that Elisa had not moved her position at all, which might be the price of using that item, or it might be a restriction imposed on her by the dungeon.
