Chapter 30: All for a Can of Lemon Tea
Bertrand stared at his phone screen with half-moon eyes, as if he wanted to stare a hole through it.
[Oh. —Bertrand]
He put the phone back in his bag, let go of Bourbon's sleeve, and turned to look at Xiao Cang Chunhui, "You're coming with me to Safe House No. 3."
“Okay.” Xiao Cang Chun Hui nodded, knowing that this was a signal that she could join the organization, but she remained calm.
A black, unremarkable car drove towards them and finally came to a smooth stop in front of the three of them.
The car window rolled down, revealing Vodka's face.
Without him saying anything, Bertrand had already opened the car door and climbed into the back seat.
Xiao Cang Junhui glanced at it and chose to sit in the passenger seat.
She felt a strange sense of dread about the baby-faced boy.
"I have other tasks to complete, so I won't go."
Bourbon looked at Bertrand and said something.
Bertrand, his eyes still blurry and sleepy, waved at him. "Go on, go on."
Bourbon nodded and turned to leave.
"Fasten your seatbelts, we're about to go." Vodka glanced at the boy in the rearview mirror.
"oh."
"Go to safe house number 3, vodka."
"Didn't Big Brother say he was going to Number 1?"
"Let's go to number 3 first!"
"Okay, okay, I'll go right away."
Vodka had to change direction.
Arriving outside Safe House No. 3, Bertrand got out of the car and jogged inside. When he came out again, he was holding an open can of lemon tea.
Vodka: ...
Just for a can of lemon tea?
Sipping his lemon tea, Bertrand climbed back into the car and sighed, "Lemon tea is so good! Let's go, Fu-chan~"
...
Outside Safe House 1, Gin, dressed in a black overcoat and smoking, seemed to have been waiting for a long time.
Seeing the car arrive much later than planned, Gin's face turned grim. When he saw the boy getting out of the car, he subconsciously stubbed out his cigarette.
It's obvious without even thinking that it's because of this brat.
"Koto-chan!"
Bertrand ran up to him excitedly, her little face beaming. "Are we going to see Grandpa? Come on, come on!"
Gin: ...
Ignoring him, Gin looked at Junke Kosaki and said, "Come with me."
The latter nodded and followed behind him.
Vodka didn't get out of the car; he waited inside.
Bertrand followed after him, his hands behind his back, bouncing along.
Yes, they followed him into the interrogation room.
Bertrand: ?
So it turns out I wasn't going to meet the old man.
Bertrand glanced at Gin's indifferent expression, then at Kosei's calm demeanor, and paused for a moment. Then he saw a black raven appear on the screen in front of him, with an electrocardiogram fluctuating next to it.
"Hey! Old man!"
Karasuma Renya, who was about to speak: ...
"Sweetie, play over there for a while."
An electronic voice, indistinguishable as either male or female, came through.
Bertrand and Gin were largely unaffected, but Junke Kogawa was a different story.
With just a simple sentence, she seemed to be hypnotized; her eyes suddenly became empty, confused, and even a little painful.
Bertrand sat down in the interrogation chair used for interrogating undercover agents, watching with interest as Kosuke Chun-hui's expression changed.
Gin glanced at Bertrand and wasn't surprised.
No one knows this little madman's personality better than him and the Boss; what he usually shows is just a kind of wicked humor.
Seeing Bertrand standing obediently to the side, Karasuma Renya breathed a sigh of relief.
After all, he was genuinely afraid that the little guy would smash his monitor again.
