Chapter 760 Stealing Skills

Chapter 760 Stealing Skills

"Furthermore, because the muzzle was fitted with a silencer, it was difficult to fire at a distance. Also, there was a single hole on the sofa opposite, which was probably done by the murderer to create the illusion that the victim committed suicide and to allow the victim's cuff to show signs of gunpowder residue, so he had the body fire a shot."

Conan put his hands in his pockets and said in a low voice.

“There’s one more thing.” Kawasaki Masuru, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up, drawing everyone’s attention back to him.

He reached out and pulled up the broken security chain on the side of the door frame. "This security chain is longer than those in the other rooms, so the murderer could have simply locked the door from the outside, turning the murder scene into a locked room."

"As for how the murderer got here without attracting the conductor's attention, that needs to be investigated further."

Although the intervention of Chizuki and the others caused changes to one of the suspects' rooms, the methods were roughly the same as in the original work, so it did not affect Conan's ability to solve the case.

Since the murder scene was right next door, Chizuru went with Ran and the others to Professor Agasa's room in carriage number 6.

Ai Haibara, who sensed the presence of the brewery, was terrified the whole way, her hand tightly gripping the hem of Chizuru's clothes.

Qianzhu glanced down at her, then suddenly reached out and lifted her up, holding her in his arms like a child.

Ai Haibara was almost startled.

Qianzhu gently patted her back to comfort her.

Sensing a chilling aura approaching from behind, Ai Haibara instinctively lowered her head and buried her face in Chizuru's shoulder.

Then, as she slightly raised her head, she met a pair of sinister eyes.

She froze involuntarily.

Qianzhu patted her gently.

Hearing Ran Mouri and the others chatting from ahead, Ai Haibara slowly relaxed.

"Mr. Amuro, so you've boarded this train too."

Ran Mouri spoke to Tooru Amuro, who was walking towards her.

"Yes, because I happened to be able to snag a ticket for this train," Amuro replied with a smile, then politely nodded to Chizuru behind him.

After learning from Ran Mouri that a murder had occurred on the train, Tooru Amuro said goodbye to them and went to find Kogoro Mouri.

Qianzhu and the others continued walking towards carriage number 6.

During the time she waited in the room, Ai Haibara grew increasingly uneasy, especially after hearing the children say that they had sent a video of her as an adult to Kogoro Mouri. A strong sense of unease instantly overwhelmed her.

Immediately afterwards, she received an email from an address she had never seen before.

[Are you prepared? —Vermouth]

Ai Haibara's pupils contracted sharply, and her hand holding the phone trembled slightly.

Sure enough, the organization's members had already boarded the train to kill her!

She absolutely cannot stay here now!

She glanced at everyone around her, took a breath, put away her phone, and got up to leave.

"Ai? Where are you going?"

"I'm going to the restroom and also to take my medicine, so it might take a while," Ai Haibara replied calmly, then opened the door and went out.

Ran Mouri originally wanted to go with her, but the door was already closed.

"You don't need to have anything to do with the past, do you?" Sonoko Suzuki sat on the sofa, arms crossed and legs crossed.

"But... she seemed very nervous on the way here," Ran Mouri said with some concern.

"I'll go, I need to go to the restroom right now."

After saying this, Kuno Nayazuki put down the oolong tea canister in her hand and stood up.

"Ah, okay." Ran Mouri watched her leave and sat down on the sofa again.

Kuno Naya stood in the corridor, a fan in her hand, a smile playing on her lips, and leisurely walked toward the restroom.

She did indeed need to use the restroom, but Ai Haibara, whom she was supposed to check on, didn't come; instead, she was intercepted by others on the way.

After Shuichi Akai, disguised as Subaru Okiya, had scared the poor Ai Haibara, Behefinger successfully took her away before anyone else appeared.

Béhéphoné led the person to compartment D in carriage number 3, which was outside of Director K's plan. He released his hand from Ai Haibara's mouth, lifted his hood under her surprised gaze, and then made a shushing gesture.

He gave a reassuring smile and said softly to Ai Haibara, "Don't worry, just stay here. No one will come to this room."

"As for those things outside, I'll take care of them for you."

Behrfinger patted her head gently, then quickly left before she could say anything.

Only Ai Haibara remained, sitting bewildered on the sofa.

After leaving the room, Behringer glanced around, snapped his fingers, and instantly changed into a different outfit and even his face.

He walked slowly through the carriage, like an elderly man.

However, he does appear to be an old man.

He walked to the door of carriage A in car number 4 and knocked on the door.

After the person inside opened the door, he casually slipped a note to them and then leisurely left.

Seeker blinked, looked at the note in his hand, then peeked at the old man's back before returning to the room and handing the note to Bertrand.

"Xiao Ye, someone just slipped this to me. See if it's for you?" he said, handing the note to the silver-haired boy.

Bertrand looked up, took the note, and opened it.

"Hmm... never mind." After reading the contents, Bertrand casually tore it to pieces and threw it out the window.

Then he continued to happily play the game that Karasuma Renya had made for him.

After Conan and Kogoro Mouri successfully identified the culprit, Vermouth and her group began to carry out their plan.

Of course, Director Ke's plan has been ongoing.

Hearing the commotion outside, Seeker opened the door a crack and looked out, raising an eyebrow as he turned to Bertrand. "Xiao Ye, it's so chaotic outside. I wonder what's going on?"

Seeing the "Level Cleared Successfully" message pop up, Bertrand put his phone down, stretched, and said, "Why don't I just go out and take a look?"

A wicked smile appeared on his face. He stood up and left the room, grabbing someone at random and stealing Conan's "cuteness to get by" skill.

"Hey, did something happen in the back carriage?"

The woman he grabbed looked flustered, but calmed down a bit when she saw him. She replied with lingering fear, "Because the back carriages caught fire, everyone ran to the front."
