Chapter 806 The title has been hijacked again.

Chapter 806 The title has been hijacked again.

With a slight smile, Qianzhu got into the car with them.

On the way to Tokyo, Chizuru inquired about the request with some curiosity.

Even Conan, who wasn't at the office yesterday, listened intently. He only found out this morning that Uncle Mori had received a request.

Kuno Nayazuki carefully recounted everything to them.

Qianzhu nodded knowingly, then stopped talking and closed her eyes to rest.

Conan, sitting next to him, began to think.

When the car stopped at the address left by Okagi Ichiro, Kogoro Mori couldn't help but sigh through the car window, "As expected, the Yukawa family is a very wealthy and powerful family."

He had already called Ichiro Okagi in advance to say that he would come to handle the case today, so as soon as they stopped the car, they saw Ichiro Okagi running towards them.

"Mr. Mori!"

He extended his hand to Kogoro Mouri, who had just gotten out of the car, and shook his hand. "The master is already waiting in the living room. Please come with me."

"Okay, then I'll trouble you."

Kogoro Mouri handed the car keys to the servant next to him, and then followed Ichiro Okagi into the mansion.

Qianzhu looked up and surveyed her surroundings.

Although he had checked the information Nishino Kazuya had given him once before to confirm its accuracy, it was only to learn about Yukawa Masaki and Yukawa Kiyomi. Furthermore, when he last came to Tokyo to investigate, the Yukawa couple were staying in another villa, so he didn't know much about the surroundings of that residence.

Before entering the house, Qianzhu paid special attention to the architecture.

The buildings are mostly retro-style, with very few modern buildings, and to avoid affecting the overall aesthetics, the few that exist are only one or two stories high.

Qianzhu withdrew her gaze and followed the others into the living room.

Dressed in a kimono, Yukawa Masaki knelt beside the table. Seeing a smile appear on his face as he looked at Kogoro Mouri, he gestured for the other man to sit down opposite him.

The others sat not far away and watched them chat.

"Mr. Mori, I am truly grateful that you could take time out of your busy schedule to come here!" Yukawa Masaki picked up the teapot and poured him a cup of tea. His face was rosy and glowing, and he did not seem to be unable to sleep because of the ghost story.

Kogoro Mouri chuckled somewhat sullenly, picked up his teacup, and took a sip of tea.

Well... lately he's been so bored that all he does is eat, sleep, drink beer, and play horse racing, betting, and pachinko.

Kogoro Mori suppressed the inexplicable guilt rising in his heart, cleared his throat, and asked for details about the "ghost" incident.

Upon hearing his question, Yukawa Masaki sighed and replied in a deep voice:

“I’m also very curious about this. The housekeeper keeps saying that she hears someone crying in the middle of the night this month. Even my wife said she heard it, but she can’t find the source of the crying. I only vaguely heard it the night before last. Because the sounds I heard on both nights were very similar, I suspect that someone is using recordings or something to scare people in secret.”

Kogoro Mouri nodded thoughtfully. "I see..."

“Since the crying only happens in the middle of the night, if it’s convenient, Mr. Mori, why don’t you and your child stay at the manor for the night? That would make it easier for you to investigate this matter.” Yukawa Masaki suddenly thought of something and invited him directly.

Upon hearing this, Kogoro Mouri hesitated, "Wouldn't this be too much trouble?"

"No way, besides, I've long admired Mr. Mori's name. How about we have a drink together tonight? I'd also like to hear about the cases Mr. Mori has solved in the past."

As they chatted, their conversation drifted from the commission to other matters, and they became more and more animated as they talked. During this time, Yukawa Masaki even made sure to have rooms prepared for Mouri Ran and the others.

"......"

Ran Mouri: So, I ended up spending another night at someone else's house without even realizing it...?

On their way to the room prepared for them by the servants, Kuno Naya chuckled softly, "It seems that Uncle Mori is quite popular in some ways."

"That's true." Qianzhu replied with a smile, her gaze falling on the side courtyard, a glint of light flashing in her amber eyes.

It was almost noon, and after lunch was prepared, the servants came to call them to go to the dining room to eat.

When they arrived at the restaurant, the well-dressed Yukawa Kiyomi was already sitting in a seat next to the head of the table. She must have already learned something from the servants. She looked at Chizuru and the others, smiled and nodded to them, and then invited them to sit down.

They chatted idly for a while, and soon Yukawa Masaki and Mouri Kogoro appeared at the restaurant, after which everyone began to eat.

Ran Mouri only then realized that, apart from the outsiders, the only people sitting down were the Yukawa couple.

Although she was a little curious, she didn't ask any further questions.

After lunch, Yukawa Kiyomi returned to her room, Yukawa Masaki continued chatting with Mouri Kogoro, while Chitake and the others strolled around the Yukawa residence as a post-meal walk to digest their food.

Since the cases that Kogoro Mouri needed to solve would not occur until the early hours of the morning, they took a nap in the afternoon to prevent themselves from being too tired to concentrate at night.

So after dinner, they stayed in the room but didn't go to sleep. Ran Mouri, in particular, huddled up next to Naya Kuno, her arms tightly wrapped around hers, looking a little scared.

Even though she knew it was fake, that didn't stop her from being scared...

As the night grew darker and the clock struck midnight, a faint sobbing sound could be heard in the silence.

It sounded somewhat ethereal, not like the cry of a real person.

Ran Mouri shuddered instantly, hugging Naya Kuno tightly while pulling Conan closer to her for a sense of security.

Kuno Naya gently patted her back and comforted her softly, "Don't be afraid, it's just fake. Uncle Mori will catch this charlatan in a little while."

However, before Ran could nod, a sharp, piercing scream shattered the silence, startling her into screaming as well.

Realizing something was wrong, Conan quickly got up and ran towards the direction from which the shouts came.

"Conan!"

When Kuno Naya saw him run out, she called out to him and then quickly pulled Mouri Ran along to follow.

When they arrived at the scene, they saw several maids standing in the corridor before the bathroom, their faces filled with terror.

That location was supposed to be empty, but now a passageway was visible in the wall, seemingly leading to the basement.
