Chapter 689 What a pitiful little guy
Conan frowned slightly, lost in thought.
If you really want to put it that way, there are indeed some weirdos who call explosions fireworks.
Mouye: ?
Moreover, fireworks are usually not very noticeable during the day, let alone at dusk.
If this really is an impending bombing at an aquarium, then he has to stop it, but which aquarium is it?
As they walked, Ai Haibara suddenly stopped, and Conan, who was a little behind her, almost bumped into her.
"What's wrong?" Conan asked, puzzled.
Ai Haibara took out her phone, glanced at it, her pupils suddenly contracted sharply, and then immediately opened the dial pad and made a call.
The three idiots who were walking a little ahead noticed that they had stopped behind, so they turned back and looked at Ai Haibara's somewhat panicked expression with some confusion.
"Ai, what's wrong?" Ayumi asked worriedly.
Ai Haibara listened to the ringing of her phone and felt extremely anxious.
Answer the phone quickly, Qianzhu!
Those few seconds felt like an eternity to her.
Finally, the call was answered, and Qianzhu's reassuringly gentle voice came through, "Xiao Ai? Is there something you need?"
"Where are you now!?"
Ai Haibara's heart pounded, and an ominous premonition erupted within her at that moment.
Seeing her like this, Conan's eyelids twitched, and he also put his ear closer to listen.
"Huh? Me?" Chizuru looked around the quiet aquarium, where he was the only person there, and there wasn't a single fish in the water. He smiled slightly. "I'm in that newly built aquarium in Beika Town right now. Didn't I tell you that last time?"
After a slight pause, he continued, seemingly surprised, "But what's strange is that there used to be quite a lot of visitors here, but now it seems like they've all left. Also, there are no aquatic creatures in the water, so it doesn't look like an aquarium at all."
Conan's eyes widened in shock. He grabbed Ai Haibara's phone and shouted, "Chizuru! Get out of there! There's a bomb there!"
The person on the other end seemed to pause for a moment, then responded and followed the signs for the emergency exit towards the exit.
"The person who invited Chizuru to the aquarium was targeting her! Damn it!" Conan cursed, handed the phone back to Ai Haibara, and then took out his own phone to call Kogoro Mouri.
He briefly explained the situation to Kogoro Mouri.
Several exclamations rang out from the other end: "What!?"
Then a commotion ensued.
After confirming that the other party would arrive as soon as possible, Conan hung up the phone and then called Professor Agasa, asking him to drive over and pick them up.
Dr. Agasa is very fast.
Because the driver wasn't him, but some pink-haired, squinty-eyed guy.
They headed towards Beika Town first, while Kogoro Mouri, who didn't have a car, lagged behind them.
To prevent any unforeseen circumstances, Ai Haibara did not hang up the call with Chizuru, but instead pressed the speakerphone button.
You can tell from the sound that the environment across the street is very quiet, which doesn't seem like an aquarium that usually has a lot of visitors.
Just then, a loud "bang" came from the other side, and Ai Haibara immediately exclaimed, "Chizuru!? What happened to you?"
Looking down at the man's shoelace that had broken in an unbelievable way, then at the silver line that had almost tripped him, and finally at the phone that had flown two meters away, Qianzhu sighed softly.
After a few seconds of silence, he suddenly chuckled softly, slowly stepped over the silver line to pick up his phone, and whispered into the phone, "I'm fine, I just accidentally dropped my phone on the ground."
Hearing his reply, Ai Haibara didn't feel relieved. After all, Chizuru was still in the aquarium, which was likely bombed, and hadn't completely left. She asked again, "Are you leaving there soon?"
Qianzhu stared at the closed door in front of her, grabbed the doorknob and tried to open it, then kicked the door a few times with her foot. "This side might not work, because the door is locked, and to prevent me from breaking it open, there looks like a lot of junk has been piled up behind the door."
"What!?"
"If we can't get out, I can only try to go further in." Qianzhu turned around and looked behind her.
The deep blue color resembled a turbulent deep sea, as if approaching it would mean being mercilessly swallowed up.
But before he could take action, he needed to fix his shoelaces.
Qianzhu looked down helplessly at her feet.
01, which was asked to return to the system space, had no idea what its host was planning to do. It just stared blankly at the large pile of snacks in the corner.
After tying the shoelaces so they wouldn't get in his way, Qianzhu got up and walked deeper into the aquarium.
Meanwhile, in the car on their way to the aquarium, Conan scratched his head anxiously.
Because the note didn't give many hints. Although the last sentence said the bomb would be detonated before dark, there was still a chance it would explode whether it was during dusk or after dark.
There is no exact time; we can only hope that Qianzhu leaves the aquarium as soon as possible!
Qianzhu, whom many people were worried about, stood in front of a glass panel, with a small blue jellyfish swimming in the water in front of him.
Qianzhu smiled and tapped the glass with her hand. "Looks like you're the only one in the water."
Whether it heard his voice or not, the little jellyfish nudged the glass with its head.
Qianzhu glanced at the bomb's countdown on the system panel, seemingly unconcerned. She continued to speak softly to the little jellyfish with a slight smile, "You might die after the explosion, since no one else will notice you except me."
"What a poor little guy."
Qianzhu smiled and spoke these words gently, but there was no emotion related to pity or compassion in his eyes.
He placed his hand on the glass, then slowly passed it through, opening it up and stopping in front of the little jellyfish.
The little jellyfish circled his hand once, then suddenly tilted its head down and pressed it close to his palm.
Qianzhu gently grasped it, then carried it through the glass and took it out.
Qianzhu tapped its bouncy head, put it into a small water tank, and then placed it in the system space.
The two cars arrived near the aquarium one after the other. Conan got out of the car and looked around, but there was really no one else around.
At this moment, dusk was falling, but the horizon was already stained with ink.
It was getting dark.
"Where's Qianzhu!" Ran Mouri asked loudly as soon as she got out of the car.
Ai Haibara held her phone; her anxiety had subsided.
Their call had already been cut off on their way here.
They don't know what Qianzhu's situation is now.
