Chapter 434 Why Should We Hand It Over to You?

Chapter 434 Why Should We Hand It Over to You?

As another firework exploded, the smiles on people's faces vanished, replaced by fear. They fled in terror, screaming.

A huge burst of fire exploded, almost destroying half of the square.

Because there were too many people at the scene, Qianzhu and the others could not get too close to the square, so they were not affected by the explosion.

However, due to the lively atmosphere and large gatherings at fireworks displays, there were quite a few deaths, serious injuries, and minor injuries.

A large number of police officers were quickly dispatched to cordon off the scene, evacuate the crowd, and take the injured to the hospital.

A man-made disaster turned what should have been a lively summer festival into a tragedy, with many people crying and wailing because of the misfortune that befell their relatives and friends.

Looking at the horrific scene on the other side of the square, Conan's eyes widened, and his hands, hanging at his sides, unconsciously clenched.

Was it done by the church?

If so, why would they do that?

So many innocent people are here...

Those who witnessed the explosion but were not affected by it stared wide-eyed in disbelief.

"What...what's going on?" Ran asked softly, holding Sonoko's wrist as if she were talking to herself.

"My God, how many families will be torn apart and destroyed by this?" Sonoko murmured softly, covering her mouth.

Standing to the side, Qianzhu glanced at the square, then at the people who seemed to be grieving, and finally lowered her eyes indifferently.

Far away from them, as the butterfly landed, a black-haired, purple-eyed youth grabbed the wrist of the dark-skinned, blond youth beside him and quickly moved away from the blast radius.

Amuro Tooru was still wondering when the explosion and the heat wave behind him made him turn around sharply and look at the black-haired man who was bending over and breathing a sigh of relief.

Bechfenger took a deep breath, straightened up, placed his hand on Amuro Tooru's shoulder, squinted at the half-destroyed plaza, and murmured, "There's no mistake, that was Bertrand's butterfly bomb..."

Hearing his murmurs, Amuro Tooru frowned, his eyes filled with obvious confusion. "He..."

Behrfinger shook his head, his tone slightly regretful. "I don't know why either."

He glanced at the square one last time, then took Amuro Tooru's hand. "Let's go. We don't know if there are any members of the organization here."

Amuro Tooru nodded, glanced back, and a dark glint flashed in his eyes as he turned away.

Right now.

The church members who were wrongly accused by Conan and the organization members who were implicated by Amuro Tooru met on a deserted road.

Seeing the people opposite them all dressed in monk and nun robes, Gin and his companions all drew their guns, their eyes warily fixed on the other side. They even began to connect them with the experimental base that had used Bertrand as a test subject.

Protected in the middle, Bertrand raised his eyebrows and curiously peered through the gaps in the crowd at the group of church members.

A woman dressed in a nun's habit stepped forward, placed her hands together in front of her chest, and bowed gracefully to them.

A gentle and melodious voice came from her mouth, "Good night, everyone, nice to meet you."

"I'm really sorry to have stopped you all so suddenly, but you have something we need."

Liz chuckled softly. "Please hand over the gems you retrieved from the Sunset Pavilion to us."

"The Sunset Pavilion? Gems?" Vermouth raised an eyebrow slightly, letting out a charming chuckle. "Why should I hand over what my sweetheart got to you?"
