Chapter 57E Card

Chapter 57E Card

Conan opened each toilet stall one by one until he found an iron bar in the last stall, which was specifically used to store cleaning tools.

Although the iron bar had been cleaned, it seemed to have only been hastily rinsed with water by the murderer, as some bloodstains still remained on it.

In the bucket next to it, a piece of red cloth was thrown in like trash.

Conan picked it up and rotated it along the remaining wrinkles; the marks on it were almost identical to those on the deceased's neck.

Conan, having identified the murder weapon, lowered his head slightly, his glasses reflecting light.

Sure enough, the murderer was that person!

However, what has been discovered so far is insufficient to convict that person.

Conan took the iron bar and red cloth out of the restroom and gave them to the forensic personnel.

"Uncle, Uncle Mori asked me to bring this over. He wants you to check it out."

The generic-looking police officer took the item without a second thought, nodded in agreement, and said, "Okay."

Conan remained deep in thought while back in his costume room.

Is there anything he hasn't discovered yet?

Later, he saw a staff member carrying a large pile of performance costumes and asked with curiosity, "What are these clothes going to be used for?"

The passive skill "Always Answer Questions" is activated.

"These are all clothes that need to be washed."

"Oh... what about those things in the costume and props room?" Conan tilted his head back, looking down from above, and they were indeed quite cute.

"Oh, those? They've all been cleaned. I just took them over today."

Are you alone?

"Yeah, after all, today is the concert of idol girl Yuno Aso. There aren't enough people in other places, so I have to do it myself. Luckily, washing these clothes isn't too troublesome..." The staff member complained a few times. "Alright, I have to get back to work. Kids, don't wander around here."

Okay~

Conan returned to the costume and prop room, put his hands in his pockets, and fixed his sharp gaze on the corpse.

What exactly is wrong...?

Qianzhu glanced at him, then at Xiaolan.

Sure enough, the other party was about to provide ideas for steamed eggs again.

"Don't you think it's strange that the clothes used to wrap the deceased were used? Why would the murderer specifically wrap the deceased up?" Xiaolan asked sincerely.

Qianzhu nodded in agreement, "Indeed, and these clothes are very messy, as if they are deliberately hiding something."

Upon hearing this, Mori's face immediately turned serious, and he and Inspector Megure squatted down and began rummaging through the pile of clothes.

Conan felt an urge to flip through the pages, but after glancing at Chizuru, he held back.

"This is...!" Mori's expression instantly turned serious as he looked at the thing that had fallen out of a pile of clothes. He took out a handkerchief and picked up the card that had fallen out.

The next second, Conan's previous thoughts vanished instantly, and he immediately moved closer.

Inspector Megure's sharp eyes scanned the card in Mori's hand. "E again?"

Mori nodded solemnly and turned the card over again.

The card is entirely white with a gold outline on the front and a large, flowing "E" in the center. The back of the card has a complex gold frosted texture, but the most eye-catching feature is the slightly crooked cross in the center.

“That’s right, this is indeed a card used by ‘E’, but why is it here? Could this case be related to ‘E’?” Mori pondered, resting his fingers on his chin.

Conan looked at the card and his expression turned serious.

This is the fifth time!

The card was found at the crime scene. Although the perpetrators all claimed they didn't know this 'E', what was E's purpose? Why did he leave cards at the scene multiple times?

As he was thinking, he suddenly shook his head violently.

No, no, the most important thing now is to find the murderer in this case!

Upon seeing the card, Qianzhu excused herself to go to the restroom, which gave the corgi the opportunity to take advantage of the situation, and it plunged headfirst into the pile of clothes.

Mori glanced at him sideways but ignored him.

Conan turned the clothes up to the red dress closest to the victim's head and found bloodstains on the hem that matched the wound on the victim's head.

Then he rummaged through the long dress again and found what he was looking for.

A smile appeared on Conan's face.

He finally found it—the decisive evidence!
