Chapter 955 [Viewing Style] I'll Give You a Chance to Change Your Mind
Follow Morataya into a room that looks like a collection room, and at her signal, Behfinger closes the door behind him.
Morataya slightly raised her chin at him. "Bring out the body."
Behefinger was not surprised that she knew, and upon hearing this, immediately took Morofushi Kagemitsu's corpse out of the magic pouch.
Morataya stood with her arms crossed, peering through the glass at Morofushi Kagemitsu, who was completely submerged in liquid, several times. Then she sighed softly, "This corpse is well-preserved... no, it's really well-maintained."
Behrfinger: "...Be polite."
Morataya smiled, but her expression turned serious the next second. She drew a pattern in the air and then tapped Morofushi Kagemitsu.
Behfinger looked on curiously and noticed a strange symbol on Morofushi Kagemitsu's forehead.
He muttered anxiously in a low voice, "This shouldn't be some kind of weird curse, right?"
Morataya rolled her eyes gracefully, waved her hand, and ordered, "Alright, move the person over here."
As she spoke, she walked behind the curtain.
"Oh, oh." Behefinger used magic to make Morofushi Kagemitsu float behind him, and after passing through the curtain, he placed him on the bed next to Morataya.
Behringer glanced around instinctively, then at the bed next to him before looking away. Two seconds later, he suddenly turned his head and saw that familiar face. He opened his mouth slightly, remained silent for a moment, and then spoke:
"Could this be Yan-ge...?"
Morataya glanced at it and smiled, "Yes~"
Behrfinger took a breath.
"Go and check if he has a body temperature," Morataya said while preparing some props nearby.
"Huh?" Behefinger was stunned for a moment, then carefully moved over little by little, and a paw tremblingly touched his forehead.
It's a little hot.
Behfinger blinked, then pointed at him and said to Morataya, "He has a fever."
"Is that so?" Morataya casually placed the thing in her hand on the bed where Morofushi Kagemitsu was, walked over and touched Hagiwara Kenji's forehead, chest and wrist, then took out a pink crystal from the wooden cabinet next to her and put it in his mouth, and touched his forehead again.
"That's about it."
Clapping her hands, Morataya returned to Morofushi Kagemitsu's bedside, and Behfinger's gaze followed her.
During this time, she asked, "Are you going to stay and keep an eye on things?"
Behrfinger pointed to himself, his face full of anticipation: "Is it okay?"
Morataya defaults.
He immediately stayed, delighted, to observe Morataya's actions.
He watched as she took out Morofushi Kagemitsu's broken heart, placed it in a cylindrical container, and casually tossed in a red crystal that looked like a miniature heart.
Two seconds later, when the heart was removed, it was completely intact.
Behringer exclaimed in surprise, as if playing the straight man: "Wow, a medical miracle!"
Morataya: "..."
Once the heart was placed back into Morofushi Kagemitsu's body, it quickly returned to its original position on its own, requiring no further intervention.
With another wave of her hand, the wound on her chest vanished instantly. She couldn't help but sigh, "It's definitely easier to revive someone with a corpse."
After saying that, she glanced at Behrfinger.
Behrfinger lowered his head silently.
Morataya casually placed a colorless crystal into Morabu Kagemitsu's mouth and calculated the time, "It will take about... a hundred hours."
Bechfenger: "? I thought it was one hundred days."
Morataya waved her hand, grabbed him, and left. "Of course, the body created is different from the original body."
"Let's go, we have some free time now, I'll show you around Jiao Island."
Behefinger followed her blankly, having already changed into the church's exclusive platinum suit under Morataya's insistence.
He scratched his head and asked curiously, "By the way, are there only a few of us as the main members?"
Since Morataya had already helped him revive Morofushi Kagemitsu and the others, Behefinger naturally accepted his new identity very quickly.
“Including you and me, there are no more than ten of us. We usually use the first letter of our names as our code names when we’re out in the world.” Morataya raised her hand and counted on her fingers. “Currently, there are only six of us: M, B, E, L, S, and I.”
"As for Godfather R and X, they are not included. Yuna and the others are below us, but above the other ordinary members."
Bechfenger nodded knowingly. "So, the 'Church' was founded by the Godfather, who is also Teacher R?"
"That's right."
"Why?" Behrfinger was genuinely curious.
"Do you know why everyone here is so loyal to the Godfather?" Morataya asked rhetorically.
Behrfinger blinked, indicating his confusion.
Morataya glanced at him, then smiled: "Because all the members here are like you, children without families."
Behrfinger was taken aback.
Morataya sighed softly, and said with a slight complaint, "I don't know if he learned it from the master, but the godfather always likes to pick up some children, even though the children he picks up are all special..."
"Huh?" Behrfinger asked, confused. "Sir?"
Morataya raised an eyebrow and said, "I don't know who Mr. is either, but the Godfather respects him quite a bit."
Bechfenger was shocked.
Before he could recover from the shock, Morataya nudged him with her elbow, gesturing for him to look ahead.
As Behfinger looked up, Morataya explained, "The one with the blindfold over his eyes is one of the main members, Icarus."
A long-haired boy dressed simply in a white shirt and black pants was being helped by a woman as they walked slowly.
Behfinger paused, then turned to look at Morataya: Can't he see?
Morataya shrugged: Yes, but not entirely.
Bechfenger saw: No.
He looked at Icarus with a look of pity in his eyes.
Morataya: ?
No one uttered a sound until the end of this segment.
But everyone's expression was complicated.
Liu Qingyao really wanted to complain, but he held back in the oppressive atmosphere and could only communicate with Behringer through his eyes.
Behrfinger: "..."
Qianzhu: "..." Would you like to switch places if it's convenient?
...
As a member of both organizations, Behfinger often travels between them, keeping him extremely busy.
He visibly transformed from a naive young man into a composed and mature one, appearing as if he were a completely different person in public and in private.
Having finished the task at hand, Behffinger changed into a gray cloak and walked down the street.
The hustle and bustle around him had nothing to do with him.
He didn't know how long he had walked or where he had gone, until he came to an intersection and a loud crash pulled him out of his daze.
Behrfinger looked up in confusion, as if he hadn't quite grasped what was happening.
"What happened?" he muttered to himself.
"There's been a car accident over there," a passerby said, it was unclear whether they were answering him or mentioning it to a friend on the other end of their phone.
"...Car accident?"
Before the people of Behfinger could react, they had already started running in the direction of the accident.
But he didn't go any closer.
He just confirmed it.
Behringer followed the ambulance to the hospital, quietly hid at the stairwell, waited for a short while, and then left on his own.
He suddenly thought of something, felt uneasy, and then turned and ran to Natasha's house.
When he saw through the window that Natasha had prepared a rope to hang herself, he instinctively stopped her.
Behefinger knocked her unconscious with magic, but Natasha was still standing on the chair. Just as she was about to fall, he yelled and caught her with magic.
Although he successfully rescued the person, Behrfinger was confused again.
Seeing Natasha lying on the sofa, Behfinger squatted on the floor, covering his head and lost in distress.
Ultimately, he brought the person along and appeared in the church.
Behfinger saw the complex expression on Morataya's face once again. He slowly revealed an awkward, even amused, smile.
“She…” Morataya looked at Natasha strangely, not knowing what to say, when a gentle voice suddenly came.
"Based on her lifeline, she should have hanged herself."
The two of them turned their heads to look at each other.
"godfather."
"teacher!"
R smiled slightly, his gaze lingering on Natasha before turning to Behringer, "It seems you really don't want them to die."
His tone was devoid of any emotion other than gentleness, but Behrfinger felt slightly ashamed.
“You don’t have to do this. Since you’re willing to pay any price to revive them, their lifelines will likely change afterward,” R said softly, trying to comfort him.
Upon hearing this, Bechfenger's eyes suddenly lit up slightly.
R smiled and turned to Yuna, "This Miss Laijian is not suitable to stay here. Please make arrangements to temporarily erase her memories and send her to another small church."
Yuna bowed respectfully: "Yes, Father."
She easily picked up Natasha and carried her away from there.
The three men looked away for a moment, and two of them looked at Behringer.
R, still wearing his usual smile, said, "Behrfinger, you can stay here tonight."
Behrfinger paused for a moment, then quickly nodded in agreement: "Okay."
“Then I’ll leave the rest to you.” R smiled at Morataya again.
Morataya sighed softly and nodded in agreement, "I understand."
After R left, Morataya asked Behfinger to sit down, looking at him with a somewhat complicated expression.
Behrfinger asked, puzzled, "What's wrong?"
Morataya gave a slight smirk. "If nothing unexpected happens, Date Hang will be the last person you need or want to resurrect. But do you know what the price will be?"
Her tone was light, yet it silenced Behringer for a long time.
"What is it?" he asked softly.
“It’s you.”
Upon receiving the answer, Bechfinger's eyelashes fluttered. "...Me?"
“That’s right.” Morataya leaned back, a card flipping in her hand. “If you’re sure you want to make this wish, then you only have two years left.”
Behrfinger stiffened slightly, then quickly relaxed, looking up somewhat blankly. "Two years?"
“Two years,” Morataya repeated firmly, then paused for a moment before continuing, “After two years, I will personally kill you and bring your body back, unless you have already died for other reasons during that time.”
"So, you also want to make a wish for Date Wataru's resurrection?"
Morataya looked at him and pushed the card in front of him.
Behrfinger lowered his head and did not answer. His melancholy gaze fell on his hands. After a few seconds, he took out a pen and wrote his name on the card.
Morataya looked at the card and nodded. "I understand. Go back to your room and rest."
Behfinger hummed in agreement, got up to leave, and was just about to step out of the room when he heard Morataya's voice:
"Won't you regret it? They have nothing to do with you in essence. You don't really need to trade your life for theirs."
"You can back out before your wish comes true; I'm giving you that chance."
Behrfinger clenched his fists and finally said only, "Thank you."
Behringer returned to the private room the church had prepared for him, lay down on the bed without a word, and casually pulled the blanket over his head.
Although there was no sound and his breathing seemed steady, it was hard to tell if he was silently shedding tears.
It got dark very quickly.
Behfinger lay on his side on the bed, his eyes looking somewhat dazed. As soon as it was exactly twelve o'clock, he suddenly got up, took out a rope from somewhere, and tied it in the same way as Natasha.
But before he could do anything else, the door was pushed open.
Morataya followed R in, watching as the Godfather gently tapped Behfinger on the forehead and took the rope the Godfather handed her. Looking at the sleeping blue melancholy mushroom being carried back to bed, she had a complicated expression on her face.
"Let's go." R smiled and patted her shoulder.
Behfinger got up early in the morning, his mood was normal and there was nothing unusual about him. He seemed to have no recollection of what happened in the early morning, and Morataya did not intend to mention it to him.
"I won't be giving you any tasks these days, so you should get some rest," Morataya said, looking at the bright-eyed blue-haired boy.
“Okay.” Behefinger nodded with a grin, then left the island.
As soon as I got back and found Xiao Ye, he dragged me away.
"What's wrong? What's wrong?" Behrfinger asked, looking completely bewildered.
"Don't speak, I'll take you somewhere."
“…Oh.” Having experienced this a few times, Behringer really couldn’t have any expectations.
He was led to the outside of an apartment building.
"?"
Behfinger looked at Xiao Ye with a puzzled expression.
Xiao Ye twitched the corner of her mouth and pointed to a certain place.
Behringer looked up, glanced at it carefully, and almost cried out, but Xiao Ye quickly covered her mouth.
