"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!"
Monsters leaped down from mid-air, and then, under the crushing force of the sword wheel, they were all reduced to fragments. Not a single one of them was able to get close to Lin Yu.
On the four mountain peaks, everyone stared in astonishment.
It was initially thought that Lin Yu's solo adventure was doomed, with some even believing he was courting death and unable to stop the monster.
Now, Lin Yu's performance has greatly exceeded their expectations.
"He actually managed to stop it!" many people exclaimed in surprise.
"They do have some skill." Some people nodded, a strange look flashing in their eyes.
In the desolate valley, Lin Yu walked alone through blood, with corpses strewn all around, creating a powerful visual impact.
Lin Yu remained calm, unleashing a single sword strike. He did not linger in the fight, but quickly made his way up the mountain, letting the sword wheel crush him as it rolled down, leaving behind a trail of blood and flesh.
Even the masters of Taoism and Buddhism couldn't help but nod in approval.
"Fellow Daoist is indeed a valiant and skilled warrior; few of his age could rival him," the old Daoist commented, then sighed softly.
"However, going into dangerous territory alone is too risky; one's life or death is uncertain."
On another mountain peak, an old Buddhist monk also said, "You certainly have extraordinary abilities, but you should still retreat from this dangerous place as soon as possible."
Then, he sighed, "Unfortunately, the monster won't give him that chance."
The man with triangular eyes looked grim. Among the group, he was the most anxious. He didn't want Lin Yu to come up safely and wished that Lin Yu would die in the monster's mouth.
Hearing the old monk's words, he finally breathed a sigh of relief, then sneered repeatedly:
"You want to kill me? You're not worthy!"
The man with the triangular eyes made up his mind to wait until Lin Yu was surrounded by monsters again, and then find an opportunity to give him a good beating!
Lin Yu ran upwards for about one-fifth of the distance before he had to stop. Another group of monsters leaped and attacked him, their mouths wide and their fangs menacing.
Among them were level 5 monsters from the previous batch that climbed up, but most were level 6 monsters from the later batch; they could be identified by their size and speed.
The level 6 monster is 1.5 meters tall and can leap across 5 or 6 meters in a single bound, even jumping over trees without regard for obstacles.
A few seconds ago, they were more than ten meters away from Lin Yu; a few seconds later, they were right in front of him.
Lin Yu was quite decisive, and with a backhand slash, he unleashed another sword wheel.
With a series of "thuds," the sword wheel swept across, and hordes of monsters fell.
This skill is indeed powerful. Lin Yu is very glad that he bought and learned it back then, otherwise he really wouldn't have any powerful means of killing enemies now.
Lin Yu dared not linger and continued running upwards.
This time, after running for half the distance, he saw hordes of monsters crawling out of the giant pit in the valley, a lush green expanse that stretched as far as the eye could see.
This time, what appeared were level 7 monsters, densely packed together.
They split into four groups and attacked four different mountain peaks. However, Lin Yu's group was clearly given special attention, with twice the number of troops compared to the other mountain peaks.
The people on the other hilltops breathed a sigh of relief; thankfully, Lin Yumei had diverted the trouble to them.
The old monks looked grave; if Lin Yu couldn't hold them off, the pressure on them would increase dramatically.
The triangular-eyed man's smile turned sinister. He felt as if even the heavens were on his side; Lin Yu wanted to come in and kill him, but he was very likely to die here.
Lin Yu said nothing, and then unleashed another sword wheel strike.
Lin Yu was confident and continued on his way without turning his head.
After a fierce battle, Lin Yu suffered no losses other than a significant depletion of his mana.
Behind them, the sword wheel swept across, utterly destroying everything in its path. Swarms of monsters fell, leaving everyone speechless once again.
Those who had previously mocked and ridiculed Lin Yu fell silent. The Taoist priest and the Buddhist monk were also deeply moved and expressed their feelings one after another.
"It's been a long time since I've seen such an outstanding young person. This reminds me of my youth, when I was a chivalrous person, fighting against evil and vanquishing demons."
"Amitabha! I never imagined that you, benefactor, could slay so many monsters all by yourself. Well done, well done!"
The man with the triangular eyes couldn't sit still any longer. Seeing Lin Yu getting closer and closer to the mountaintop, he became increasingly restless, almost jumping up in excitement. He quickly looked at the old monk and said, "..."
"Senior, no, I mean, enlightened monk, that person came to kill me. I risked my life to come here to suppress the monster. You can't just stand by and watch me get killed, can you?"
You absolutely must find a way to save me!
The old monk thought for a moment and said, "Then, shall I try my best to persuade him to lay down his butcher's knife and become a Buddha on the spot?"
Triangular Eyes: "???" What the hell!
But Lin Yu was running all the way up the mountain, and he was less than a fifth of the way from the top. The man with the triangular eyes panicked completely, and sweat was pouring down his forehead.
At that moment, roars, like the dull beat of drums, echoed from within the giant pit in the valley.
One by one, green frogs, each about 3 meters long, climbed up, leaping more than ten meters in a single bound, and quickly charged towards the four mountain peaks. Lin Yu's group continued to receive special attention.
The people on the four mountain peaks looked extremely solemn; the real, brutal battle was only just beginning.
Archers drew their bows and fired arrows downwards, killing many level 5 and 6 monsters. However, they struggled to shoot the higher-level monsters.
Inevitably, the monster charged up the mountain, followed by the most brutal melee, with everyone roaring in fury:
"Let us shed our blood and defend this place to the death, and not let the monster cross this line even a step!"
Lin Yu was about to reach the mountain peak when he was surrounded by level 8 monsters and found it difficult to escape.
The main problem was the high mana consumption, so Lin Yu could only use the Sword Wheel one last time. He planned to save it for dealing with Triangular Eyes, as it wasn't advisable to use it now.
