Chapter 1008 [Observation] Can magic be learned casually?

Chapter 1008 [Observation] Can magic be learned casually?

On his way home, Christie paid little attention to what was happening around him, but a casual glance out of the corner of his eye caught sight of a somewhat familiar figure.

He turned his head to take a closer look.

It really was that unknown gentleman from a month ago.

The other person was teasing a lion cub in a cage.

Christie walked straight over, just as the other person stood up to leave, and he called out to him.

The young man paused, then turned back uncertainly, his calm eyes meeting Christie's. "Were you calling me?"

Christie nodded, then gave him a slightly odd look, followed by the other man's nonchalant voice, "Who are you?"

Christie: ?

He paused, his gaze falling on the other person's eyes, and realized that the other person was not joking.

Christie: "..."

A half-smile played on his lips. “Sir, if I remember correctly, it’s only been a month since we last met.”

The man looked at him silently, and after a few seconds he nodded in realization, but his posture remained casual. "Oh, it's you, Prince Aris."

Christie: "?"

The boy was speechless. He forced a smile, but a swear word appeared on his cheek. "Sir, Aris is another prince."

The man exclaimed in surprise, "Oh, really?"

There was no sign of surprise at all.

Christie looked at him, hesitant to speak, then hesitated again, "This is the first time in my life I've met someone like you."

This is also the first time I've been forgotten.

Oh right, and the first time I got it wrong.

The man didn't take it to heart, saying, "That just means you haven't lived long enough and haven't met enough people."

"..."

Christie was silent for a moment, then heard her husband change the subject.

Have you ever been to the Firefly Forest?

Christie glanced at him. "No."

"Really? That's a pity. I'll go find someone who's been there to keep me company."

After finishing his sentence, the man turned and left.

"What are you planning to do in the Firefly Forest?" Christie asked, following beside him with a hint of curiosity.

The man pondered for two seconds, then turned to look at Christie again, "Hunting, do you know how?"

Christie became somewhat wary. "Yes, but what are you planning to do?"

The man stopped and looked him over thoughtfully, then reached out and patted his head. "Okay, you're the one. I'll come find you tomorrow."

After saying that, he vanished in a flash.

Christie: "?"

He thought for a moment, then fell completely speechless.

The decision was made so suddenly, it's clearly because they were too lazy to look for anyone else...

The next morning.

As soon as Christie came out of the bedroom, she caught a glimpse of her husband, who was already waiting for her at home, leisurely playing with his pet bird.

Moreover, the little bird, who was originally not close to anyone but him, now wanted to stick to him.

Christie: "..."

The man was happily petting the chubby little white bird, not even glancing at Christie.

Christie ignored him, leisurely exercising, eating breakfast, and handling other matters. Only after finishing did she turn to the gentleman who was sprawled on the sofa as if asleep, and ask, "Sir, shall we depart now?"

"Hmm? Okay."

The man lazily got up, tossed the little bird nestled on his lap back into its nest, and said, "Let's go."

Christie glanced at the pitiful little bird that had been abandoned and forgotten in an instant, twitched the corner of her mouth slightly, and then looked away as if she hadn't seen it.

As they stepped out the door, the man turned to Christie and asked, "Would you like to arrive at a leisurely pace or right now?"

Christie smiled. "So you're going to take your time for half a month?"

"It's not impossible," the man said, unmoved by reason.

Christie's smile faded. "We'll arrive now."

The man immediately reached out and put his arm around him, and the next second they were near the outer edge of the fluorescent forest.

Before going inside, the man seemed to have just remembered something and casually asked Christie, "Did you bring a weapon?"

Christie: "...I brought it."

"Then let's go."

Fifteen minutes later.

A flash of sword light, blood splattered, and the beast's head was severed, rolling to the side.

Christie sheathed his blood-stained sword, gripping the hilt with the tip pointing upwards and holding it behind his side. He wiped the blood splattered on his face, took a breath, and turned to look at the gentleman who was leisurely watching the show. He gave a forced smile and said, "Sir, didn't you come here to hunt?"

The man blinked and smiled slightly. "Unless there are special circumstances, I generally don't kill. Otherwise, why do you think I would want to find someone in the same line of work?"

"..." Christie twitched her lips slightly, looked down at her clothes splattered with blood, and frowned slightly.

The man strolled over leisurely, slightly raised his finger, and the air, which had been filled with the stench of blood, instantly became fresh, and the beast's body on the ground disappeared.

Christie glanced down at the clean clothes, her expression relaxing slightly, before looking up at the man. "You don't seem like a Celestian."

The man casually crossed his arms and said, “I didn’t say I was a Serethian.”

Christie: "...?"

Christie stared at him with a deep, melancholic gaze.

The man patted his head. "Let's go, continue."

Christie: "..."

He was speechless.

This is the first time I've been used as a tool.

The two chatted as they walked.

Christie casually swung her sword to cut away the thorny plants blocking her path, and asked with a hint of curiosity, "Since you're not a Celestia, what abilities do you possess, magic?"

The Celestia are born with a certain random ability, unlike magic which allows them to cast spells by chanting incantations.

"More or less," the man replied casually, glancing at him sideways. "Do you want to learn?"

Christie looked at him in surprise. "Can magic be learned so easily?"

The man slightly curled the corners of his lips. "Of course not, but if I say you can learn it, then you can learn it."

“…Okay.” Christie wasn’t entirely convinced.

Time passed quietly, and when they left the Firefly Forest, the sky was already painted with a layer of gold.

Instead of rushing back, they leaned against a tree and admired the sunset.

The man pondered for two seconds, then said lazily, "How about this, I'll teach you magic after you become the crown prince."

Christie raised an eyebrow slightly. "Does he have to become the crown prince?"

"Not necessarily." The man casually brushed the leaves that had fallen on his shoulder.

Christie's lips twitched slightly, feeling that she couldn't understand her husband's thoughts at all.

He looked at the man for a moment, then suddenly asked, "Besides magic, do you have any other abilities?"

The man blinked. "Yes, I can teach you if you want to learn."

Christie: "...Okay."

"It's time to go back."
