Chapter 584: Completely indifferent
Behringer blinked, then looked up slightly. "It's alright, it didn't really hurt that much."
Of course it doesn't hurt.
Because it's fake.
If it were true, I wouldn't be here.
The thought of that stinging sensation made him shudder.
Conan and Ai Haibara, who noticed this, thought he was in pain and was just putting on a brave face.
Based on what Conan saw last night, he guessed that this guy was very afraid of pain.
The more he knew, the more bored he felt.
A person who is afraid of pain often gets hurt while around Bertrand.
Would Bertrand not know this?
He knew it, but he didn't care about it at all.
Upon receiving the flood of emotion points, Behrfinger was overjoyed.
After applying the ointment to both of his hands, Kuno Nayazuki released his hands with satisfaction and handed him the ointment, saying, "Alright, be careful these next few days and remember to apply the ointment."
Behrfinger nodded obediently, "I understand."
Back at her post, Yumeko Morita moved closer to him, her cheeks slightly flushed. "Um, if you're injured, you can leave it to me."
"It's nothing, it's not serious," Behringer politely declined with a smile.
“…Alright then.” Morita Yumeko moved her lips, not knowing what to say, and nodded somewhat dejectedly.
After most of the customers had left the shop, Behringer collapsed into a chair, exhausted.
He quickly received a message, jumped up again, hurriedly left a message for Yumeko Morita, and ran out of the coffee shop.
"Mengzi! I have to go now, I'll leave the rest to you!"
"Ah, okay." Upon hearing the voice, Morita Yumeko looked up and found that Behringer had disappeared.
After leaving the coffee shop, the little bat hidden on his shoulder flew up and transformed back into human form.
Behfinger glanced at him and then ran toward the target address.
X followed behind him at a leisurely pace.
Conan and Ai Haibara, who hadn't gone home yet, followed behind the three of them. Out of the corner of their eyes, they suddenly caught a glimpse of Behringer hurrying across the street, and a man who seemed to be chasing after him.
A bad feeling inexplicably welled up in Conan's heart. He said something to the others and then quickly followed.
"I suddenly remembered I have something to do. You guys can go home first, don't wait for me!"
"Huh? Conan...!"
After glancing at Conan's retreating figure, Ai Haibara stopped the three others who wanted to follow him, saying, "It's getting late, we should go home."
“That’s true, if we don’t go back soon I’m going to get scolded by my mom!” Genta thought about it and agreed, so he said to Mitsuhiko and Ayumi, “Let’s go back together.”
“But Conan…” Ayumi hesitated.
"Anyway, Conan is so smart, he definitely won't be in danger. Let's go back first," Mitsuhiko advised from the side.
"Alright then, we'll head back now. Be careful on your way, Haibara."
Ayumi waved to Ai Haibara and parted ways with her along with two other boys.
Ai Haibara nodded slightly, glanced at the direction Conan and the others had disappeared in, and turned to leave.
Conan used his skateboard to chase after Bechfenger and followed him to the foot of a building.
From the outside, the building looks like it has been uninhabited for a long time.
