Chapter 378 I'm Moving
...
"Hey, Conan?"
Conan, who had just come out of Professor Agasa's house, suddenly heard a familiar voice calling him from behind. He turned around and saw a familiar young man with black hair dyed with silver-red highlights.
"Huh? Brother Liu?" Conan was confused for a moment, then pointed at Liu Qingyao, who was dragging his luggage, and asked in confusion, "What are you doing here?"
Liu Qingyao smiled and said, "Can't you tell? I'm moving."
"Oh, you've moved to this area?"
"Yes, it's at number 17." Liu Qingyao answered as she walked forward, glancing at the short and stocky Conan, and gave him a generous pat on the head with one hand. "Conan, do you live here too?"
17th place?
That's right next to Qianzhu's house!
Conan thought for a moment, then shook his head when he heard Liu Qingyao's question. "No, I don't live here now. I live at Uncle Mori's house. I came here to see Professor Agasa."
Liu Qingyao suddenly realized, "So that's how it is."
Then he continued to pat Conan's head and said with a smile, "If you have time now, would you like to come and visit my new home?"
"Okay!" Conan readily agreed.
The two chatted as they walked for a while, until they arrived at the detached villa marked 'Liu Residence'. Liu Qingyao opened the courtyard gate and invited Conan inside.
"Woof!"
As soon as the two entered, a fluffy white ball rushed over, circled around them a few times, then pounced on Liu Qingyao and rubbed its nose against him, its tail wagging happily behind it.
"Alright, alright, Rice Ball is the most enthusiastic." Liu Qingyao loosened her luggage and stroked the Samoyed, which felt like a big ball of cotton. Then she introduced it to Conan, "Its name is Rice Ball. It's a pet dog that Tao Hui and Mako raised together. It's been temporarily staying with me these past few days."
"Oh, oh." Conan nodded in understanding, then reached out and rubbed the rice ball that had been offered to him.
The rice ball affectionately licked him, and the slightly ticklish sensation made Conan laugh.
After entering the house and putting her luggage aside, Liu Qingyao asked Conan a few questions and then gave him a can of juice.
"By the way, Conan, do you know the residents around here? I think I should bring some gifts for my new neighbors."
Liu Qingyao took a sip of oolong tea and looked at Conan, asking him a question.
Conan took a sip of his juice, thought for a moment, and replied in a very obedient manner, "Actually, there aren't many people living around here. Many people aren't home. For example, there's no one at the Kudo residence at number 21."
He seemed to be talking about someone else's business.
"I see..." Liu Qingyao chuckled inwardly, but listened attentively to his words. "Then there must be people living in my next-door address, number 18, right? I noticed signs of small animals being fed in the yard when I passed by just now."
Conan nodded. "Yes, you've actually met the person who lives there before. It's Chizuru-nii who was with us last time."
"Oh—" Liu Qingyao nodded in sudden realization, took a sip of oolong tea, and then took out dog food and poured it into Fantuan's bowl.
Touching the rice ball that was focused on eating, Liu Qingyao stood up and looked at Conan, "It's almost noon, would you like to stay for lunch?"
Conan waved his hand and chuckled, "No need, I told Ran I'd be going back for lunch, so I should probably head back too."
