Chapter 123 Be Mentally Prepared
Amuro Tooru smiled, and the inexplicable unease in his heart dissipated considerably.
He chatted with the blue-haired man about other things while watching him eat.
Behrfinger: ...? What's with that doting, motherly look in your eyes?!
I can't stay in this coffee shop for even a second longer.
I can't stand it.
Just then, a customer came to pay the bill, so the golden retriever had to return to his post.
As Behrfinger sipped his iced tea, a text message suddenly popped up on his phone.
[Come to Safe House Number 1, kid.]
This tone clearly comes from the organization's mastermind.
He paused for a moment, finished the rest of his iced tea, went to pay the bill, handed the banknotes to Amuro Tooru, who took the change and left in a hurry.
He put his hood up before leaving the coffee shop.
Amuro Tooru glanced at the departing figure, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Is it from the organization?
Just as he was about to put the banknotes into the cash register, he noticed a note tucked inside. Amuro Tooru's expression remained unchanged as he silently put the note into his pocket.
On his way to Safe House No. 1, Behffiner pondered these thoughts.
What did that old crow want him to do? He's not like Bertrand, who can do whatever he wants.
Asti was frustrated and cursed Karasuma Renya in her heart.
Inside the interrogation room at Safe House No. 1, Behringer removed his hood and lowered his eyes.
The screen flickered, and then a crow's head appeared.
"You've had a tough time these past few days, Asti," Karasuma Renya said with his usual words of comfort.
“It’s no trouble at all, sir. It’s my great honor to serve you.” Asti acted more like a fanatical believer than a fanatical believer himself.
Karasuma Renya responded with a satisfied soft voice, his tone softening considerably, though it was different from the gentleness he showed when speaking to Bertrand. At this moment, his tone carried a hint of coaxing.
"You will depart for the United States tonight. Someone will meet you there. Just follow them. As for when you will return, just wait for news."
“Yes, sir.” Asti bowed and accepted the order.
After another brief acting contest with Crow in the interrogation room, the respectful demeanor on Behringer's face only disappeared after he left Safe House No. 1.
He rolled his eyes, put his hat back on his head, and flew away.
Well, it's getting late. He needs to deliver the intelligence to the golden retriever and maybe squeeze out a little bit of emotional points.
On a quiet, atmospheric side street with few people, a gray figure slipped into a bar that had a "Closed" sign.
There was already someone waiting for him inside.
As Behringer sat down next to him, Amuro Tooru poured him a glass of wine, then suddenly paused, "Ah, minors can't drink alcohol."
Bechfenger: ?
He couldn't help but smile. "Bourbon~ Have you forgotten my age?"
Toru Amuro:......
"Ahem, sorry, every time I see your face I can't help but think you're still a minor." Amuro Tooru coughed and then naturally handed over the wine glass in his hand.
Behringer took the glass and then silently rolled his eyes—an elegant gesture that could have killed me.
"So you suddenly asked me to come here because you have something to say?" Amuro Tooru's fingertips traced the cool glass, and he had a feeling that what he was going to say was not good news.
Bechfenger added a few ice cubes to his glass, took a sip, and turned to look at Amuro Tooru. His innocent face was now full of seriousness. "You'd better be prepared for what I'm about to say."
