Chapter 4: He truly lives up to his reputation as the protagonist's father-in-law.
The Miyano sisters still wanted to spend more time with each other, so after thinking it over, they decided to go to the Chinese restaurant with Kurosawa.
The Chinese restaurant is not far from the coffee shop; they can walk there directly.
Along the way, Kurosawa excitedly introduced which dishes were better and how to eat them better, clearly forgetting that this should have been the sisters' private time. The two women behind him were a little embarrassed to interrupt him, which actually made them feel more relaxed.
After all, compared to the other codenamed members who were sent to monitor them, Kurosawa, who was often sent to keep an eye on them, was obviously much more relaxed, not to mention that he had now invited them to have a late-night snack at a Chinese restaurant.
That being said, it still doesn't change Shiho Miyano's opinion of him—
Who knows if this seemingly adorable boy, who hides his madness beneath an innocent exterior and appears full of energy, will suddenly plunge a bloodstained blade into their hearts? Such incidents have happened quite often; almost everyone in the organization who knows him keeps their distance, afraid that they will be killed by this somewhat unpredictable guy at any moment.
Shiho Miyano felt somewhat uneasy.
Upon arriving at the Chinese restaurant, they chose a window seat.
Akemi Miyano and Shiho Miyano sat together, while Kurosawa sat opposite them.
After ordering, Kurosawa turned to look out the window and happened to see several police cars rushing past.
He raised his eyebrows slightly and said to 01 in his mind, "Open the target lock on Conan."
[OK! ]
Who wouldn't love a live-streamed version of Grim Reaper solving a crime on the spot?
Seeing his utterly bored state, the Miyano sisters consciously lowered their voices.
Kurosawa also rested his hands on the table, his chin on his arms, looking lost in thought.
He was looking at the live stream panel in front of him, but to Shiho Miyano on the other side, it was as if he was staring at her older sister.
She even imagined Kurosawa turning her sister into all sorts of strange and wonderful things.
Shiho Miyano's pupils contracted instantly, and she gripped Akemi Miyano's hand even tighter.
"?" Miyano Akemi looked at Miyano Shiho, who suddenly seemed a little frightened. Seeing that Shiho's gaze was fixed on the opposite side, she turned her head to look at Kurosawa, who was staring at her in a daze. As if she had thought of something bad, she couldn't help but purse her lips slightly.
Even though Kurosawa noticed their little actions, he didn't care because he was internally complaining to 01.
"These kids really are a real handful!"
[That's true, but they're really brave to go over there. Aren't they afraid of having nightmares about it...]
"But later on, they should be able to contribute a lot of emotional points, right?"
[Definitely, after all, they are part of the main cast.]
The thought of potentially causing trouble... oh no, I mean making friends with the Junior Detective League makes him very happy.
A smile appeared on Kurosawa's cute little face.
Kurosawa glanced at Sherry, who seemed to be trembling like a leaf, and his smile faded slightly. He inwardly scoffed.
So Sherry didn't start trembling like that after becoming Ai Haibara.
Turning his neck to rest his cheek on his arm, Kurosawa watched as Conan used the Grim Reaper's weapon—the ashtray—to knock out Genta and Kogoro Mouri one after another. Then, using the bow tie voice changer, he began his first deduction after shrinking.
After the delicious-looking and fragrant dishes were served, Kurosawa enjoyed his pleasant late-night snack while watching the live stream.
Although he was the only one who truly felt joy.
Finally, the somewhat awkward late-night snack ended. Kurosawa asked the codenamed members to send the Miyano sisters back to their respective homes. After finding a place to switch back to his main body, he carried some things on his way home.
While passing by the Mouri Detective Agency, they happened to run into Kogoro Mouri and his two companions who had just returned.
"Good evening, Uncle Mori, Ran, Conan."
"So it's Qianzhu." Ran Mouri turned to look at Qianzhu, a smile on her face. "Did you just come back from the bookstore?"
"No, I went to the library later and lost track of time, so I just came back. Where did you guys go? Why are you so late?" Chino Chitake explained with a smile, then asked with some curiosity.
"We went to Ms. Yoko Okino's house with Dad..." Ran said, but was interrupted by a voice from the side.
"Alright, alright, you guys stop chatting, Ran's starving!" Kogoro Mouri rubbed his throbbing head, feeling a bit confused, but right now, calming his rumbling stomach was more important to him.
No wonder he's the protagonist's father-in-law; he survived being hit so hard without getting hurt.
"Huh? Didn't we just have dinner before going to Ms. Okino Yoko's house? Uncle, why are you hungry again?" Conan, the culprit who smashed his future father-in-law with an ashtray, revealed his speechless half-moon eyes without hesitation.
However, he only made one sarcastic comment.
Seeing Kogoro Mouri's slightly pained expression, Conan guiltily looked away.
"If you don't mind, please have this, Uncle Mori." Chizuru glanced at the somewhat pitiful Kogoro Mori, picked up the plastic bag containing a bento box and handed it to him, smiling helplessly.
"Hmm? Then I won't hold back, hahaha!"
Kogoro Mouri's eyes lit up. He said "You're welcome" and indeed, he reached out and took the bento without any hesitation.
"Dad!" Ran Mouri put her hands on her hips, glaring at Kogoro Mouri with a mixture of anger and helplessness.
Conan watched as Kogoro Mouri happily headed back to his room, and chuckled to himself, thinking: ...This old man really hasn't changed at all.
"Dad, really! This is Chizuru's dinner!" Ran Mouri looked at Kogoro Mouri running up the stairs with a bento box and felt a headache coming on.
"It's okay, I've already eaten. I was planning to bring these two for Professor Agasa, and I thought it wouldn't be good for him to eat too much so late, so it's just right for Uncle Mori to eat them." Chizuru gently lifted the plastic bag containing the bento boxes in her other hand and explained to her in a very understanding voice.
"Even so..." Ran Mouri was still a little embarrassed.
"It's alright." Qianzhu smiled slightly. "Besides, it's getting late, I should go back now. You should all get some rest."
After thanking him, Ran Mouri said to him, "Okay, Chizuru, be careful on your way."
"Goodbye, Brother Qianzhu!" Conan added.
"Bye-Bye."
Qianzhu turned around and waved gently at them.
